If smudge is not interested is Yours but he has first bid if he want it. 25 quid collected. Ok, ill take it. You free Sunday night? Smudge. Should be a good job as they have a good rep. A friends Rallye is in there and he mentioned seeing a Corrado in. I would love to get a respray but I live in the centre of town so Ive lost patience with keeping the car nice. Newly painted wings lasted 2 weeks before getting damaged. Going to be function over form for me now thats if I ever get the MOT. If not Im breaking the bugger or swapping for a standard VR.

Do they not teach the green cross code any more...?

Just hit them, they wont do it again.... -
I might be interested in that, no postage required. Oh and smudge where you getting your car done?

Im not really that sure on them to be honest looks wise. I little bit too fussy like most modern cars now. No doubting the ability, I wouldnt buy one if I had the cash though.

Well I am confused with these bloody lambda's as well to tell the truth. I was aware I need the 2 PRE cat lambdas which are wideband and actually measure the fuel mixture etc whereas the 2 POST cat were there to just check the cats are working. Now to me PRE cat is between the exhaust manifold and cats and the POST cat are after the cat leading out to the back of the car, correct? I run the 2 PRE cat lambdas as normal but I then need to get the 2 POST cat lambdas flashed from the ECU otherwise it will throw fault codes and will go in to limp mode. I bought a lambda off ebay which was brand new and was described as a PRE cat one, touch wood it's the right one, just need the other one now, will have to go VW for that which will be costly :( They are just there for monitoring and your right the ECU does need to be told to ignore them (not sure how thats done) which has apparently been done on mine. I am still getting open circuit faults through VagCom so the car could be going into limp mode. Ive got a few other fault codes which are apparently ok but as a friend said the ECU probably wont like any fault codes. Personally I would run the standard cats and put in both sets of lamdbas i.e. keep as much of the standard set up as possible.

All I'll say is make sure you run the rear lambda's, still having greif with mine at the moment and I think its down to that.

Ive been through almost every size and width and the standard 15in is the best by far for overall performance. Dont looks the best mind you but function over form and all that.

VR6 Written off by idiots with concrete blocks

:mad2: little shits. Just thank yourself lucky you were not on a motorbike. -
Brand new CAT as it had a decat before and it had a good spanking before going in for re-test. Im getting it tested again with the MAF disconnected to see what difference that makes. So even though the error codes are coming up on Vagcom the ECU could potentially be ignoring them through the remap? I really need to get more clued up with this side of it. The more I find out about the Custom code stuff the less I like. I struggle to get 270miles to a tank (since I got it) and thats 50% motorway driving. I suppose the good thing is that it flys at the moment so when I get it running right is should be even better.

Right guys Im having real issues getting my car through MOT due to emissions. Ive had a CAT fitted but it made next to no difference. The car is running about 3% CO and 300ppm HC, way higher than it should. The car is running a standard VR CAT with both rear lambda probes taken out. I had a log done that brings up the following codes, 17834 EVAP Purg valve - open circuit 17841 2ndar air pump relay - open circuit 17530 Bank2 rear lambda - open circuit 17526 Bank 1 rear lambda - open circuit How have people worked round not running the rear lamdba's? Spoke to PSI who said the map they put in the car should do this (Custom Code) however a knowledgable friend suggest suggests that the rear lambda codes are putting the car into limp mode and hence the over fuelling. The wires are not there for the rear lambdas so I cannot get them attached. The car is the same as when I picked it up in that there is no performance difference and the fuel consump is the same therefore Im wondering if it been like this all along.

Vagcom still works and just by chance I have a friend who did a log a few weeks back. Spoke to him tonight and it looks like the two lambda's after the CAT have not been accouunted for during the remap and they are coming up as open circuit. Therefore the car may have been running on the limp mode since Ive had it. :mad2: This would explain the excessive fuelling that Im seeing and to be honest have seen since Ive had the car. I just thought it was due to the remap. Will phone PSI tomorrow to see what they say. Will not be impressed if they have missed that out. Not good spending all that money and not being able to MOT the car. Hopefully I can get the lamda codes cleared somehow and the car running properly. On the plus side the fitting of the CAT has taken the raspy edge of the exhaust note and its much more subtle. All I would say is that if I was doing it myself I would have run the 4motion dual CATs to run the 4 lambdas.

My car failed its MOT last week on emissions but I expected that as no CAT was fitted. I had one fitted today and there is not really that much difference. The car was converted last year to a 24v and has two lambda's on the downpipe, the other two were deleted. Its failing on both HC and CO levels. The CO levels are still very high. The car did have a custom code remap and I did think it was running slight rich but Im stumped on what to do next. Maybe a new map which wont be cheap or does it sounds more like one or possibly both lambda's? CO level is 3.71% (0.30%) and HC is 300ppm (200ppm).

I meant there not only two of them. Ive probably had about 13-15 changes of wheels this year.

So it looks stupidly low then like a 4x4  When I do notice things like non-factory chrome mouldings, please shoot me :|

Smaller rear spoot is needed as well. Looks much better now.

Those guys videos are amazing. Personally i dont really like the Bora either and its nothing new. Doesnt float my boat.

Cool, if i ever stop arsing about with bikes I'd like to pick up a Mk2 for this sort of thing. Id throw away the big bumpers and go small bumper. Loved my old 8v Mk2's. Also if you polish it there will be less wind resistance so it may be quicker

Ok my car failed MOT today on emissions which I kind of expected seeing as it has a decat. I have a CAT to fit however there is no lambda in the decat as the frst one is further up the downpipe. Im going to fit a CAT to the car but I will need to blank of the hole for he 2nd lambda. Does anyone know the thread or where to get blanks? I thought Jetex did them but cannot find them. Will fitting an old probe that is disconnected be ok? FYI the levels were Fast idle CO% 5.11 (limit 0.30) HC ppm 320 (limit 200) CO @ idle was 4.03

Comes backs to the old saying Power is nothing without control.

Mmm brave doing that to what at the time seemed a good shell. I'll be honest and say I would never do that as the car will always need wide wheels from now on to look right. I had the same problem with a white G60 regards the sill about 6-7 years ago and its still running about so I woudlnt worry to much.

Pete Griff's 'Rado R32 - (Not quite!) Alive at last! :D

I can totally understand this. Having put all that effort in for someone to come along and reap the benefits of your hardwork would be hard to take. At the end of the day its only a car. -
Wings done. MOT soon :( Treating myself to a new race bike at the weekend so if you see that Passat in or around Wigan give me a toot.

A guy came in to work today, and he was called.......

The guy that used to run the Peugout and Citroen WRC teams was also called Corrado. -

If your still with Halli's probably a guy that used to work for Welldynamics. Ive met him as well.
