FORZA 3: Week night Marathon (FIRST POST UPDATED)
mic_VR replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in General Car Chat
My connection was rubbish last night, sorry guys :( Didn't even let me save a replay but I spent a lot of my time in one wall or another anyway! After the race I spent a little time tweaking my car, Best lap I got in the race was 1:15.35 but after a few adjustments I've now got a car that'll do 1:10's which will hopefully make me a bit more competitive in future rounds. Still a good laugh though. -

So at what point today do we start sledging each other? Ok I'll start....... you're all gonna lose.......... or something........ -
Nice motor mate, always look good in red and impressed with the work and commitment you're putting in. Top work! :salute:

Well the main issue on the 24v is space, because the head is wider to accomodate the extra valves and the equalised inlet paths its hard to make any current short runner intakes fit when its in a corrado.

Those two piece look like works of art Kev! Seriously makes me think 12vT would be easier than a 24vT. Can only get cast exhaust mani's for the 24v and SRI is an issue at the moment as well........ :confused4: ............ what to do............

FORZA 3: Week night Marathon (FIRST POST UPDATED)

As others have said, it's all good fun and just a game. After I left the racing last night I did have a quick look at the replays and I'm guilty of a few late braking mishaps myself during the races, especially managing to punt Monky off in the Datsuns! With the lag issues, it all looked fine from my point of view but I'm paranoid about my own connection to the xbox live system as I'm not sure I've set it up correctly. Even last night I couldn't seem talk over the headsets although I could hear you all? Very strange. If someone wants to PM me a brief overview of how to check my setup/router settings that would be much appreciated. :notworthy: -
FORZA 3: Week night Marathon (FIRST POST UPDATED)

Was a quality night of racing, thanks to the lads for waiting a few extra minutes for me to get myself online in time to race. Being the first time I've actually used the xbox live to play against people online and it was so good, can't believe I left it so long after getting my xbox to actually get on and race! Race of the night had to be the Datsuns, quality work from Mr Monkey there and I stole victory from the claws of third after Kris' wrong way tactics took out Mssrs Monkey and McCrotch  Can't wait for next weeks now. For those who want to watch the reply of the Datsuns it should now be saved in my storefront, if not I'll sort it out this evening. -

You're definitely not the first to consider all the options but I think it comes down to 2 things: 1) How do you want your car to behave? 2) How far do you want to go in terms of modifying further? Firstly, A supercharger will give you a much more linear power delivery, possibly considered more composed and less all or nothing like a turbo setup. Although a turbo setup can be mapped to make them far smoother and deliver the power much more consistantly, but this can be very time/money consuming. A turbo will give you that kick as you're buried into the seat which lets face it is what most of us are after! :norty: Secondly, A turbo gives you a lot more scope to up boost in the future without having to take everything off again and swap parts over. Usually just a remap and a little bit of tweaking on setup. I'm sure people on here who've tried both will say that eventually they've gone turbo after a supercharger setup. The other thing I personally think is that a turbo is a lot more efficient, it works off waste eshaust gases and doesn't produce a load on the engine. The upside to this is that people quite often get mpg figures (off boost) that are almost as good as a standard engine. A supercharger has a parasitic load on the engine as it is driven off the auxilliary belts and therefore expect a fair drop in mpg regardless of how you drive it. All this is why I'm currently in the process of ordering a GT35R for my car!

If it helps, mines not ONH........ But you're right, do see a lot with very similar reg numbers. Guess it is because they were sold in such small numbers, and many pre-registered with a dealer, that the numbers ended up being fairly close together?

Make sure your relays are ok in the loom, mine went pop and left my main beams on all the time. Took the loom off and everything worked fine again.

The CF Forza 3 Race League, Final League Standing Pg 1

Ah bum, completely forgot about this! How did the second league get on? -
I wonder how much the kit will be, assume it'll be an option to have it fitted as well. Could see a few more VRT's about. Might scrap my 24vT plans and go with this!

Very jealous mate, I've had a million changes of mind about turbo'ing my VR or going for a mk2 VR conversion. Hopefully you'll love it. Will it be a road only or track machine? On the OBD2 front, having been out in mrbeiges 2.8vr with OBD2 I'd say it is well worth it. Just the way it delivers the power so much smoother and responsive. Can't wait to see how you get on mate.

Would be interested in joining a second league now that I'm up and running online, feel free to add me - Mincyx. Would depend on time/day etc and I don't think I'll be competetive yet but it's all good practice. -
Think I saw about 16mpg round the 'ring...... saw 7mpg at Snetterton a few weeks later though! As others said: Get it Vagcom'd as a start and go from there

Yeah knowing the tracks would help! Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving it but I've only ever had 2/3 goes on an xbox (never played a PS3) in my entire life before today so not really sure what i'm doing. Forza is agood place to start though, tried to play Call of Duty earlier and can't get on with the controls at all... time and practice is what I need now so watch this space. -

Well finally up and running on the xbox front (although not online yet :( ) and loving it so far. Need to get a few hours under my belt to work on my car and skills before I actually race people but getting very slowly better. Just wondering if you guys are using steering wheel accessories or just the normal controllers? Not sure if I'm just rubbish but finding it quite hard to just get the car going where I want it to! -

Yay! I've been out today and bought an elite with Forza 3 and 12 months online gold..... only problem is I won't get chance to set it up until later in the week. :( Can I play next sunday or is it a case of committing to it now? -
Think it'll be a 360 for me as all my friends/brother seem to be Xbox'ers. On a slightly off topic note, how long do people think the Xbox 360 has got left before they bring out a new one? I've followed the time line but hasn't it been out for a while? :?
