  1. You can get a respray any time, recaro interiors however are available only in limited numbers
  2. I was wondering that myself, of course trying to find any paperwork for mine is a bit tricky, they were the first mod I did when I bought the car in September 2000! Maybe I should be firing a full new set of coilovers on, these must be getting tired anyway. As for the price of the springs, a pair for the Konis is £115 inc VAt and shipping compared with around £750 for a complete new set. Need to decide if I want to go for Koni again though if I change.
  3. And the best bit about buying seats from a left hooker is that the right side seat is going to have had less wear than one from a right hooker. That recaro set looks a steal, I paid almost that just for the front seats in grey leather.
  4. Not thought of them, I'll take a look cheers.
  5. I have to admit to being not 100% impressed by their customer service, but then that seems to be about as good as we get in this country these days :(
  6. Who, (according to the woman I just spoke to there) cannot actually supply directly to me, I have to go to an agent. Oh, and it'll take a minumum of two weeks to get a pair from Holland if they have any in stock, an age longer if they have no stock. None of which works if as I fly back to Saudi next week for three months. Guess it's time to buy a new car and park the Corrado up again!
  7. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy the springs for Koni coilovers anywhere? Just took mine for MOT this morning and I've got a broken one, explains the creaking noise anyway!
  8. Dropped a pair of cams in mine today and found this, it was rather well done!
  9. Then just disconnect the angel eyes, no sweat, better lights and the look you're after??? Myself, I think that after getting rid of the bling chrome look with some black paint the angel eyes are spot on.
  10. I split a Snap On impact socket trying to get one of the cam sprocket bolts out so I've given up and ordered new sprockets and bolts for the 258s. No idea what the torque setting is but they are seriously tight. I found the easiest way to get the head off was to remove the cams first, takes a bit of doing but I managed to get just enough slack in the chain to get them out, bit trickier rebuilding when chain and guides are all new though.
  11. My wife just called me to say some f@cking oik just ran into my car in the supermarket car park and then drove off. She was driving past him at the time when he just reversed out into her scuffing the back bumper. She got his number plate and a witness' name, number etc. If the guy had stopped I'd have probably said not to bother, it's gonna cost me £70 or £80 to paint it but as he drove off I told her to phone the plod and report him. Can they do anything with it being in a car park? Will they even care?
  12. The price of oil may well be a contributing factor in the price of petrol but the huge amount of tax we pay is by far the biggest part. Remember we are being taxed to "Save the Planet" i.e. encourage more of us to use the non-existent public transport system. Problem being that the more people that get onto buses and into more economical cars the less of us there will be left paying into the tax fund, therefore the higher the tax wil have to go to feed/clothe/house the immigrants. Anyone want to suggest a date for the £2.00 litre?
  13. Assuming of course you can just get the bl@@dy caliper bolts out first
  14. Yes they would. Always best after a rebuild to pull all the plugs out and crank the engine until you have good oil pressure before actually firing it up anyway, during that time you'd be pressuring up the tappets.
  15. I paid £650ish for a pair of grey leather recaros and then re-conollised them myself, it cost £50 and a good day's work with the kit from Furniture Clinic. They were probably however in slightly better condition than the ones in yours but after refurb that means nothing anyway. There's a cloth recaro interior for sale right now, seats and door cards for £850. If you're changing to black so swapping carpets, plastics and the lot you've gotta be looking at least close to that even if the leather needs a whole sort out. Or spend a bit of money getting it done yourself then hold out for top dollar?
  16. Hang on a minute!!!!! I'd have supported my daughter buying the pearl blue valver she was hanging her nose over until she realised the insurance would cost her about three times as much again, she's 17 and ended up with her second choice of a Ka? Thebiggest pressure we faced was from one of my wife's friends who could not believe we were spending £13.5K on the VR when we still lived in a middle terrace when she drove a Rover 200 but lived on the new estate, of course she dislikes the fact even more now since I got made redundant, started contracting and bought a better house than they have! At the end of the day a Corrado is still a car, they may cost slightly more than something else of a similar age (although the difference is a lot less than it used to be) but cost no less to run, anything on any car can break and since you've spent a fair bit on the stuff that has broken you can feel pretty secure in the fact it'll not fail again in a long time. And then there's always going to be the feel good factor you get whenever you spot it parked up next to a load of boring cloned "sensible" familly cars at Tescos. Keep the C, enjoy it and feel proud you're keeping another one on the road :)
  17. OK, with you now! You don't have to tell me how difficult they are to buy, it took me a year to find a pair of grey leather ones, worth every minute of the wait though 8)
  18. There's a set in Parts for Sale right now!
  19. They might be a bit slimmer therefore more legroom. Best thing for the back seat passengers (my kids!) is that the recaros fold forward loads more than the standard seats so getting in and out of the back is only half the chore :)
  20. Yeah, the guy you got the rest from
  21. Guess I'd best be swapping to Gliptone then if you use it Michael
  22. I use autoglym although only for the last couple of years, just kept planning to do it the four years before that!
  23. Bought my valver in Jan 96 and traded it for the VR in Sept 2000 :)
  24. Sheet of perspex tank taped into an Evo 6 in place of the winscreen after the car had been rolled on an afternoon stage in Rally GB five years ago. The length of aluminium tubing the scrutineers made us fix up the middle of the screen inside to support this bodge from collapsing into the car at speed almost skewered the driver when he rolled again on the last, very foggy night stage.
