Good to see you both if you can make it. I've had a shocking week so I'm really looking forward to this now. A bit of car based chill out!

Mines 2 boxes, no resonators. I'd describe yours as a single box with resonators (I think that's what they call them) instead of the old suitcase mid box on the standard exhaust. Your system should flow even better than mine as the gases have less bends to negotiate. I have a suspicion it's going to sound epic! How did you polish yours up? I might have to have a go at that with mine

Looking fantastic Matt. Bet you're happy with how it's going so far, and all the fun of putting it back together still to come! Be interested to see how the exhaust sounds. I've got the dual borla's on mine and it's still loud enough for people to know it's me before I knock on the door etc, so a single plus decat will be something else!

Works for me as well.

So we're in for Sunday? Spot of lunch and a chin wag?

Just finding excuses to post up pictures of your headunit! Another good mod. -
I'm running drilled on mine. They are meant to be a bit more prone to cracking but you get better initial bite than with standard or grooved discs. Plus, on full lock my bottom ball joints are a little close to the disc so you get a clicking noise as it catches in the holes.... which is always amusing for passengers that aren't expecting it...

I was only allowed to the Peterborough meet in the summer because she was out!

This country gets more like a police state every year

Well her who must be obeyed has confirmed I should be good for Sunday 7th. Other than that I might need to be an evening meet for me unfortunately.
-
14th might be tricky for me as I'm meant to be in Germany that weekend. Could possibly do this sunday 7th, but I appreciate that's a bit short notice.
-
Not around unfortunately. He took the turbo lump out and put an R32 motor in. In its final state of tune it's still around on the forum, but not sure who, and I went in it a few times turbo'd and it was phenomenal!

Thinking about it more an afternoon would be less pressure. I'll try to sort out my free time.

Awesome! -
Earlier on I was chatting with Sean_Jaymo about meets next year and we thought it might be nice to see if anyone was interested in a pre Christmas mini meet. We're thinking somewhere in the Peterborough area and we've not set a date yet but probably going to be an evening unless I can get a free afternoon on a weekend. Sound like something folks might like? Post up your interest and we can try to arrange something.

Part-Ex'ing Corrado R32 for Honda Jazz + Front Door :(
mic_VR replied to CorradoWannabe's topic in General Car Chat
My wife has a jazz. It's ****e. Seems a poor deal to me. How much do you want for you R32 if you don't mind me asking? -
Yeah very plain. There's no bling about the exhaust at all but it's all function. One nice thing is its sectional so if you wanted to get another tail pipe it's just a short section to change over after the silencer. Easy! Crappy video alert! [video=youtube_share;ZzR_QOvD4p4]

Sure do mate. It's a fantastic exhaust, but the exchange rates were more favourable when I ordered mine. If you can get a deal on one I'd definitely recommend it. And if you want to hear one in action just let me know and I can always pop over.
-
If you want to try a decat mate I've got one you're welcome to borrow? If it was me looking for an exhaust again I'd go for something custom and make sure there's no kink in the pipe as it travels the rear axle.

Looks really good mate. Very impressed. -
Define oem+? Like your suggestions, I'd do many of the things you have. For me I'd keep the exterior and interior almost completely standard but with all red rears and clear side repeaters, and a über rare steering wheel... BBS or something period. Wheels are the tricky thing. I'd probably hunt down some 16' speedlines but there are very few about.

Top work mate, the brakes will be an improvement I'm sure Aqua blue one looks good to. Engine seems ok, has it got many miles on it?

You do need to take the show with a pinch of salt on most occasions but this particular episode has spurned a few write ups from reputable sources in the US and the cars themselves are now owned by a Pontiac museum and I doubt they just put any old rubbish on show. I love all the old American cars, and this show is generally quite entertaining even if, a lot of the time, they can go a little OTT with Richard Rawlings shouting! Whoo!
