  1. Love it :luvlove: I ditched my 90mm for a 50mm too, its like driving a new car now. Is that lamin-x on in-pro rears? I want to do my in-pros all red but i'm not sure weather to spray or lamin-x. Yours look very smart.
  2. For UK driving buy a dirt cheap TomTom 520 from ebay or the like. Depending on how savvy you are with pc's etc. search on the net and update the device to the latest SE v9 navcore software leaked from a tomtom programmer (google for it) and then you will have what is pretty much the lastest TomTom for a fraction of the cost of a new one. Maps are easy to install and the best speed camera database is available from pocketgpsworld.com The latest maps and speedcamera databases can also be found on the net for free, if your that way inclined.
  3. Some more info (from a USA website) - http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-ecoroute-esp-cable.html Stay informed Use this cable to connect your Bluetooth-enabled Nuvi 1xxx directly to your car's On Board Diagnostic (OBD) system. You can display data about your fuel economy and current engine performance, as well as decode and display critical engine trouble codes. Know what's going on under your hood at a fraction of the cost of aftermarket gauges and expensive mechanics. Total installation time is under 5 minutes; just plug the cable into the OBD port in your car (usually located by your steering wheel) and pair it one time with your Nuvi 1xxx-series device. Garmin ecoRoute Information Displayed * Fuel and Intake Air Anformation (Fuel Flow, Intake Air Temperature, etc) * Coolant Temperature & Oil Pressure * Throttle Position * Combustion Mixture (Emissions) * Engine Component Operation & Status * Battery and Charging System Information * Climate Control Information (Heat & AC) * Drive Train Status and Condition Compatibility: ecoRoute ESP will work on all vehicles manufactured after 1996 in the US (1998 in Canada) with the following ODBII systems: J1850 VPW, ISO 9141-2, J1850 PWM, KWP2000, ISO14230, CAN
  4. Thats the one, the plastic box with mesh on top near the ecu. Theres a foam seal that sits between that and the bodywork. It could be that or as i said the drain holes blocked up. Yeah Stealth day should be a good un, cant wait :norty: see you there
  5. Check inside the windscreen wiper motor tray area for leaves and debris blocking the water drain holes. This can sometimes cause water to get trapped and then overflow into the interior heaters air intake. Also in the same place check the gasket underneath the interior heaters air intake. The foam seal could be rotten or the whole thing not attached properly. While your in there its worth removing all the foam from it and then re-seal the whole unit using some hefty waterproof sealant to prevent future agro. I used black roofing sealant on mine and the problem was sorted.
  6. Nightmare :mad2: i had my white g60 keyed front to back down to the metal on both sides once in a city i was visiting. Also had the front end resprayed on my current car a few months back. Then one morning 2 weeks later got up to find that some local kids had decided to cycle round and round the car banging into the front bumper corners and front about 10 times with their pedals and wheel nuts :censored: and looks like one also fell on the bonnet and cause several scratchs with his/her handle bars! Corrados seem to attract things like this. Are there any shops nearby with cctv pointing out on the street? could ask for footage and get the old bill onto them.

    Here are mine at night.
  10. Saw this over on cnet. Its an interesting gadget coming out for the Nuvi range of satnavs that plugs into the cars OBD-II port and sends engine and diagnostic data to the satnav via bluetooth. http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-31066_7-10390928-267.html
  11. That video was shot about 8 miles from my house. Often see Clarkson and the top gear crew up our way too hooning around in nice motors. That stretch over the mountain to Brynmawr is awesome and also deadly. Had a few deaths up there in recent years.
  12. Depends if they can have custom startup screens.
  13. Made these in photoshop last night. Couldn't work on the car as it was raining so i was bored. They are for all TomTom GO 5xx, 7xx, 9xx series devices (i have a GO 520) Enjoy :shades: PREVIEW THEM ALL > HERE Instructions for Corrado start-up screen: 1: Download the zip files above. 2: Unzip them to your pc and then copy the pictures to the "photos" directory on your tomtom. The main memory or an SD card is fine. 3: Restart you tomtom then go to the preferences menu and choose "start-up preferences" 4: When asked if you want to change the start-up image select yes. You should now be able to choose your new Corrado start-up picture. Instructions for Corrado shut-down screen: If you want to have one of the Corrado splash screens to show when you turn off the satnav do the following. 1: Using the .bmp files in the zip downloads. 2: Make 2 copies of the Corrado screens that you want to have for shutdown. 3: Rename one to "antitheftw.bmp" and the other to "suspend.bmp" 4: On the tomtom in the root folder find the original "antitheftw.bmp" and "suspend.bmp" files and back-up or rename them as they will be overwritten in the next step!! 4: Copy the files you made in step 2 and 3 to the root of the internal memory of your tomtom if your device is standard, or to the SD card if you run navcore from the SD card. 5: Restart your tomtom. The new pics will now show when the device shuts down. :salute:
  14. Nice buy, ihi's are lots of fun :norty: Mine makes me grin like a numpty inside all the time. Good luck with the build.
  15. Im thinking of buying some of these. Prosport Performance Gauges (USA) They are DEFI style stepper motor gauges with many features. Has one tried or seen these? Im looking at getting a boost gauge (psi), oil pressure gauge (psi), oil temperature gauge (degrees c), wideband and a fuel pressure gauge with adjustable regulator. If anyone is interested in a group buy ill give XyberAutos and Prosport a call and see what discount they can do. I have searched on a few scooby forums and they seem to be getting %10 discount for 5 orders of 3 gauges and %15 discount for 20 orders from Xyber Autos. Prosport USA have a sale on some of the gauges at the moment too. Some of the features: 1. An internal microprocessor controls the needle movement through a digital stepper motor (Swiss made). The high torque of the stepper motor ensures accurate pointer movement without vibration in all conditions, reducing margin of error to 2. Electronic gauges throughout the whole gauge range, easing installation. (no vac pipes or fuel pipes to route into the cabin) 3. The gauge illumination can be toggled between Super White and Amber Red. (white in the day and amber red in the night wired to the light switch) 4. High quality smoked lens complete with gun-metal coloured bezel complete the look. 5. Automatic opening ceremony when the gauges are powered up. 6. “Peak” recall function available, showing the maximum values. 7. “Warning” alarm function available, fully programmable by the user. 8. Gauges can be serially connected to each other for opening and closing ceremony, only 1 power feed needed to 1st gauge. (like Defi gauges) 9. Super-slim gauge housing, measuring only 25mm in length. 10. Each gauge is packed with accessories, DEFI style gauge cup, gauge shade, senders, hoses, all wiring and instruction manual. 11. 6 months limited warranty from Xyberautos.com for factory defects. GAUGES AVAILABLE: Boost gauge. (BAR/PSI) default is PSI Oil Pressure gauge. (BAR/PSI) default is PSI Oil Temperature gauge. Water Temperature gauge. Voltage gauge. Air Fuel ratio gauge. 16. Me and the missus down the local last night  Me+Ania (Small).jpg[/attachment:1l7hp7zc] ps Halloween lol.
  17. Awesome bit of kit, many thanks. :notworthy: Here is an alternative way to fit the LED's without using hot glues etc. This way the LED's sit into the dash straight and flush the same as the original LED's. It will also make it easier to remove them in the future if need be. It will also avoid you taking the clocks apart again if your glue comes loose causing an led to fall back inside the clocks. Requirements: A junior hacksaw or you could use a dremel. A spare or broken set of Corrado clocks. A 2mm drill bit. I took the LED holder from an old set of clocks and modded as follows... Put it all back together and thats it. Its possible that you may be able to source an LED holder from a different model VW that has clocks made by VDO, Golf mk1, mk2 etc. I'm not sure if they are the same as i haven't had a mk1 for many years. :salute:
  18. everything! Seriously tho, It really depends how its been serviced / looked after / driven in its lifetime. I could give you a list as long as both my arms and boths legs with the things that have had to fix/replace etc. on my current car and past car. Do a search on here and you will find topics discussing buying 2nd hand cars and the things to look out for.
  19. i use an angle grinder + cup shaped wire brush fitting + face/eye protection 8) and to finish off nice and smooth with a flap wheel in a drill.
  20. What car 16v/G60/VR6 ? fuel pressure sensor on fuel rail ? (G60) wire off it or sensor failed. A complete guess
  21. Was discussing this earlier... viewtopic.php?f=19&t=85582 Ive got a full black interior and black carpet 8) and fancy a black headlining.
  22. Has anyone has any experience with either of these products? My interior is black cloth. Im thinking of using the "Simply Spray" magic black on the headlining and to blacken up the cloth on the door cards, and the "Duplicolor" vinyl spray to black the sun visors. Both look like they will work. For sun visors: Duplicolor Vinyl Spray ---> - For headlining/door cards/seats: Simply Spray upholstery spray ---> Anyone tried them.
  23. Ive got a top hose for sale. Its the one that runs from the top of the radiator to the front of the block where the 2 senders are, with a smaller hose that comes off it to the expansion tank. it was replaced a few years ago with a genuine new vw part. LINK if you want it ill get a picture posted up this evening so that you can see it.
  24. I have a Toad Ai606 and the fuses for mine are right next to the alarm unit itself in the alarms loom. As for the fob not working, Im not sure but its possible that if the alarm has been powered down for a prolonged period of time it may have forgot your key fob's ID so your fob wont work at all. Toad alarm's can be usually be programmed using the ignition key to enter a pin number. Once the pin has been entered and you are in the menu system of the alarm you can then "add" your fob's ID to the alarms memory. If you dont have any instructions go to Toads web site as they are available as a pdf download. If its not opening one door it could be a loose wire or maybe a problem with the central locking of the car itself, actuator maybe or vac pipe off.
