Anything 'can' fit, Has it got the plastic arch spats? - if so you can keep them, but remove them, roll all the arched then refit them without the 1 or 2 central rivet(s) to the body and using a stanley knife trim all the meat off the inside of the plastic over arch. This allowed me to just TT comps which will be the same offset as a set of 3.2 wheels hopefully, as standard i think the tire size is 225/45/17 which is roughly the same rolling radius but i put 205 40 17's and a 80mm ish drop (sump was so low i hit a bump in the road and totalled that and cracked the gearbox :( ) and only rubbed with people in the you will need to get different tires though mate. a 225/40/18 is 10% bigger rolling radius than standard so your speedo will be 10% out the best i can think of off my head is run a 215/35/18 which runs 5% out - this is providing your speedo is c0ck on atm

Is that not the one he said he read Rob?

what do you want to do exactly, your valver is 256 fron t and 226 rear i think, the mk3 vr6 is 280/288 and 226 i thought so you can just put the callipers on your rear brakes with a conversion hose (goodridge make these) as for the fronts - You wanna keep your 4 stud hubs but go 280/288, have a look what size disc a g60 uses.

Go for it :-) we'll have yours done as we wait for mine back. the mot's booked in for 9 so can you get to mine for 9/9:30 so i can put the seats in and get there on time (mot's 10.30 but planned on being there about 10ish) cheers dude
-
I actually know what you mean. :( This should be interesting. Will be interested in seeing pics of the haldex setup. Are you doing all the work yourself? Too young for the $6 dollar man sorry! Yeah all work will be done my me and my mate Ed so that'll hopefully help having 2 people on it!

Well in true corrado style i was refoaming the original seat this eve and the pigging bolster wire snapped off (2 welds were broken from my and the previous owners fat ass's no doubt! ) And i havent bought a welder yet - no i dont know how to weld but my mate whom i share my unit with has been a welder and fabricator for years so i'm leavign that to him! So i think i will be going down to see mr deviant to borrow his front seats for the mot saturday... unless some kind soul near bedford or gaydon in warwick has 2 spare i may borrow for beer? Is that the rear one? That's how they're supposed to fit? really? The fit of the new one looks perfect and exactly as expected. i looked at the original on my spare beam in the garage and it seems to be welded in. If thats the case then i'd imagine you cant remove it... my bad! yes karl i decided foolishly that my ultimate engine set up will be completely wasted without the 4wd!... let the fun begin!... it cant be that hard its just nuts and bolts right! Yes mate, i really like the shape of it and the closing vents, plus the climate control fits in nicely and the radio appeture is double din which will be usefull. This will see the light of day, i may well be single at the end of it though with the hours it'll need! Cheers Sukh, would love to have a proper look under yours and see what was used and where! Nope the TT shop didnt want to know. Cant really be arsed to persue it any further, managed to get the old stub off at the weekend by grinding the bearng remains off so i had access to the bolts and then hammering a 14mm socket on the old rusty round 15mm bolts, then all it took to fix it was stripping a spare beam of its stub axle and discs with bearings and abs cages still fitted and hey presto - the beasty lives enough to get an mot and then drive up to my unit to de disected...

thats the plan, make it as r32 like as possible all in the much better looking corrado shell!... not the easiest of things in the world but should make the electronics a bit easier as well as being able to use vag com in the future the diagnose issues! I love my corrado but the mechanicals feel old and creaky, a new heart and most other parts renewed or upgraded for mk4 items should make it feel v different!

Finally spent some time fixing the wonderfull fuck up by the technician at the TT shop over the xmas break... the list of things they got wrong, which they claim they didnt make a mistake was as follows Didnt grease rear bearing on one side leading to the beraing exploding damaging the stub and disc and tire where it dragged on the road didnt remove old dust seal at the back of the stubs both sides threw away my abs rings with the old discs Snapped the heads off the brake bias box on the rear beam and have just left it like that! Left the original arb on and strapped the new one on [edit] its meant to be done like that - my mistake! and i think thats it for now. Anyway, now i'm finished sharing their workmanship, the Rado is about to be converted over the next few months into a haldexed R32'd bit of fun :-) Then providing i keep my job over the next year with this krispy kreme krunch hiting the automotive world badly it will be getting charged... Rough list of parts sitting in the garage/loft atm mk4 3.2 and all engine ancilleries all 3 pedals Gearbox and linkage Full car loom Clocks, indictors and keys Dashboard, support bar and brackets Steering Rack and column Central tunnel/gearsurround and stowage box Front and rear complete subframes (will be using rear brakes and something more tastey and lighter for the fronts) Full haldex system Inc all 4 shafts + the 2 piece prop and rear controller Newly refurbed 20yr old 17x9.5 wheels Carbon buckets I still need to speak to a guy i know about picking up his spare rallye rear runnin gear but i have enough to be starting... let the fun begin!!

Well done Rob! My VR is rolling again and i'm gonna MOT this week to use the tank of super in it then i start my conversion as well! - After the fun and games i had stripping mine out of the donor car it'll be great fun refitting it all in the smaller corrado shell! hopefully we'll both finish before the summer! 8) Good luck (o and if i can helpm with anything just shout!)
-
dude i know i've been away with the christmas beer fairys recently but what abut your special set?
-
just a quick point about the chrome bolts used, when i picked up my splits from the company who refurbed them i asked about bolts to use to rebuild them and he said theat he doesnt use chromed bolts anymore unless requested to as they do corrode. As does stainless but no where near as quick, so this is what i went for, but if you do as the deviant advises and wax them - i use rimwax as i love the smell! - they will last for ages
-
yep - do that - transfer the entire car over and sell al the perfectly good body panels lights interior etc, + the old bits from your rado and your laughing as they seem to be worth more a scrap/breakers right now :( + if you get it all from the same car it'll all work with each other  ... similar to the route i am doing and it is alot easier being able to visualise where wires came from and how parts mated originally! gonna be alot of work either way,
-
smiffy dont be so negative ;-) if you're doing the work yourself you can fit and r32 for under 3k depends what you want from the car? you could always go for a 2.8 24v, cheaper than the 3.2's and there are a few supercharger kits croping up on here and edition, i'm sure that could all be made to work for 3k!
-
Sukh you've done a cracking job there mate, looks like it'll be a monster on the road, glad your gonna enjoy it for a bit before you sell her though! After seeing yours i should have been put of by the amount of headaches and hassle you had gettiing it to work... but instead i'm starting to fit 4wd into mine! will need a few basic questions answered at some point about the rear end as i've dove in head first without thinking about exavtly what i need! lol
-
little basstards! i'd imagine they're similar to the price of the RM/RZ caps, £20 each from the dealers :-( i know it doesnt help now but when you get some new ones, buy a moulded/lasercut abs 'spanner' from ebay - means you can do them up ft and then there is no way you can remove them except with one of those spanners
-
alphine, nakatomi plaza, pah! what you want is a ripspeed headunit for only 99p - great value! lol! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RIPSPEED-CD-HEAD-UNIT-IN-BOX_W0QQitemZ250324418353QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP?hash=item250324418353&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Hi does anyone know the vw part number for the bbs centre caps for the G60's monoblock RZ's or Rallye RM's (or any other RM's!) not inc the mk3 vr's RZ's as i found they have different centres :censored: thanks alot andy
-
good work on the bumper there fella, but dont shave your rear towing eye - if you accidently loose it and bury it nose first in a ditch - thees no easy point to tow you out from! o and yeah 4" is mahooosive - but i'd still like to see it as i have similar on my golf and think its way to big!
-
i'd say sell the engine and loom/ecu/clocks/key together then its a more staightforward swap? o and ot of intrest is the 4-mo box and haldex gear the same as the r32?
-
Keiran what are you looking at lhd drive autos for dude! - your not looking for another are you? I'd have thought thats a euro car unless the uk owner swapped to euro front and rear bumpers and tailgate plate plinth? - cant see any evidence of the crazy yanky doole belts either, though the pics arent great!
-
Awesome! love the noise of that scooby as well!
-
v impressed karl! i'm soooo jealous you have yours up and running! - my C still has the VR in it :-( o well hopefully by next year! :-)
-
so you have a 9a currently fitted but the bottom end's gone, you have found a kr to replace, will the wiring work with a different engine? I dont know the valvers so well but the 9a is a 2.0 right, and the kr a 1.8 i know you can put the kr head on to increase performance slightly but i wouldnt think the ecu would be right with a completely different engine?
-
Dude i'm very impressed you have it running! i need to speak to you about how to get the cable operated throttle to work with the r32 but thats not gonna be for a while! Your special 6 branch, is that similar to the one storm sell now or will your mate do a better one?... hoping to have mine at your stage by early spring so its gonna be a busy winter!... o and as i work near birmingham now... can i come for a ride please? :D ?
