95 Rado, 96 Passat although many of the parts were date stamped 95. Don't imagine the parts would be any different on yours as it costs a mint for a manufacturer to re-tool to change stuff. The main centre box was the easiest part, I took all the ducts off both boxes and swapped the Corrado ones to the Passat box then it all dropped into place and lined up, only the dash centre vent was different as it has an actuated flap in it, had to graft that into the Corrado duct which was a bit of a ball ache!

My White VR6 Now trying to hand polish inlet manifold
tonedef replied to djmac56's topic in Members Gallery
Not left handed are you by any chance? I only ever managed to polish one runner on mine before I swapped it for the Schrick but I started at the other end cos I'm right handed  Keep up the good work, they look brilliant when finished! -
It may be only 15 miles, but its in Wandsworth on a massive one-way system on the south circular. For those of you who don't know, that means traffic jams and hugely complicated 5 lane madness. And Lord only knows where you'd park! But it is beautiful to see all those cars on display as you crawl past. 8) Probably worth it just for that. Walkers Garage in South Otterington, Northallerton is 15mile from my house! :D[/quote:gt7wlhem] I was wondering when they moved to Wandsworth too

I almost had one of these in yellow before I bought my S3, take a look at this one, still on delivery miles if you read elsewhere on the website :) http://www.walkers-garage.co.uk/lancia-delta-integrale5.htm

The bolts under the bulkhead are definitely a German joke, can't wait to take mine out again for the OBD2 swap

I take it when people refer to the flywheel marks they mean the pointer on the clutch cover, I couldn't find anything else under there? When I did the cams last month the flywheel didn't seem to line up with the clutch cover pointer. I used the crank pulley as I'd used it before, the clutch cover one was probably one tooth out, maybe that's why I use so much fuel, I'll test with a dial gauge the next time I get chance and see what the difference is maybe.
-
A bit like this, travelled from Derbyshire to Suffolk this way, hammered the fuel but I've always been scared of a whole rack and bikes coming through the back window if I hit a bump!

hahahahahahaha Classic

That's quite a large proportion then  I know for a fact that my fan worked fine when first installed even before I had it gassed up, all I could see the refrigerant pressure switch doing at the time was inhibiting the compressor. Of course mine's an earlier version of climate control, may have something to do with it?

It used to belong to Campaignloads of info on here if you search.

How much  I see around 23 as average normal use around town, middle 30s max if I'm driving like an old lady on the motorway  That said, you're hardly going to see a deal better from a valver. At the end of the day, plus or minus a few mpg is not what you should consider as the main criteria when choosing a Corrado, normal running costs will make up the biggest part of running any older car. Corrados are generally no better and no worse than anything of a similar vintage, it's how more down to the car's history and in the end how lucky/unlucky you are.

I used everything from a 96 Passat VR6 and it is all fitted and working, the main airbox bolted into the car easily picking up all three orignal mounting holes in the bulkhead, a fourth hole had to be drilled along with cutting a much larger hole for the main piping manifold to come through which sits just below the ABS pump. That's what I have, it all works fine and I also use the vacuum reservoir for the Schrick. This really is where the Passat kit comes into it's own, a small amount of trimming and the face plate fits straight into the dash, the control box slotted directly into the hole left by the original heater controls. I only have a couple of photos of the install as I lost my hard drive last year and with it a lot of the original ones I'd taken during the installation. These two were posted at the time but show how things fit in the car. I would never say that it was an easy job, but it's not difficult there's just a lot of it, just take it step by step like any other job.

   Sat at my desk this morning typing a reply to the PM, even that's monumental! Just looking at the OBD2 setup bigpants is selling at the moment and really wanting to do the conversion but knowing that I'd have to redo all the Climatronic wiring. Do I really need that much agro???

Thanks for doing the initial legwork on this one cheesewire. Fitted a set of these while I was home over Christmas, brilliant mod, why did I wait almost twelve years of Corrado ownership to get around to doing it???

Update in case anyone else needs Koni parts: I found a company on the net called POTN who quoted me £115 for a pair of springs and delivery but said to expect two weeks delivery time, I said I'd shop around and come back to them as I really needed some ASAP. Anyway a couple of days later I called them back to say go ahead with the order and after keeping me on hold for around ten minutes they came back saying that they'd spoken to Koni and it was not possible to get just springs, I had to buy a complete new set. Strange as I'd already had a quote from them after they'd previously phoned Koni? I questionned this but was given a direct no, not possible and would you like to order a full set? Like hell I would! I then called Larkspeed, who took my number, spoke to Koni and phoned back with a quote similar to the first one I had and a promise of delivery in ten days to two weeks, couldn't be more helpful. I guess POTN just wanted to get an order for best part of £800, instead they got nothing.

There was an aqua blue P plate VR I used to see alomost every day around Chesterfield when I first had my VR around 2000/2001, only one I ever saw and not seen it for years.

Spoken like somebody who has more information

Thought about it myself but common sense prevailed. Too many miles, need TDi! Cheese for sure :)

Hi and welcome to the forum. I always used to have emissions trouble with mine and scraped through the MOT a couple of times. When I was rebuilding the engine I noticed that one of the exhaust manifolds was warped on the gasket face so probably pulling in a fair amount of air and screwing the mixture. I machined the face flat again and it sailed through the MOT so it might have been a factor? Yes, if you're booked for an MOT you can drive directly there and back with no road tax. :)

I've got the stick on lens protectors with my inpros, seem to be doing the job OK. Prefer it that way because the grill spoiler still fits too.
-
Always OEM for the head gasket. Use p/n 021103383N as you'll gain around 0.5 on your compression ratio as well as getting the better, later gasket.

Let the passenger do the honours???

You gotta hope so, at least the roof has remained largely intact, the A pillars hardly seem to have moved. Guess it's still got to hurt a bit though.

Yup but on the down-side the early ones have the double switch hole on the wrong side! So you'd need to locate Door trims from a RHD.. thats very true, didnt think about that... You could get away with one door trim as the new driver's side hole needs making bigger. It's not impossible to fit the single switch in the double hole and then make it good, or how about fitting a double switch both sides? Nothing's impossible and to get genuine corrado recaros for that kind of money is such a result that a bit of remedial work on the doorcards is nothing in my view.

Why, does that look something like his old VR?
