  1. Its in the box and the box is back on the car.... I had a little drive (just to check alignment of the gears) but havent thrashed it yet. I am currently fitting a smaller pulley, meth injection and my schrick inlet. The plan is to be ready for Edition :) I'll keep you posted, if everything works out I should be able to post up my analysis at the end of this month.

  4. I just knew someone would come and pi$$ on my fire..... Damn you Kev :tongue: If Im honest, it is the 'off boost' gain that im after. Those of you who have experience with Vortech chargers will know they dont produce a noticable difference until 4k!
  5. Funny you should post this..... I have recently purchased a Schrick inlet and as soon as the GB Schimmel water / meth kit arrives I'll be able to give a definitive answer :D Oh.... and I cant bloody wait :cheers:

  7. I have just purchased an Autotech LSD and will be changing the final drive whilst having my gearbox refurbished. For those of you have already done this, what box did you get the final drive from? I have seen in the wikki there are a few boxes that use 3.68 FD but they are all either G60 (1.8 ) or 2.0 16v. My concern is that although they are all 02A, I am being told when I go to order one that the main shaft size is different and if it arrives and doesnt fit there are no come backs!! So, what box code / part number have other people used when doing this conversion? I have a CHN box in my VR6. Also, do you just order the FD or are there other parts I need also......?? Any help is much appreciated :)

  9. Yeah, I got offered one (Mk5) for 1500 notes a while back. I thought this was a good price :) And the last I enquired Storm Developments wanted £1350 to supply and fit the Emerald.
  10. Id agree with getting someone (professional) to come and have a look and bring some testing gear with them compression test and sniffer etc... Personally, I would look at a 2.8 24v as they are cheap to source and its newer technology (will also probably have less mileage). Im no expert on the conversion however from what ive read on here theres no more work involved then there would be changing a 12v engine and converting to OBD2. Just my 2p :)
  11. I *believe* i need a 2.5" (63.5mm) to achieve 10psi ? Would settle for 60mm.... Got anything near there H8RRA ? You must have a big FMIC then fella ? It looks like the pulley you have atm if 47mm is only 2/3mm bigger then this one ?
  12. Nice bay btw flusted :D It looks like a good little set up............... has anyone else used a Devils Own system ? Thats the problem, I was thinking of just changing the pipe between my charger and the TB for a watercooled one (thats the only boost pipe i have on my V9 set up) although with the associated costs of the pump, pre-rad etc... I could probably get a water injection set up..... Think i need to do a bit more research!

  14. When I bought my Vortech i was given a few pulleys as part of the deal, I want to upgrade my 8psi one for a 10psi.... Can anyone tell me if the pulley in the attached pic is 12 or 15psi? Also, whats the size of the 10psi pulley?
  15. Been looking at their site, they seem pretty cost effective. Is your kit the universal stage 1? Shame you havent had the chance to actually use it yet as I was gonna ask what you thought of it....

  18. Ive been looking into getting a schrick mani lately.... Is this sticky flap scenario quite common then? And how would i test when purchasing? Also whats the cost of Vince's fettling to resolve it? Cheers and I didnt mean to highjack yr thread Goldie :)
  19. I have seen this on the bay and after doing a search on here I havent found any info.... I dont see that this can be as effective as a proper chargecooler as the cooling is only done around the outside of the pipe rather then forcing the air through a chilled matrix inside. The guy who produces them says they can be used in conjunction with a chargecooler or on their own... They are cheaper then any chargecooler ive seen and according to the guy who makes them he can make bends and reducers (basically a bespoke system) and flow water through all of it! I wanted to post it up and see the general reaction... 8)
  20. I was told that by storm developments, its the easiest way to avoid the drive by wire throttle issues!
  21. They're 10mm leads and dont fit properly in the grooves. You can see where I have tried to clip them in (look at the top lead in the pic) but they never stay :)

  24. I could see you driving that Kev :lol: If you are not handy with a spanner then I would say cost has a lot to do with your options 8)
