Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
coullstar replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
Lovely car. That is all you need to do to a Corrado because they just look so good. KISS theory perfectly executed!! -
No he has a standard car with these wheels. I am "looking after" it whilst he is out dodging RPG's in Iraq.
-
Oh dear! Looks like I am going to get me some OZ wheels. My bro has them on his Impreza and they do look good.
-
If you go to the States they are ten a penny!!
-
They need a back to basics type car that offers thrills rather than frills. I know I can do without a sunroof, leccy windows, aircon etc etc if the car is a brilliant drive.
-
Ya bugger, why do deals like that never come along when I have some money!!!!!!
-
Yeah thats what you need. Not sure where to get them though. Do a search? What does your car look like?

Nightmare first day of G60 ownership - please help :o(
coullstar replied to raddo_g60's topic in Engine Bay
Engine doesnt sound to healthy if its knocking, could be bottom end problems. Its not a ticking type noise is it? Tappets? As for the bonnet the release mech can sometimes sitck. Make sure the release handle has returned to its proper position and then go round the mechansim's under the slam panel, lubing them as you go to make sure they are free. If you look in one of the other sections you will see what happens if you drive with a loose bonnet. -
Nice 8)

Just a slightly embaressed happy bunny.
-
Woops, just check the timing and I was 180 out
-
Changed plugs and no difference.   What the fuck is going on!!!!!!!!!! Just checked and there is no spark. If GSF have sent me a faulty sender unit I will be ripping balls off someone.
-
Well I fitted the sender tonight and the car still wouldnt start. The plugs were badly fouled with petrol so I took them out , cleaned them and tried to jump start the car. My mate said that there were puffs of blue smoke coming out the exhaust when I tried to jump the car. Does this just sound like the plugs need replacing? I did not touch anything else. I am not a happy bunny.

Apparently VW have registered the R36 name as they are developing a 3.6 V6 for this car. I dont think it will look like that as that just seems to be photoshopped GTi press photos
-
Dubstar which Schmidts are they? Thats what I am looking at. Surely the rolling radius is the same as the ones I have at the moment maybe very slightly smaller.
-
Was looking at 16" but the 15" have much better chioce in cheap tires. I am also a bit worried about it looking a bit 4x4 as it only lowered 35mm. If the ET is the same as yours then the outer face will sit in the same position as yours.
-
Knowbody!!! Is the offset ok? These things are going cheap as chips.
-
Well I have drilled mine but have also become pissed off with the noise. Its just too loud and makes the car sound faster than it actually is. I have blocked up the holes and replaced the snorkel but I wont know the difference till I get my replacement hall sender fitted. Bloody Camerons VW said it would only take 2 days (that was 3 days ago) and now they are saying 2 weeks. Could have had it from GSF by now!!!
-
Whats 2mm between friends!!
-
the ones I am looking at are ET25.
-
Anybody run 8x15" wheels before? Whats the best offset for a Corrado in these sizes?
-
Its just pulls straight out!! I did this to mine but I am going back to standard as it is actually annoying me now.
-
Sorry I forgot about that. Managed to bodge my other one anyway.
-
Well its definetly the hall sensor. Took the dizzy cap of and it one of the wires is now broken. Car wont fire and wont get a new one till Tues. Still its only £32 from VW. It looks fairly easy to replace.
-
Should the hall sender be mounted on the dizzy? There has been no oil in the dizzy cap as I have been checking it since I replaced it a week ago. Could just be a bad contact? Car wasnt quiet as quick as those pesky VR6's though!
