  1. 964, 993 = get your chequebook out. I remember a few years ago a 964 Carrera would have been around £15k, now about £30k minimum. 993 even more.
  2. If your serious look at the Hartech page for the reasoning behind the issues and a buyers guide. Unfortunately the engine issues seem to affect the similar aged Boxsters as well. I tried the 911 thinking it would be a semi 4 seater but trying to get in and out the back would have been a PITA even for small kids. The best buy IMO is an Mk1 Boxster 3.2S, they arguably give you better handling, cheap to buy at the moment and you have that soft top option as well. There not much slower than a 911 costing double if not treble and the engine is known to be good. My friend ran one as daily even through the winter and it cost him no more than a normal car would have. Remember the 996 is basically a car designed around 2000 so they do feel a little old. Still love them but if I was to get Id save up a little more and get a Gen.2 997 or 996 turbo.
  3. Yep, S4 daily, S2 for fun and RS4 is a proper project/keeper.
  4. Issue is 996 and 997 Gen.1 cars have the real chance that the bores scores on them. Its a real issue. I wouldn't buy one that hadn't been inspected and even then it can apparently happen quickly. Looking at £6-7k for a rebuild. I was looking at 996 C4S or maybe an early 997 C2S and 997 was a nicer car. I couldn't trade my S4 in for one as believe it or not it was faster, sounded almost as good and was actually just as much fun to drive.
  5. Tried a 997 Carrera a month or so back. Very nice car, not the quickest but did feel a lot more special than the Corrado would. Different league to be honest.
  6. Last clean in my possession, new owner hopefully happy with it and picking it up tomorrow. The S2 is a different beast, I much prefer the power delivery on it. It is more of a handful but no less fun.
  7. Yeah Ive done everything with a Corrado so need something to keep me interested Im afraid. Yeah they guy is getting a bargin considering the bits on it. Wings were bought from BillCor, they have lips rolled and sealed. There is one or two little paint chips, would need to double check over all condition. I think I paid £70 for them so would look for the same and would prefer pick up. Ive put only pic of them at the moment. Sill section are also shown. Stainless straps were from group buy a couple of years back and have sat in the box since. Again probably looking for around what they cost me. Oh and this is what has replaced it. Always wanted one so thought the time was right, sounds lovely and feel very different to the C which is what I needed. Handles better than I thought it would as well. Not as good as the C but its got that turbo kick I love. Rarer and hopefully an appreciating car not that I bought it as an investment.
  8. Deposit taken, should be away next week. I will have the following left over that will get sold on but wont do anything with these until the car is gone for sure this time. - Full set of hard brake lines from ABS controller back. (Chris had first dibs on these) - Stainless Tank straps. - 2 aqua blue wings - 2 x Headlights - set of rear lights - 90m front splitter, slightly cracked. - OE sill repair sections. - Polybush set. - Couple of steering wheels. - Pair of wing mirrors. - Front subframe. - Schroth 4 belt harness' that use original seatbelt clips - drivers and passengers side.
  9. I would say that about right for an RS200. Quattro Sports are going for around that now and Im sure a Delta S4 sold for about £175k. Group B cars a different league from an RS500 Id say.
  10. Old Fords always seem to command very high prices, which I kind of understand. The RS500 does have a very good competition history but that price is daft. I reckon their chancing their luck that someone will come in with even half that. The 70's/80's motorsport pedigree cars are rocketing at the moment, the bubble will burst though I reckon.
  11. Not sure how to reduce advert but price is now £2250 for car or £2650 including all spares. I have another car so this has to go.
  12. Ive tried a few of the highly rated tyres on my RS and currently have the F1 Assy2's which are spot on. Im glad someone else is lined up to buy this as the lure of a VR6T was pulling me back again.
  13. Soap and what....polish....clay....whats all these strange words you guys are using?
  14. Remember seeing them a while back, were they in Bulgaria or something like that. Very nice.
  15. After one of these you need something different, in a straight line it would to be something special to beat it but then theres more to a car than just going quick in a straight line. I know what it is and I totally approve of the choice, maybe looking at one myself lol.
  16. Thanks for that, went a few years back and its brilliant.
  17. Always loved this one of mine.
  18. He bought a 4motion Golf as a run around but that's all I know for now.
  19. Lol, if you think Corrado's are expensive.....great choice though. Just pick a good one and it will be easy to run.
  20. I think he will do alright, I don't mind him and at least he appears passionate about cars. People will watch it, it may not be the people that have been watching but Im sure it will be popular. Changing the format slightly would be help with a change as well as naturally everyone will associate back to the old one if they keep it the same.
  21. Yeah I don't believe they are on the go anymore. Stealth do it as well. Prefer to fix things myself if possible, its only intermittent anyway and car is just collecting dust in the garage but would like to fix it if anyone is actually interested in buying the car.
  22. Anyone? This is the elusive one that fits into brake servo.
