Looks great Sean, got to be happy with that! There's always little bits that you notice, that's part of being obsessed with these damn cars! They didn't do the slam panel on mine, and I guess that was a time/cost thing.

I'm fairly impressed that I've not had to do the matrix already. It's done ok for 20 years old! It's annoying but hopefully it'll be easy to sort, I'm not going to mess about I'll be taking the dash out. And I guess I'll just sort the turbo at the same time..... It's the logical thing to do!

So I guess it was going to happen at some point.... And tonight it did. ... Heater matrix has gone pop :(

Manufacturers pressures will be fine mate. Just keep an eye on them and if you're getting uneven wear just adjust your pressures up or down accordingly.

How far is it from your house? Could you set a camera over looking it? -

Anywhere else you could leave it? Mates house or parents etc if it's not a daily? -
That's interesting. I wonder what they're trying to prove? I guess in a real world situation you're unlikely to pull up at the lights with a 458 and have a drag race. Be interesting to see a VRT versus some more modern speed machines. Maybe won't win but interesting anyway.

Great looking car, sod the speed. Off the shelf you can buy an ariel atom that's quicker 0-60 Plus, what's with the rolling start? If it's a 3.0 sec to 60 car why not a proper drag?

Looking forward to seeing the build back up mate. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Haha, top work chaps!

Nice! how you feeling this morning?

Ultimately we as the voting public have (in theory) control over our elected representatives. They are required to answer to their constituents as regards their promises and actions, and the actions of their party. If we vote them in and they don't uphold their promises we should vote for someone else. And any policies made should (in theory) have the backing of the public majority. Obviously it's never this simple but I don't believe we have a strong enough voting ethic in this country, as demonstrated by the 60% turnout of eligible voters at the last general election, so the system is inherently flawed. This allows those in power to remain in power as more often than not the people who do vote are party loyal, and therefore nothing significant changes. I'm all for compulsory voting, this ensures that the majority are spoken for. I may be waffling but Kev is correct. We only have ourselves to blame for anything that happens. How many people write to their local MP to complain? Or file petitions with Parliament? BTW I'm not defending the government in anyway, I believe them to be a fairly even spread of power hungry ethically wayward lying cheating morons... but I still try to vote for the one I believe will do the least worse job. Not that my choices are always successful! But where I'm trying to get to is that certain things are universal in politics, One of which is Tax. And no party is going to drop fuel duty rates as it is such a good earner, and is a stealth tax which means it's hidden away so people don't notice.... much like VAT unless you're a business. And to be honest, I'm happy with that. The government sets tax targets and budgets based on these taxes... and if they drop fuel duty something else will go up (how many noticed your tax band increased this year to £10K? How many noticed the 40% band limit dropped to pull more people into the 40% rate?) as the government never just give money back, the deficit is never going to allow that. And as someone who doesn't do many miles I'm better paying a higher fuel duty to drive when I want to rather than higher Income Tax as a blanket on my salary. Just my 10p worth.

This is an excellent job you're doing mate, well done!

Maybe we should bring back the forum forza races?

Have you thought about popping along to your local dealer to see if they have the specific VW tool available for you to borrow? Seems unlikely they'll be using it any time soon
-
Yeah I'm a bit restricted. Currently the Rota's have loads of room but the CH's run a little closer than I'd like but do ultimately clear. Because they're 304mm I could go down to 16" but they'd need to have a good amount of spoke clearance. I'm sure you'd agree the stopping power is worth the wheel compromise!

last bike I had was a triumph Daytona 675. Very focused machine and great for trackdays but a bit hard on the wrists for everyday so I never used it. Hoping to be in our new house in a few months then I'll start looking for something to either build up or get something newer and strip the rado down instead.

Mmmm shiney! Looks very well mate.

Rolling the arch won't help. To make those fit you'll need to pull the arches and I'd be very surprised if that wouldn't also mean a bit of bodywork and paint. Sorry.
-
Yeah they're ok I guess..... ;)
-
Hmm, fair enough then mate. Lets hope it was just a faulty one and the next one is perfect.

Think there's a few video's of my car floating around on here anyway but I'll put some links up to youtube. The borla is by far the best purchase I've made for the car so far.

Looking forward to seeing the pics, and I bet you're looking forward to taking it for a spin after all this time?

Sorry to hear you're having such a torrid time of it mate. Is it worth getting an OEM one from the dealer for peace of mind and your money back from ECP? Also, "as slack as Katie Price" made my day!
