15/16" Alloy suggestions for green Corrado Storm R32
coullstar replied to CorradoWannabe's topic in Exterior
Some Mk4 16in wheels look good on Corrados and retain the width / offset of the original wheels. Look for Montreal II's or Golf 4motion alloys. I liked mine when I had them on my car. Im looking out for a set of early Golf VR6 wheels at the moment as I reckon if fittied with chrome BBS badges would look really good. -
Let me know how you get on, was going to look for something a but cheaper to run as a daily and this would be perfect!!

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)

RC's are made for the Corrado. Looks great. -
Just bought a new (to me) bike recently and went 2nd hand. Managed to get a 2011 Specialized Rockhopper Comp for about £370. It has a couple of wear marks but otherwise looks brand new. A new set of pads and it will rock.

Might be free on Sat if you want help reading faults, I need to check mine is working as I got a new computer from work and had a few little teething problems with the old one.

Hi, I went on ebay and found a company that manufactured metal spigot rings to fit into the wheels. They were spot on and fitted the car perfectly. It was a while ago but there are still some folks on ebay as I enquired about some not that long ago. Failing that a good machine shop should be able to knock them up.
-
I might do, will have a look. For the C I bought one of those hand held code readers a while ago and just used that to regularly scan it. Saves lugging a computer about.
-
If you want the full works Im afriad not. I only just got one, (2nd hand) and I should have bought one years ago. The older stuff and ebay leads are fine for reading faults though.

I would compare a Nissan to a Skoda these days so Id hate to see what a Datsun would be like!!!

Shouldnt be that much diff with insurance. James, who I bought my VRT from, bought one after the Corrado. Simple remap and you have 260bhp, 4wd. They are solid as well so still feel well built. Only real downside is they do rust. Id own another quite happily.
-
MPG wont be any better. I liked the one I had, they do need the handling sorting out for though. Very competent A-B car, not sure Id change for one though. Remap, Arb's, revised geometry and thats it really.
-
How often do you use it? I had pretty much lost interest in using mine when I had the Scirocco but as Im using mine every other week for commuting I have regained the interest. Not to the same extent that I used to but not to the point where I would sell the car.

Put the car in for MOT, didnt do any prep or check lights etc and it passed with only a couple of minor advisories. Might treat it to a wash for that... -
Good write up, Im famous!

K rust is crap, the deox gel is perfect. You need to wrap clingfilm over it to stop if drying. It works really well and acutally gets rid of the rust. All you need to do is seal the area after with paint then Por15.

Agree with that, my old car was OBDII and running a C2 genenric map and it ran perfectly over the 8000miles I did in the car. -
Is that what Vince said to use? I always used Silkolene in mine but I thinks its been rebranded to Fuchs now.

Not a clue, but its good that they completely different. The Corrado feels very light and you can properly throw it about, its a lot smaller and more of a laugh. The RS is very competent but you do feel the weight, it just eats up the miles. Its a special car, as is the Corrado, just in different ways. -

Took the car for a weeks break over to Skye and Fort William the other week. Weather was crap but roads were awesome. Car ran fine, 666miles door to door. Came out in the morning in Fort William t fine a nice VR6 parked across the road. Reg number ended DPN. I love this thing to bits and the Corrado seem to be running better as Im using it more. Still got to do the gearbox oil, fit Jays engne mounts and fit the short shifter. Ordered a Jetex exhaust for the RS and have some standard downpipe to get rid of the 2 of the 4 cats on these things!! -
Should get my old one sent back in the next day or so. Not fitted mine yet though.
-
Check my thread in my sig, there is a photo of the sump in there. I fitted some springs and dampers so I was only down 40mm so never had any issue but it was always on my mind. Come to think of it when I went to get the gemeni box fitted Vince did say that they engine was tilted slighty towards the rear mount.
-
Was this a PSI car? If so mine was similar so there is a good chance they cut the mounts down.

Got mine at the weekend, will hopefully get the old one sent back this week and fit this at the weekend.
