  1. I have a complete heater box assembly from a 95 VR spare in the garage if you want one. There was nothing wrong with it when I took it out of the car, it simply made way for the climatronic. £30 collected if you're interested, 5 minutes from J30 M1 which I guess is quite a way from you in NW, can't help you out any with delivery unless you can wait until I'm back in the country 20th December!
  2. Unless someone in the forum has an old one thats running spare, Diavia kits always were as rare as hens teeth. If you know someone who has a Golf III with aircon (RHD), it may be possible to shoehorn that one into a Corrado, I havent done it, but I know it has been done. Some say that a hybrid of Golf IV system has been tried. If Guy still has his 'Rado, he may be able to offer some suggestions. Whatever you do it takes research. Try Keith at ACE in Chertsey. His number can be found if you search this forum. Dont try and buy an american or European spec aircon unit and hope it will fit in a RHD drive car. It doesnt. Good luck. Diavia kits do come up for sale now and then, in fact bigpants baby had one on here not so long ago, give him a shout as he may still have it and if not has a knack of getting hold of stuff! Remember though that they were not the greatest a/c kit on the planet when they were new and were often badly fitted by the dealers in the first place so might not be in the best health now over a decade later. Or if you're feeling brave you could go the route I did with c/c, it's a bit more involved but well worth the effort, there's plenty of Golfs and Passats out there with OEM kit in that can be made to fit. Be prepared to use either a fair lump of your own time with the car in pieces installing it, or emptying your pockets to somebody to do the job for you.
  3. About 14 months ago I was selling the C as I needed a reliable daily driver for my wife to use cos I work away so much so I bought an S3. Then I found the forum, fell in love with the Corrado again and have since invested in: Engine top end rebuild Climatronic Schrick VGI, 258 cams and Stealth map Recaro seats Borbet Cs Inpro angel eyes I had the bumpers painted but am now planning to get a full respray and I'm going to replace all bushes, new steering rack, anti roll bars etc. I've stopped adding up how much I've spent but I guess I'll be keeping it now
  4. Audi S3 Service Cambelt New key including coding 4 wheel alignment £1790
  5. I don't believe the expected life span of bushes poly or OEM is an issue considering the fact that everyone's C is at least 12 years old and if you're replacing some now it's a 95% chance they'll be the first one's the car has ever had. If new ones last 10 or 12 years it makes little to no difference. Also, it doesn't matter what you fit, the ride/handling will be better cos you'll be comparing new poly/OEM ones with the knacked out old ones.
  6. When I had the S3 it was quite a lot quicker than the Corrado, especially 80mph+ roll ons although throwing it around bends could get a bit hairy by comparison if you weren't hard on the gas and boost so that the haldex was working properly. I knew however to give RS4s full respect at any speed, they are a truly awesome motor, grab yourself a look under the bonnet of one any you'll quickly understand why
  7. I'm afraid I can't really help with the solenoid controller problem as my experience is only with the schrick setup, I'm sure somebody else will be able to shed some light there. The drawing is however showing things in all the correct locations now. I didn't realise the two vacuum tanks were actually different but don't see any reason for not using whatever tank you have access to. I have not fitted a tank on mine as I already had one for the climatronic system so simply broke into one of the lines from that with a T piece and it all works fine.
  8. I'm loving the little drawing! It's not quite right though The rpm signal when using a schrick controller goes from the ecu to the controller, as does a power and ground (iirc), I got the details on here, from cheesewire probably. The controller then connects to the solenoid valve. The vacuum hose goes from a vacuum source i.e. inlet manifold although it can be connected to various pipes within the engine bay (such as the one to the servo which has a couple of very handy blanked T's behind the engine block on the left side of the car) to the vacuum tank. Don't know exactly the arrangement of the OEM tank but the schrick one has two stabbings, the second of which connects first to the solenoid valve and then on to the VSR. It doesn't have to be exactly like that as long as the solenoid valve has one side connected to the VSR and the other connected to a vacuum line which also contains the tank it will all work fine as pressure is equal througout a system, all the tank does is keep the vacuum a bit more stable due to the increased system volume. And yes the green tank in the photo looks like the OEM one suplied with the manifold. The black disk is a complete mystery to me!
  9. Makes me feel homesick just seeing em!
  10. First day back on the road this January after a one year rest
  11. Gossip monger  No denial then???
  12. Here are the vacuum tank, solenoid valve and control box that came with my Schrick.
  13. Everyone's dream come true  If I read his for sale post right, Leonard had parts made for his VSR at Stealth so they should be able to provide any special parts required. I've often wondered why people go to such lengths to source incredibly rare original parts for these as they fundamentaly the same as a Schrick VGI and should therefore work fine using Schrick parts which are widely available if a little slow on delivery judging by the actuator and gaskets I bought a few months ago. Mr Cheese beat me to it, damn slow Saudi internet connection
  14. This thread suggests the prospect of a beige recaro interior coming onto the market soon
  15. There's something about that part filled in section that I reckon looks wrong, much prefer RS4 reps if you're going for that look. Do the black ones look better because you can't see them so well?? Sorry mate, just my opinion after all.
  16. Professional's will only use the tint film on a roll that you can buy but they're not called professional for nothing. I did some for myself years ago and ended up buying three rolls to get them to anything I wanted to be seen out with. I'd expect a scratch to show up more after they're done, one reason I've put off doing mine for so long, sounds like I've got the same scratch as you :)
  17. As far as I know they're one piece, could be wrong there as I've never tried to take a subframe off one. I have a pair of grey leather fronts spare if you're interested in buying???
  18. Good on ya. My youngest was 2 when we bought out first Corrado, she's almost 14 now and her big sister is 17, I don't think either of them remember anything but squeezing into the back seat of a C (much easier now we've finally got recaros in  ). I can never quite understand why people say they have to get a bigger car now they're having kids, unless of course they're going for more than two!
  19. You gotta say that looks almost big enough. Well done that man
  20. Corrado VR6 Standard Answer Number 40795: All Corrado VR6s were built ObeeWan, only very few have actually been converted cos it's pig of a job. See http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62842 for last thread on subject. Do I sell the Schrick and buy the VWMS inlet leonard is selling? Hmm, tough decision, originality v £500 more in the bank, can't see it happening somehow :)
  21. We are a nation of "moaners" rather than a nation of "doers". If the same things were happening in France the country would be at a complete standstill until something was done to resolve it.
  22. Cut the slam panel itself!?!? Surely it's easier just to mod the plastic grille! Less costly if you make a mistake either, worst taht can happen is you need a new grille! You should see what I had to do to the slam panel of the VR to get the climatronic kit in, the grill was a walk in the park! When I was at Ralliart I used to cut holes in the roof skins for the vents to fit into, that's an £800 +fitting+paint panel, what's to fear with a Corrado slam panel?
  23. I just cut new holes where required to fit it when I put one in the valver.
  24. When I realised this about 15 years ago I decided that if I couldn't beat them I was better joining them. It's not all a bed of roses being a contractor though, 40p per mile for the first 10,000 per year may be a good point, ensuring you have a job to go to after each contract, keeping up with all the tax stuff/accountants/bookwork that you do outside of the normal working day is a downside. And of course the mileage allowance is for running the car, not just fuelling it. Oh, and it's a few pence per litre here in Saudi for 91 octane. But then the government here doesn't rob the majority of price paid in duties to support the welfare state.
