Well I paid £1500 for mine but the body aint no where near perfect. Did have a fairly new clutch, new cylinder head and a folder full of receipts. Just passed 123kmiles.

Are you sure about the 5mm spacers and OE nuts? I was thinking of doing the same.

My spolier to make it look like carbon fibre. 8) Only joking, my wheel centres. I went to have a look at a local car acc shop and it had Anthracite metallic which is a Vauxhall :oops: colour. Looked almost perfect. I am always looking to change the car and there seems to be more and more people with the G60 steels so this should be slightly different.

Does anybody know of a dark grey metallic/pearlescent colour. I am looking for a really metallic effect when viewed under sunlight. Oh and it has to be in a spray can and a standard manuf colour.

Should sell it for that. Do you have the original small bumpers as some people dont like the small bumper trim with big bumpers.

I run Eibachs but with uprated shocks and they are ok. I would look at your front top mounts, fornt and rear bumpstops and rear top mounts to be replaced if they havent been for a while.

Well its done and I what a bitch it is to time. Got there in the end and was 1 tooth ou ton the cam to start with and then the cam belt tensioner slackened off when I started it :shock: which got my attention. Had a quick trip but didnt really feel much difference. I think the car reall need setting up.

I will hopefully be able to tell you what the dual exhaust cam is like this weekend. Should be finished by lunchtime tomorrow. So it either smiles or bent valves!! :lol: Ive had the filter, drilled airbox and exhaust since I bought it so dont know if they make any difference. The 16v really need a good number of the mentioned mods to make a difference.

You would be surprised at the amount of good cars kicking about over there. Some real dogs as well. The fact that the normal cars only drive about 50mph makes the vid look even better.

All I have to do is put a reference mark on the chain/chainwheel from the old one and line this up with the new timing mark if you get my drift. I'm just one of those people that doesnt like to mess with things too much as there is more chance of breaking bits.

.. Ahem.. Ignoring the obvious double entendre for now, I just thought I'd comment on your wheels, biggrim. They're probably seriously unfashionable, I know, but I always had a soft spot for those retro looking steel wheels on the old VWs. Looks kinda cool, in an anti-cool way.. :) They'll never catch on :wink: I could never do without the rear wiper. I used my brothers car yesterday (saloon) when it was raining and it just did my head in not being able to see clearly out the back.

I am going to do the dual exhaust cam swap this weekend and I was wondering if I have to take both cams out just to replace the inlet? Can you just take the caps of the inlet and pivot it out? I am trying to do as little as possible.

Hello. My first Raddo was an 8v dragon green Mreg with 47kmiles. Looked great, handled well but it was a bit slow. They were only produced for a year or two at the end of production. I fitted mine with an AMD chip, and supersprint system which helped give the car a lot more midrange. If its an everday car then its ideal.

I think some of 16v boys in earlier posts are either running rocket fuel or have very big hills near them. Mine will do about 125-130 and thats it. On my bike I had an indicted 175mph last week but as I have mucked about with the sprockets it is more like 155-160mph. To be honest I only do this once just to see what it will do. -

Yeah but did he not own this before hand. I remember a programme on Discovery about the Gti and they were interviewing these guys with modded cars such as Mick Clements when he had the Mk1 G60 and that car was on it.
