  1. In my opinion you will be fine with 10psi on standard CR, you will need to hook up that water injection tho! I know a guy who makes the pulleys up if you need one, blackdub will vouch for them as he bought one. Here is a pic of the 10psi pulley I had made and used on my V9 on standard CR with the Schimmel water/meth injection.
  2. Sounds like you are coming along Mark :D The question of GT30 or GT35 should spark a good debate in this thread, I went for the 3076 for the quicker spool. From what I hear the 3076 is good for upto 500hp if you want more power then that you will need the GT35. Mine arrived from the states yesterday
  3. Yep, I have fitted this to my VR6 along with the lower temp fan switch. Works fine on mine but I would only advise fitting one of these if you currently see high temps. As for an easy job, its not very difficult at all. I would suggest you buy a new thermostadt housing too as the old one can crack and it will come with new o rings.
  4. A good tip if you need to get to the lower mani bolts is to undo the top nut on the front engine mount and jack the engine up from under the sump (remember to use some wood so you dent the sumpage) Yeah, leave the TB attached when you remove the old inlet and swap the TB onto the new inlet then replace as one lump.... my 2p of course ;)
  5. Blimey.... 660hp!! Graph looks a bit spikey tho... Is it 4wd?
  6. Very nice, the Vortech superchargers are a great power upgrade. Is that a V9? In terms of colour coding you saw what mine looked like in mystic blue pearl, I have some pics if you want me to email them to you. (sorry I sold it elsewhere by the way) If you are going to colour code or keep it gold I would get the charger to TB pipe done the same coulour, will set it off nicely.
  7. If you read your original post, the one you refer to in the top post of this thread you will know what the PCV valve is... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=75217 The part you have goes inside the rocker cover, if you look at the back left of the rocker cover you will see a take off that is connected to a breather pipe with a black disk (PCV valve) that then connects to the induction pipe between the throttle body and air filter. I can only recall seeing the mesh on the metal rocker covers (early rocker covers are metal and late ones are plastic) but I cannot be sure of this. I cant see it being vital, I would think you will end up with more oil in your induction pipe if you leave it out and it may effect your idle but im sure someone will confirm that for you.
  8. Looks to me like the mesh that goes inside the breather outlet on the left hand side of the VR6 rocker cover.... Im probably wrong tho! LOL For your info mate, that is the breather that the PCV valve connects to :)
  9. LOL... IIRC there is a dude on here with a Storm thats puts out 220+ with Schrick 268's
  10. 203 BHP with K&N Induction and De-cat 301 BHP with V9 charger, SP263's, Big Valve Head and De-cat. Im sure 'cheese/pianowire' and 'stormcharged' and 'crazydave' and CorradoVR6nos' will come along and put all these to shame with their VRT's :D Oh and for Remaps, Stealth or I also use Storm Developments.
  11. This is such a stunning car! Awesome. I cant believe you have the time, energy and patience to clean it as much as you do. Well done :D
  12. yeah i'll agree with those figures - if i'm honest i'm really hoping for more than the 280 i said because of all the nice bits i've got, but i'm just being conservative so i'm not disappointed!.... as for getting the power down on launch - my quaife will be helping me put the power down! ;) cheers for the encouraging words - really just can't wait to get it finished off now :D really want to drive my car side by side with a charged example once it's all done! Yeah, putting the 2 side by side would be very interesting mate... I went for the Wavetrac diff over the Quaife which I find superb, no loss through open diff under driveshaft bounce 8)
  13. Right, dont get me wrong here im just expressing an opinion.... I done agree with the above! You do not need to rebuild a 12v to reliably supercharge it, you might need to check you have a decent idle valve and maf although these days you can get them remapped to run without a maf! You can go 8psi, which yes does limit power but only to 300bhp which is more then you get from a remapped mk4 R32 anyway! And 8psi requires no chargecooler, no intercooler, no water injection and no reduction in compression! Oh and you could probably get away with a rising rate fuel regulator which means you wouldnt even need bigger injectors (although if your buying a charger kit the injectors normally come with) Just my 2 pennies.... hey not arguing - this is a "forum" after all  however..... surely unless you have a car with like 50-80k on the clock, surely you would want to think about having a head refresh and chains/tensioners/clutch at least for safety and peace of mind before strapping on a charger.... also - yes you will get about 300bhp with a basic charger kit - but i hope to see at least 280ish with my mk5 r32 (maybe a bit more depending on who maps it and the fact i have lots of shiny bits fitted eg. pulleys, flywheel, helix, sports cats, bmc); then there's the extra weight of the 12v plus the charger over the r32 and the fact that the r32 makes good power lower down the rev range - i recon there would be very little in it between the two...[/quote:2g5x8wkq] LOL... Pete, I recon the 12v with charger would produce the same tourque figures as the R32 set up but the charged 12v would have more bhp ...As for the extra weight.... it helps you get the power down   Well done for going MK5 tho fella, its more difficult but its the best way to go if you want R32 power :notworthy:
  14. Right, dont get me wrong here im just expressing an opinion.... I done agree with the above! 15. That would make it a seriously nice corrado. IIRC from what I heard when I considered going R32 (admittedly a while back now) the MK5 makes better power then the MK4. I remember hearing this from Storm Developments who have done both conversions!
  16. The basic answer to that is YES! ...But it depends how you build it and how good you are with the spanners.
  17. You might want to consider how much you want to spend first then decide what is the best route for your budget :)
  18. I removed a set of 264's to fit these Schimmel 263's and still saw a power gain (8bhp) Best bit for me is they made my car so much more driveable, better pull low down then my 264's. Fit them.... you know you want to :)
  19. What tests have you carried out so far... ? I would advise that removal of the head should only be when you have tried everything else first.
  20. Just to throw my 2p in.... I have done these, both the fan switch and thermostadt and fully recomend them! But.... Its only worth doing if your experiencing high temps, my oil temp used to see 115+ when giving it the beans but since the upgrade I havent seen higher then 106. The cold map arguement is a valid point but from experience, even on a freezing day going round the M25 the temps dont drop enough to revert to cold map. In terms of MPG, I cannot comment here, I changed my fan switch and thermo after fitting my supercharger and MPG is completely dependent on how heavy my right foot is :)
  21. ok mate, the Jegs site seems to hold the most info.... K&N RC-5046DK - Seems the one to go for. http://www.jegs.com/i/K%26amp%3BN/599/R ... K/10002/-1 Do you know the delivery times? Do they do priority to UK? Cheers
  22. Yeah, I'll have a looksie too mate! Spose it will have to be a US supplier as I have been looking for a UK one for 4 months now!
  23. Yep, I had the same thought.... I think you can get one from the US thats 9" long and round tapered. As for the size of the actual filter, short of taking my front bumper off and getting the tape measure out, I havent got a clue! ive even asked K&N stockists and they just refer me to the information on the K&N website which doesnt tell you anything: 57-0311 Product Specifications Product Style: 57i Series International Kits Type: Gen I CARB Exempt: No Weight: 2.6 lb (1.2 kg) Product Box Length: 9 in (229 mm) Product Box Width: 9 in (229 mm) Product Box Height: 9 in (229 mm)
