  1. I dont think the box's are restrictive, its more the bore. I added a 17in long centre silencer to my car but didnt notice any difference in power so I dont think it will make much difference. Ive only removed it as its too big in OD and has caused the downpipe to hit the steering rack.
  2. The two and three box systems will only differ in noise levels. Three box is probably only just louder than standard and 2 box is a nice sound. Im back to running a rear box only 3in system with no cat at the moment. Its bloomin loud in town but doesnt half sound amazing.
  3. Engine looks great. The standard inlet manifold flexes a bit under load so it may crack the paint over time. Im sure it will be ok but its one thing to watch for.
  4. Funny you should say that ive found some of them as well http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT Decent price, Ive heard they are mental for brake dust and disc wear though. Might try the Mintex for now and see what there like.
  5. Not sure they do them for my calipers though. I can find Performance Friction, Pagid Grey etc but there properly track orientated and almost £200 a set. Cant seem to find DS2500 which appear to be the best compromise.
  6. I was looking to change the pads on my Wilwood 6 pots from the EBC redstuff's. They seem ok for the road but were crap on the track. Ive found some M1144's which seem to be good fast road pads but what are they like on the track? Probably be 90% road driving but I dont want them going off on the track.

    4 wd corrado

Sounds very interesting but why twin over a single turbo?
  8. Ive got NGK's in mine but not sure what version. They have been fine for 2kmiles so far. Im working on the car tomorrow so I'll have a look.

Any idea what the core material is? Looks similar to mine but I think the core material and heat was the issue on mine.
  10. Id agree. Depends if you really want 6cyl or not. If its not high on your priority then the S3 is the car to go for. Mine had a Revo remap, Koni Coils, Neuspeed ARB's, Milltek, R32 brakes, full leather and a few other little bits and it would walk away from a 4motion. I love V6's mind you and the 4mo's were always a bit of a bargin compared to the S3 but if they did a V6 S3 Id have one of them.
  11. I think this will turn out to be the best Corrado on the forum. Very impressive.
  12. Very nice, how about putting the brembo badge on but in a matt finish (if the calipers are glos) or possibly very dark grey so you only see it when very close?

Car has sat for about a month and battery is dead. Decided to take the exhaust off and check the turbo, turns out the CAT filter has detached from the ID of the casing and can move a good 1-2inches and the exhaust has been knocking on the steering rack due to the big centre silencer. Im removing the silencer till I find a better fitting one and will have a go at knocking out the CAT material but it seems quite tough. Ive also ordered a bigger air filter to give it a try. Once the CAT is out and new filter on I should be getting back on the same RR to see if this make any difference.
  14. Only major service for R's is every 40k IIRC and thats the haldex filter and oil change. This is not that hard to do though.
  15. Id go on condition rather mileage. Low miles is only better when it comes to resale and if you get it cheaper in the first place with high mileage it should work out the same.
  16. Great if it recognised my address!!!! God knows why but it wont go to delivery.
  17. MPG isnt as good as VR, but there is very little difference. 25-26mpg is what I used to average on a varied roads. 31-32mpg is the maximum Ive ever seen on the ones Ive had. S3 was very similar. My Mk5 Gti is avergaing 29mpg on the same routes so only 4-5mpg better. If your doing 15kmiles a year then it might make a difference but not much. Youve have to go to a diseasel to notice a big difference in your pocket.
  18. As standard neither car will feel that great to be honest. Both need suspension / geometry sorting and a little more power. Point to point the S3 will probably be quicker as standard I would think.
  19. The problem with the high power 1.8T's is that they still have all the power low down. Having owned a few of them and with the VRT experience I much prefer the progressive way the larger engined turbo cars have. Still think a Mk5 R32 with turbo would be amazing. I really only went for the Mk4 4mo option as I love the Qcar thing.
  20. Do a search using the words Stealth and Turbo. Around £4k IIRC.
  21. If you mean the Middle East one I thought it was one of thier better ones. Less about the cars and more about the region they were visiting. Maybe they should start doing some travel programmes.
  22. I wouldnt touch one with a bargepole. My brothers friend bought one and it was quite slow and kept breaking down. He spent a small fortune on it.
  23. Didnt really think it was that good TBH. Was good to Hammond running out of talent though. Out of the 3 Id probably have taken the RS. The SLS didnt wow me as much as I thought it would. I know where I want o go on holiday next year now. VIR!!
  24. Im having the same thoughts i.e. get a Mk5 R in a year or so.
