Thanks. I remember when changing suspension on my mk2 that I used G60 top mounts as they were better quality than the OE 8v. Does the same apply on the Corrado?
-
Cheers, is it worth changing the bumpstops too?
-
Front and back? Best to go with VAG parts?
-
I have two broken springs at the front of my 16v, so I'm going to get a set of h & r springs to replace the venturas that are on at the moment. The car was lowered before I bought it so I have no idea how long ago it was done. What else should I replace while the shocks are off?

The piston seal kits are £8 each as are the new guide nuts with boots and a bit of grease.
-
You'll have a lift pump in the tank and the other pump will be next to the fuel filter. The lift tank pump is the best place to start as it's less than £20 and easy to replace. The other pump is around £80-100 and is a bit more difficult to fit but nothing major.

Hopefuly once they realise how many customers they'll lose they will change their minds. There is no way I would have been able to run a car for the first few years if it was't for third party!
-
Thanks very much guys, I'll order the seals and save myself some cash.
-
I eventually got around to replacing my front brake pads today and found the piston seal was torn as is one of the bolt dust seals. I've had a look at a couple of posts and removing the piston doesn't seem a nice job. Is it worth getting the seals and repairing the calliper or should I just get one from GSF? Would a new calliper come with a sealed piston or would I have to use the old piston in the new calliper? Cheers

I'm very jealous of those figures!
-
Cheers, I'll pay them a visit today.

I need a pair of those rubber straps that connect the parcel shelf to the tailgate. I've had look on etka and it says they aren't available. Does anybody know if this is correct or of any alternative?
-
Cheers for the replies. I'll get them ordered now.
-
Has anybody fitted the number plate surrounds to their Corrado (front and rear)? Do they fit and how do they look? Thanks
-
Cheer's for that, I'll put this on my to do list.

I forgot to check back on this thread. I ordered a set of EBCs in the end that should be here shortly. Hopefully they'll be up there with the Pagid but at the least should be better than whatever's on just now.

I wonder how many of the discontinued parts we have all been looking for have ended up in a skip. What a waste!
-
herisites - that would have been great but I need them for a 16v. Cheers for the warning about the mintex as I was offered them or greenstuff as a replacement. I'll give the greenstuff a try then. Cheers

I ordered a set of Pagid fast road pads from GSF as they impressed me on the Golf. 2 weeks later when I phoned to ask where they were I was told they can't get them now. Does anybody know of another source or a similar pad for a commuting C?
-
There could be a couple of reasons it's not working try doing a search and you find links with pics to fixing the problem. Removing the blower is about a 5 min job.

I think if I take the dash apart again it will be for a more permanent repair so I don't have to do it all again. I've managed to manually adjust the cog to the windscreen setting so at least I'll have visibility until it's fixed.
-
My heater stopped working on the windscreen and foot setting so took the dash apart and found the cables were intact but one of the cogs had snapped. Does anybody know how to remove them? Is it worth sticking the old one back together or whill to just break? Cheers
-
I don't know about a conspiracy, just general incompetence. Nobody checks the work they do. Surely it would be simply enough for a council employee to have a look at the repair and make them do it again until it meets the required standard. It would save councils paying compensation to motorists too. I'm convinced I have a slow puncture on a 1 month old tyre because of the potholes on the way to my work.

The pay as you go epetition created a lot of media attention. They don't take much effort from us to sign and if you can create any sort of media attention on the subject in an election year then that's a good thing. Even if we don't gain better roads there is nothing to lose apart from the minute to sign it. If you have a lot of time on your hands you could lobby MPs and councillors, write to press, start a name and shame internet campaign or whatever but if everybody were to moan to their mates in the pub and on forums nothing would be done about it. I personally don't have the time to do any of that, but I would support anybody who did and I am willing to support those that have took the time to create a petition on the matter.

Just found some epetitions on the subject http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/potholes/ and http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/stateofroads/
