    VR6 wanted

On the look out for another car and considering another Corrado. Not looking for any rust buckets or projects. Something decent but doesn't have to be mint or show worthy. What have you got?
  2. The blue Ferrari.............just shows money cant buy you taste.
  3. I almost bought a red Evo2 about 7-8 years ago. Good condition and its was £13k......be looking £30k+ now. Missed the boat on that one. Have to admit I was back looking at them last year when considering I had to get one before they become silly prices but decided they already had and that I wouldn't enjoy driving it due to that. They do seem robust enough, its just some areas of rust to look for but that's it. They don't seem that much worse than other cars of that era. Just shows what motorsport providence does for a car.
  4. Exactly, the £10-20k bracket can get you some utterly amazing cars just as emotive and rare as the Corrado. Put it this way how many on hear would hand on heart say they would spend say £15k on a Corrado regardless of condition/mileage/spec or go buy something else?
  5. 140k is nothing to them, that ones had all the bits replaced on it. Ive had mine 4 years and its cost less in maintenance than some of my Corrado's. I'll argue its probably a more sought after car than a Corrado...anyway its not an RS4 against Corrado topic I was merely pointing out what you could buy. It is all relative, they are fairly cheap if you just maintain it. Hell if someone wants to pay 5 figure sums for one go ahead, I just think its not worth it. That grey VR6 that sold last week was a good example that is probably as good as if not better than this black one but hey its probably on twice the mileage which in reality means nothing.
  6. Nope don't have one anymore. I love them and always smile when I see one on the road but have tried quite a few other cars.
  7. To put it into perspective you could buy this then get a tired Corrado as well with cash let over. http://audisrs.com/about66029.html That's a one off factory colour as well, with all the expensive bits replaced. This is why I just don't think its justified. There are so many other rare and coveted cars for that sort of money that are, and I know this is going to pee people off, better. The best thing about the Corrado is that it was an affordable older car that drives really well and its relatively inexpensive to maintain therefore accessible. The way things are going its going the other way and that what makes me a little sad.
  8. I can see me having to sell the 911 earlyish next year to pay for some house work on the condition that I get something a cheaper to replace so I could well be interested.
  9. It could have almost been me writing this gallery thread as well.... LM's looks spot on.
  10. Slightly different, that won the group B rally world championship. I'm kind of playing devils advocate to be honest. As with anything it's worth what people are prepared to pay. Agree with Kev that if your reason for buying is money then your not a car enthusiast.
  11. Not really, I do think a car like that commands a premium to an extent but its just massively higher than other VR's seem to the selling for and in reality its not any better. It may have less wear and tear on bodywork/interior but whats the point in having something that is so mint you cant use it and enjoy it. You'd be just as well having £10k of gold or silver sitting in your garage. I agree prices have been low over last few years. As I said I love these cars but I just cant get my head round a 5 figure price for them when there had been no real change in the market for them. I think people have filtered down to these cars as they cant afford other appreciating cars and used the "its old, low mileage and one owner principal so it must be worth a lot more" idea. That my opinion anyway but Ive never been one to think low mileage means its worth more considerably more.
  12. That's good to hear. I love Corrado's but I still think paying 10k for a standard one is mental regardless of condition.
  13. How you finding the C4s? Im loving mine, could be a little faster but still fast enough to scare me at times, especially the rate at which it can corner.
  14. Bloomin hell, must have started this after I moved away as I didn't realize it was so big.
  15. Looks good, is Glamis a classic car show now? It used to be a vintage farming thing with some cars. I was brought up about 4 miles from it.
  16. Have you ever replaced the exhaust manifold? Just thinking out the box a little but maybe its that, some sort of resonant frequency from the exhaust gasses on that particular car. All my Vr's have been noisey to an extent, its just the way they are.
  17. To be fair thats a lot more than a service. Would make a perfect base for a track car with all that done. Sunroofs are rubbish anyway. They weigh a lot, leak and break. A moonroof is only acceptable option I think other than not having one IMO.
  18. £10k....madness for a std VR IMO even in this condition.
  19. Going next year but never been so looking into best options. Ive got a circa 600 mile drive before I even get to ferry so trying to work our best way. My brother stays in Poole so might try and get the Ferry from there to Cherbourg. How quickly do things like camp sites have to be booked?
  20. I did say my next Corrado would be a blue Storm.....I'll wait until this is finished. ☺
  21. Guilty by association then.....many of my friends do things I don't agree with.
  22. That was one of my concerns but I always vote with what I best believe to the question in hand however that was the only thing that was on mind.
  23. I think whats stark from this is the nature in which the UK voted i.e. geographical areas and also the apparent age differences. My vote was 50% on how it would affect me and 50% on how it could affect my kids when they grow up. I don't do twitter but some in the office have been showing me some brilliant tweets that sums up the whole thing. Franky Boyle seems to be giving some good ones out.
  24. Remain in EU as part of the UK, not on our own. That's what the vote was. I think to be part of EU but as an independent country may be a different result. Its done so we must get on with what needs to be done and work together.
