Agreed, even with a Vortech

Really..... mine made 275 with only 5psi  Its dependant on setup tho surely..... I had an RS Turbo (in a diferent life  ) running 194bhp (not bad from a 1.6) but the lag was awfull..... I remember i got beat off the lights by a cinquecento sporting..... till i hit 3000rpm and the touque steer nearly pulled me off the road
-
Well done fella ! I would love to convert mine to OBD2 as I currently have OBD1.5  how much more dificult is it with aircon? scatter fueling...... I hear this really helps?
-
Very nice looking motor fella ;) I would have thought you'd be making a little more then 280? Have you had it mapped / tested?
-
Answered my own question here, there are 2 long probes thatt come off the plug and bend 90 degrees and go into the tank itself. I will butcher these
-
Cheers BigPants ;) Has anyone wired in an OBD socket? Piggybacked one off the ECU? Problem i have is there is 6 wires coming out of mine (in the car) but the Autodata sheets say there are 2 pins from the ECU 21,43 IIRC that it connects to..... so what about the other wires? Will it function with just the 2 connected to the ECU?

Cool, I was just worried I had removed part that was meant to be in that hole and opened and closed by whatever means... Guess it must just be part of the cap that got blown up I would have thought so fella, there should be no loose bits inside at all! I have one (in the boot of my car atm lol) so if you want a pic just ask :)

That small hole is a 90 degree take off that the bottom hose clamps to, or thats the only hole there should be in the bottom........ dont mean to steal the thread..... quick header tank question, I am toooo tight to pay the near 300 stroave motorsport want for thier polished tank and i have not seen any other ones?? The question is, how would you remove the plug socket (top left of header tank) from the standard header tank and how does it determine if you have enough water in there or not? I am looking to incorporate the standard plug into a polished tank.... cheers

Air con switches go on the switch panel (same as fogs etc they occupy the bottom slot) they have a blank square with NORM and MAX round buttons..... pic available on request

Cant find anything on the wikki..... Would really appreciate any help...... Anyone got the autodata sheets?
-
Cheers fella but that link no worky?? If I pm you my email addy could you email me the file? Also I have the wiring colours for that Uni-Chip if you still need?
-
Can anyone tell me the ECU pin no's / wire colours for the OBD socket ? I have to piggyback one off the ECU. Any help would be appreceiated, cheers

Yes fella, all the same. I would advise you spend a bit when buying a gauge, the cheaper ones are usually inacurate. Its looking good btw... :)
-
lol... Personally I would give Stormdevelopments a call, speak to Andy, he will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
-
herisites it is possible to cut the 135deg 80mm to fit it on the TB, then use a reducer like this... This is my setup. Obviously a bit different as the Rotrex take off is different to the Vortech.
-
A couple of points to add... It depends what you want the car to do, as in a Vortech will ad a good 60-80BHP to the top end (if stage 2 or beyond) so with them being quite cheap now on the second hand market its still a good option for a power increase. The Schrick inlets are supposed to help with low down power but as I dont have a one i cannot comment. Rotrex are quite a bit more expensive (over 3k new  ) so it also depends on your budget as with that kind of cash you could have a nice Turbo set up. I actually bought my Vortech off Andy @ Storm and he has been very good with advice since so I would recommend using them if you do decide to go Rotrex. I have always found the best place for a VR6 in standard form is in a mk2 goof since driving a one, as you have to remember the Corrado (allthough it looks great).... its still a heavy car!
-
Its a shame but i have to agree ^ ^ I have a V9 on my storm, plus a few other 'choice' modifications big valve head etc... its great above 3.5k! Obviously no lag, so my advice would be Rotrex all the way!

I will have a look, I have the wiring for mine but then i took it off so i know where it goes  is it coilpack? dizzy? If its disconnected the ECU will indeed be a standard map, you see thats the point of these, the ECU's map isnt changed the Uni-chip just fools the ECU by changing the signal it sends out / receives. Can't help on the last one fella, im from down south :)
-
Flux, no-one could beat them for me :) I have declared the lot!!
-
I used to use one of these before i went forced induction. They are pretty good, 13bhp gain on totally standard all I had was the Uni-chip (obvoiusly remapped) but i saw 203BHP over the measly 190std. They also give better fuel economy and make the car feel more responsive under part throttle. The one i have (which is still for sale BTW) is for a coilpack VR, as far as i know it makes no difference if 2.8 or 2.9 but they are different for coilpack or dizzy. Basically the benfits are you can just remap it after adding new modds, and its soooo much cheaper to map then a full ECU remap. This reminds me..... I have to get up off my lazy a** and ebay mine........

Cheers chaps, just what i wanted to hear :D Lock this up please...............

Balls.... Think this should be in Drivetrain Feel free to move :D

Hi All, I was gonna fit my 288's with my 16" BBS's but I may have had a change of plans..... do 288's fit under solitudes? Anyone running them together? Cheers
-
Just remember.... when buying red tops, they dont all run at the same OHMS the Bosch ones used by VW are 10/11 OHMS and the ones used in Cozzys are only 3/4 OHMS get the wrong ones and you'll fry your ECU. I got mine from Pittstop, speak to Steve, not many people will split the sets (they come in 4's) but he will :)

Im interested in this thread as I have bought a set of 288's (picking up at the weekend) but i wondered if this could be cleared up... Nope, the lines are different, the Corrado ones are the same as the passat.. Might as well upgrade to goodridges while your on with the job.. IMO 50 quid is a bargain for these, i paid more than that for mine, great upgrade for any VR... But earlier on the thread i saw this...... So do the existing brake hoses / lines fit a corrado? Cheers
