  1. Sounds like it could be in the fuse box/relay plate, sure someone'll be along soon with a good idea of where to start looking, I'm seven hours on a plane from my wiring diagrams or could have a look! Welcome to Corrado owning and the forum anyway, you're in the right place for answers :) This might help
  2. My speedlines were just over £200 at Pristine and one of them needed a repair
  3. Mine came set for RHD already although everyone says how easy they are to swap. Biggest problem I found was getting them to dip far enough, I ended up extending the adjusters by about 15mm to see anything but trees!
  4. Or visit them with a baseball bat if they're not
  5. I sent my Speedlines to Pristine through an agent in Doncaster early this year and well well impressed with the results. However when I got them back I took them to my mates tyre place for fitting only to find that he was also an agent for Pristine but had recently stopped sending wheels to them as too many had come back as you describe. He didn't say anything about paying for returns but he was looking for a new place to send refurbs to.
  6. Just looked on Ebay UK and there's a Schrick with two days to go currently at £330 or so
  7. Hold out for a Schrick as they do come up for the right money occasionally, I played the waiting game and ended up buying one from German Ebay for just over £700. Well worth the wait in my opinion.

Well for starters it's a dash out job due to the size of the heat exchanger, the fuse box has to be pulled out to get a load of extra wiring in, one of the heater ducts had to have an extra actuated flap fitted in it and a sunlight sensor plus interior temp sensor had to be grafted into the dash. The control panel sort of fitted where the original heater controls came out although it had to be modded a bit. The heat exchanger/fan box is huge compared with the original so the glove box is now only half the depth it was before and I've only got about 20mm of the lower shelf left on the passenger side. Under the bonnet there's about five extra wires had to go into the fan controller, an extra temp sensor in one of the coolant lines, a different sensor in the thermostat housing (four pin item replaces an original two pin one), extra outside air temp sensor and wiring to the compressor clutch. Then there's a vacuum tank to squeeze in, the condensor to fit (nightmare) and the drier canister to get in plus all the pipework (vacuum and refrigerant) to route. Power it up, plug in vagcom and pray you can clear all the fault codes, get it gassed up and you're done 8) As I said, a little complex!
  9. 1) Insert ignition key. 2) Twist clockwise. 3) Drive.
  10. Sounds rather optimistic to me too, both price and power claim, I'd be wanting the whole drive train thrown in for that money! As for power you're as well getting the AMK 210 bhp engine as a chip will have both versions topping out at say 265 bhp

Aircon or climate control? My climate control came out of a Passat, it's a pretty complex install but all the bits fitted OK.
  12. Watched the running commentary on the BBC website cos I was on site. Gotta admit Ferrari's excuse sounded rather far fetched to me. Great to see Hamilton bearing up under the pressure, one more result to seal an historic season!
  13. If it's on back order or something like that I've got one laying about in the garage at home, there was nothing wrong with it only I had to use a different one with a temp sensor in for the climatronic. Of course it's probably the original one so 12 years old and I'd have to get my wife to dig it out to post it but the offer's there. Let me know if you're stuck :D
  14. Welcome to the forum You'd not do that again would you :D Not sure if mine is typical but I get say 25-28mpg knocking about and around 34/35 on a run.

    no sunroof!!!

I had a '90 blue pearl valver without a sunroof, window winders too :D
  16. 1) Turn ignition off. 2) Push lighter in. 3) Wait short time. Then you'll know :)
  17. Strange that as i have wondered bout having a VR6 as my 2nd to get more fuel economy  I average around 26mpg on V Power with the VR, can't say I ever consider economy when I buy a car though else I'd have a diesel dog  I bought a chipped S3 when I was last working in UK for the weekly drag from Chesterfield to Sandwich, Kent. It averaged about 29mpg over 22K miles in the 15 months I had it! Good for the Shell points.
  18. I have a strange desire to buy myself a G60 as a second Corrado. That way I can get rid of all worries, drive the G and thing there's no expensive chain job to do then drive the VR and be thankful I don't have to rip the G Lader off every 40K for a rebuild. Problem solved?
  19. They want to be, the standard ones break my back anything over about half an hour!
  20. Well chuffed Michael, they must be one of a handful of pairs of grey leather recaros in the country so I'm :D :D :D Need a bit of attention before they go in the car but Ange has already been looking for a bit of spare leather to cut off to get a colour match for the refurb kit. That'll be my first job when I fly back in on the 9th October. Can't wait, I was on the phone to her earlier today and she was sat in one in the garage saying how much better than the standard ones they feel!
  21. I've added Inpro headlights too since then but need to get some pictures when I fly home on leave in a few weeks, after that is I fit these that arrived today:
  22. Next job was Schrick, it was a bit of a nightmare as there's not a deal of room under the bonnet any more with all the other stuff I've had to squeeze in there.
  23. OMG, first Hislop and now McCrae, terrible news. Thoughts go out to the surviving family members right now.
  24. Don't know if he still gets on here but BlueRado used to have one, talked to him about it when I went to look at the VR that Billcor bought in the end. He was very thorough with keeping details of a car's history and would tell you exactly what one cost to run, certainly didn't make pretty reading. PM him, see if he's still around.
  25. You'll find out how much you need one soon enough with the nights drawing in! DIY if you're confident with electrics, off the shelf if not. There's nothing to it really, just a couple of relays and some decent gauge wire, I've always made my own although the latest one was a bit different as I had to get dip and main beams on at the same time with the Inpro lights. Take a look at: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60470&hilit=wiring it'll tell you how to do it.
