I have decided not to fit this brand new Wiechers strut brace which I bought in the Summer. So it's for sale here. These retail from DC Performance for £79 plus postage. See link here: http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/cheap/383940/volkswagen/wiechers-sport-strut-brace/gw511002.html I'm selling this one at the bargain price of £70 including postage or £60 collected from Wiltshire. It's worth noting the significant improvement these make to the handling of the car, making a noticeable difference to the structural stiffness of the front end. If you want to use one for go rather than show, you need a steel one, not one made aluminium (which Wiechers also do) which does next to nothing because it flexes. This one is in immaculate condition as you'd expect. It's only been out of the packaging to trial fit (resting on top of the struts) and to photograph. Comes complete with 6 bolts washers and nuts to fit it. You will need to drill your strut tops to fit. My iPad is playing silly games and won't let me upload the photo I have showing the whole strut brace. One image below which shows the label. The paint on the rest of the brace is as shiny as in that picture. So £70 posted or £60 collected. Thanks.

Not sure mate. What I'd do though is run the car along to The Phirm who are not far from you, and ask them to take a look. They'll give you a no nonsense opinion and you can go from there. I'm sure Tim would be happy to help you, even over the phone. He's done all the wok on my car, looks after a number of Corrado VR6s and his father has for an immaculate G60. He knows his dubs. VR6OC V-Festival @ Brooklands Museum 26th October 2013
chazrad replied to VR6Pete's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Pete did a great job today. It was a super day out and a as Harrier has said, good to catch up with some familiar faces. Some nice cars there too. Got my daily Mk3 on the banking. Some people left early and forgot about having to pay to park on the banking and poor Pete is now out of pocket. I hope they get the message they need to pay up soon. -
The Phirm have done at least two 2.8 v6 4Motion Rotrex conversions which have produced some seriously impressive numbers - over 500hp. No change from £5k though. They've done a couple of Rotrex'd Mk4 R32s as well with even better results. 500hp is the new 400hp, so it would seem. And of course, the other major consideration when upping horsepower is brakes. Bl--dy great big ones!

Why are you selling them, buddy? Have you traded up?
-
Jim, You'll be aware that this is planned to take place on the same weekend (but different day) to the Brooklands V6 Festival which the VR6OC are organising. Whilst many may be able to make both events, there will be some with family who will have to limit themselves to one event or the other. I mention it only to manage expectation in case you find you're struggling for numbers. Let's hope that you don't.

Replacement stainless S4 badge with new replacement Black Audi grill badge and grill surround primered then sprayed with black Plasticoat (Apr 13) Original S4 badge on rear. New black Audi rear badge (Apr 13) Service History: Absolutely masses of service history with a fully stamped service book plus all receipts dating back to 2004. Also a pile of MOTs and tax discs dating to the same period. Latest work: MOT and oil change at 158171 miles with very expensive Castrol Edge 5w40. Bad points: One very minor pin dent to OSF wing and a small patch of lacquer peel on NS of front bumper. 1 of the cup holders in the cabin does not work Horns connected and working but require a bracket to mount them in the engine bay, having had to relocate them when oil cooler was fitted. Summary This is an outstanding car that I spent several months searching for (and travelled 200 miles to collect). I have loved every minute of the last 9 months of ownership. I had no plans to sell it. However, my new job requires a 60-mile daily round trip commute and this is simply not the car for it. I hope it goes to a good home and to someone who will look after it. Private plate not included. Link to photos: [url/] http://s1226.photobucket.com/user/chazrad/library/Audi%20S4?sort=3&page=1[/url] £6000 or near offer. Cazza, no problems. PM on its way. Re how loud these things are, they make a little difference. They do allow a slightly better engine response due to the freer flowing gases. So there must be a slight increase in top end power, but I'd doubt it was anything like 10 bhp though, at least not on an NA VR6. I would have thought 5 bhp is more like it. And yes, come MOT time, the cat may have to go back on to get through the emissions test.

Coulstar, I happened to have a chat to one of the guys at The Phirm about the V5 a few months ago and was told there is very little tuning support for it. I think everything would have to be custom and it would cost you a lot of money to achieve power gains that would be underwhelming. I'm sure it could be done, but what price exclusivity? I'd go down the rotrex'd R32 route if I was going to swap out the engine in the C now. V impressive power gains (over 500 bhp) available depending on the engine build and size of the pulley. The R32 block is a great engine.

Agreed, a good day and some nice cars there. Good company too. Also, the first time I've won anything at an event ever! Pete, well done. There's a lot of work that goes into organising these events and you did really well. See you all again soon. PS. Have already fitted the VR6OC tax disc holder and sticker to the Golf.

A really good day. Got a little sunburned I think. But caught up with loads of great people I haven't seen for ages. A good turnout on the Corrado club stand too.
