Quick update, I'm doing this insurance stuff quite slowly! Today's quote was from Brentacre - £420 fully comp and thats 5000 miles per year, £4k value, 210 bhp limit and all mods covered (engine, suspension, exhaust, wheels etc)..... so I think thats around the area I'm looking at. TBH I'm quite happy with that, plus they were really helpful when it's been a complete pain trying to get hold of most of the other brokers routinely mentioned on here
-
I'm sneaky aren't I  So doesn't anyone else insure they cars once converted?
-
Ha, bloody, ha..... it will be turbo'd soon, this is just stage one making sure the 24V conversion part works and everything is sorted with the wiring etc. so there!
-
Evening Ladies and Gents Just wondering if I can get some ideas from people who've got VR6's with a 2.8 24V conversion what they are paying for insurance? (as long as you don't mind of course) Looking to get mine insured this week ready for BVF and I've only managed to get £440 fully comp from Adrian Flux so far but I'll get back on it in the morning. Any good quotes peeps? :norty:
-
yeah that was from the dealers, I did have a hunt around quickly but I'd guess you don't want a sub-par part that is so vital
-
Yes, currently £58+VAT on exchange basis as I ordered one yesterday! Although just realised I forgot seals! Doh! :brickwall:

R8 definitely very close in feel and soul to the Corrado, having driven both the V8 and V10 versions, and better built than Astons and Ferrari etc. I also liked the Gallardo's I've driven which are very similar if a bit harder edged than the R8s. One thing I would say is the Italians/British know how to make a car sound great. The R8's aren't a patch on the Astons and Ferrari's for noise and road presense. Never driven the GT-R but would love to, only a week left at the current job though so I guess that's not going to happen now! :(

Ordered a couple of these last week, is there really that much difference in them all? What are people doing to try and stop the windnoise?

Lot of right handers at Brands  , good work on melting those tyres!

not the highest quality pic but still my fave as it's doing what it was built for!

Awesome day all round except for me having a terrible headache! Loads of great cars and some very worthy winners of special DG trophies. Good to see everyone and just have a catch up over a burger or two. Also loved the cakes Judith made, very tasty.... yum! Look forward to next year gents. -
Did you do a morning? I noticed the Audometrix day is about £170 for he whole thing!
-
Mines a bit lower if that helps?....... So you're really into the whole trackdays now then, how many you done this year? I'll be at the Autometrix day with mine and hopefully some more once it's all back together.

Awesome pics mate, who was taking them as they're pretty darn good. Loving the wheels as well, hint hint!

Gutted, can't make tonight now as we've got the inlaws over for a few days. What's the word on making this a regular feature? -
Those those tyre on the scirocco are semi slicks so will have a harder more pronounced side wall to cope with the extra stresses involved in the extra grip. If you want that look you'll need somethIng like a 205/40 tyre on a 6.5J wheel, but not sure how that would affect your rolling radius which you really want to keep as close to standard as possible
-
no spacers and my car is running 288's so yeah they fit fine. Personally I thought they were a bit thin, they're only 6.5J so do narrow the track a little and give a bit too much tuck for my liking... Hopefully this will help with what I mean. I thought they looked great but I'd probably go for 20mm hubcentrics all round, still wouldn't rub I think.
-
Here you go, stock Beetle 16' steelies with 195/45/16 tyres Hope this helps.
-
Got some in my members thread but I'm on the iPhone so you'll need to hunt for them.
-
Well I collected mine from work today and they do look really good. The Partsman seemed to think they would make more but obviously no proof of this, be interested to see how many the system is saying are left now.

yeah not a bad idea, i might have to sort another tv though as the missus wasn't happy about missing something rubbish like Glee/Three hookers & their mum (sex and the city!) that was on and I only said we be racing until about 9ish! -
You were there dude! That was at the legendary 20th anniversary meet at the 'Ring. anyway...you can just see Kev in his shorts :cuckoo:  [/quote:1fx5xqsz] Oh yeah, so I was! It's all that Jupilar we were drinking..... :gag: Now I look at those side on pics it might be that the short runner is actually a bit on the small side, might have a hunt through my photos to see what I've got.
-
couldnt tell if yours is a 3.2 or 2.8, let me know so I can keep the list as accurate as possible. Ah sorry mate, it's a 2.8 24v. That twin turbo R32 looks like it's been tipped back slightly as i've never seen one with enough room to fit a short runner like that without modifying the front end slightly... anyone got some more pics of it?
