after reading the last few posts i decided to call the tw@t again...The only thing i am dissapointed about is i didn't record the call. The guy is a first class @%$*-head I hope you are reading this ABDUL (seems like you log into this forum enough..)... and i'm happy for you to "come down to where I live and sort me out, and knock me the fcuk out"... ill be waiting.. and i know where you live too so don't think you can hide behind your multiple addresses you tw@t. Apparently i had the nerve to call him after all the things i had done (i.e post on this forum about how much of a crook he is.... and ruin his name..) In-between all his rude-boy swearing, threats and bull$hit talk, he said he tried to call me. What a load of crap as he has my email and number and not once did he reply to my missed calls or emails... If he did call me and i missed it, there was never a message left nor a text...nothing. Ohh and no explanation as to why he didnt reply to all my original missed calls or emails... hmmm think your tellin porkie pies there $hit-for-brains :wave: Abdul..look forward to meeting you in person...

just to add my experience to this ohh so common issue... My sunroof did the classic "tilt no problems, i'll slide back....BUUUUUT-if-you-want-to-close-me-then-you-are-gonna-have-to-fiddle-my-button-like-you-are-trying-to-find-my a,b,c,d,e,f...spot" routine... :cuckoo: So after endless hours searching and reading the advice of others, i thought i had it sussed as being lack of lube on the runners. I came to this conclusion because as suggested by other poeple, I took the motor off the mechanism and tried to run it without any load to test it. Motor ran as expected and experienced no signs of wear, slow down or any odd noises. Great... So i cracked on and decided to invest in the £23 tube of corrado-sunroof-sexual-healing-grease (G 000 450 02) which is apparently some special grease designed for the sunroof sliding mechanism. On i went and removed the sunroof (very fiddly but actually quite easy - read the multiple guides or invest in a Bentley manual). Didn't really see anything too concerning except a little bit of muck and old dried grease and the usual wear on the runner track (easily identified as the black coating has long gone and it is all shiny metal) So i thought i had cracked it, cleaned off the 15+ years of crud and applied the grease in a military fashion trying to get it in all the important places without over-doing it. I made sure the metal fixing brackets attached to the guide cables had not snapped (but i was fairly sure this wasn't the case else the roof wouldn't slide at all).. check them none-the-less whilst everything is out! Feeling happy with myself I replaced the mechanism into the mardy mare, made sure the mechanism was setup so the roof was parked in the closed position, re-attached the motor and thought...happy days. As you can probably guess...i had failed miserably and upon trying to close the sunroof from its fully open (slide) position it did the same thing :epicfail: (insert muchos muchos swearing and cursing here...) Thought that's it, im gonna get the frikkin welder from the garage and weld the mofo sunroof closed as i had pretty much concluded: CORRADO's ARE JUST NOT MEANT TO HAVE WORKING SUNROOFS! After i calmed down, had my cup-a-tea and some biscuits (mmm biscuits...) i thought it must be the motor...maybe its just not got the torque it used to have. So i got myself a late MK3 golf motor (from a low mileage car and known to be working) and slapped it on the mech. Well rub-my-dub-and-tickle-my-nipple, I went to close the roof and it did it with ease :nuts: So after doing this about 20 times and satisfying myself that it worked...that i actually had a fully functional Corrado sunroof... i was overcome with euphoria (and treated myself to some more biscuits! woof woof) Moral of story - even if your motor seems like it is working as it should, try and borrow a known working one (i.e one that can fully close the sunroof) before ripping everything apart. I am actually not too peeved I went through the process of removing the entire sunroof mech as I know it is all clean and greased up properly. Just not looking forward to trying to get the headining back in as it is in a pretty tatty state. Stupid thing is I will still have that feeling in the back of my mind every time i reach for the sunroof button that my roof will develop some other form of fault! Then i really will get the welder out! Ahh well.. c'est la vie Good luck peoples...

Surely by law they have to have insurance??? What happens if they had a fire and your car got roasted - i am sure they would be claiming on the insurance for the loss? as mentioned by someone else I would get onto trading standards, if not as well as putting in a case to small claims (don't be daunted by this process - i did it and reclaimed thousands from a very well known parts manufacturer/re-seller) Money Claim Online https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk good luck

you can try GPC or Trade Parts Specialists (TPS) or last option is the VW stealers themselves. I did the door rubbers recently - just to warn you..it aint cheap mate currently looking to replace the inner door seal (the one that the door shuts onto to prevent water going into the car itself). Have try using a compound on it where its stained? I forget the make I've got, but its in a white tub. There was a scratch on the front right part of my bumper on my Rado and it was about the size of a credit card and the compound as literally fixed it. Using a compound will also be good for removing the bird poo too and tree resin stuff as well. same happened to ma old man's car. He left this toxic bird diarrhea on the roof for a few days (SERIOUSLY I NEVER SEEN BIRD $HIT LIKE THIS EVER BEFORE!). When i got round to washing it off, it had reacted with the paint and even Farcela G3 cutting compound couldn't get it looking like new (although it was twenty times better than just leaving it after washing off the poop) Pidgeon == Rats with wings! :censored:

not going to say it is a good idea or it is a bad idea...but would a modification like this be covered by your insurance company? Lowered suspension, wide wheels etc are common things done and are covered by specialist insurance firms. Maybe call them and ask them if "trimmed" brake discs would be? Last thing you want is to be involved in an accident and some inspector to scrutinize your brake discs..resulting in you being liable for costs due to not being covered? i think im getting old... :eek:

gonna be trying this myself soon. Any tips on removing the grease, such as any magic cleaning products which help loosen the old stuff. Or is it gonna have to be good old fashion elbow-grease (that's not a joke by the way :D) thanks just about to go get relieved of 20 odd quid for that sunroof lubricant - it better be made from the grease of elbows of workers in VW Wolfsburg for that price! (that still not a joke!)

i am looking to replace the seals on my car as well as they are split and letting water into the seal - not good for the sills! Has anyone else used sealsdirect.co.uk for the replacement seal? From the photos i can see it looks slightly different to the OE one but just need to know what impact (if any) this has on the door closing / shut lines etc..? Also - which seal is it on their website. Closest one i could find is ETS2581 £5.71 per m (works out £65 for 8 meters delivered...) thanks!

Just looking for some help tracking down a guy who sells a lot of Corrado parts so hoping someone on this forum can track him down for me. Background : I saw an ad for some corrado headlights which he said were mint. The photos he sent looked fine and everything was in order. I paid (stupidly in hindesight via PPG). The lights arrived but were battered to death. Before purchasing them i specifically told the seller to send them insured to cover loss or damage in transit. So i contacted the seller and he said he would get onto the couriers to chase the claim. This was over 6 weeks ago now... He is no longer answering his phone and refuses to acknowledge my emails. Can anyone let me know his address please? I think he is located in the Midlands somewhere judging from his accent (unless he has moved from there..) Yeah i second that. Fairly sure the brochure for the Storm (and how dealers put the storm badge on) was to place it to the left of the already applied factory VR6 badge. car looks nice there fella, what is on that long list of things to do? It seems like as you tick things off the list, more are added onto the bottom - well it is in my case anyways :grin:

tried getting a quote from you guys on a Corrado VR6 I'm 29 Years, 4 years NCB, zero points on licence and no fault claims for over 8 years (has someone rear end my last car three years ago but thet was paid out and the other person's fault) Said you wouldnt even be able to match Brentacre's renewal quote, let alone beat it... guess ill stick with Brentacre then...shame really as i have four cars to insure in the household and was looking for a decent quote from other suppliers to compare.

ok... it was a faulty set of relays in my upgraded headlight loom caused by water ingress. Swapped them out for some new ones and tried to water tight the connections. All good now! not bad considering the old relay's lasted three years and still actually worked when i ripped them out yesterday.

Hi, just noticed something really strange on my car. The full beam led/light on the instrument cluster is permanantly on! It was not like this before and im sure it has just happened recently. Basically even with the key out of the ignition and therefore the engine off, the led is lit. If i turn the car on and engage full beam, it just lights up brighter (as you would expect if you were to put on the main beam). If i then take full beam off, it goes into the on, but slightly dimmer state. Starting to worry that there is something very strange going on. I did recently do the headlight ground fuse modification to prevent any loom fires like what has been reported recently. When i completed this mod, everything worked fine and the main beam led worked as normal (i.e completly off when main beam was not engaged). All my lights function normally as well so nothing odd there. We have had a lot of rain recently so wondering if this could be to blame? Even now i am worried that the stupid light that is on will be draining my battery whilst i am not using the car... :cuckoo: Any ideas guys? Maybe it is the intrument cluster (they are knocking on 143K so maybe they have had their day?) cheers

nope i can confirm i heard the same rumour from a guy i know who works in TPS.... so i think this story holds some water. We need spyshots!!!

anyone else love the production on that video? The VR engine/inlet one-piece cover which comes in around 4:30 is uber cool too! Now that aint just slammed and wide deep dish wheels, that is unique...
