Headlining / Sunroof aperture trim - recolouring
monzablau16v replied to monzablau16v's topic in Interior
thanks for the tips guys. As for my headlining and the visors (take a look at my thread here: My build thread) jimbobbalooba - have you got any photos of how your headlining and this bit in particular came out after using the fabric spray you mentioned? I looked through your blog but couldn't see any photos - although i did see the one where you had a fight with the garage door..and lost! cheers again! -
Hi, i am in the process of retrimming my interior in black (it is currently the standard light beige/grey). One of the items i need to sort out is this: its the "seal" or trim that goes around the sunroof aperture in the headlining which is mostly rubber, but also has a felt-type material. Can anyone tell me what the material it is made of so i can find a suitable spray/dye to get it matching black to the other items i am doing? Has anyone done this before, if so what did you use and where did you get it from? thanks!

Led backlit Heater Control panels for late Corrados
monzablau16v replied to RadoVirgin's topic in Group Buy Feelers
very interested in green with blue/red heater temp. control photo taken from the thread on vortex forum as per first post. (hope im allowed to do that, if not i'll remove the link) cheers -
also check the sensors on the oil cooler housing. My tem sensor had cracked just where the spade connector attches and was pi%%ing oil everywhere - but was only evident when the throttle was open. New oil temp sensor cured it and no more sodding oil all over the bottom of the car.

Mystic Blue Storm - MYLene - CAR NOW SOLD
monzablau16v replied to monzablau16v's topic in Members Gallery
thanks for all the comments, it's taking ages...but i'm getting there. Havn't managed to get to the driver seat yet, although i do have a genuine repair bolster sat waiting for me to get around to it. I am in two minds to get it done prefesionally, just as it is so worn and as good as the furniture clinic stuff is, i think it needs a retrim in new leather. Car needs a good clean and buff at the moment, but the underside is very good. Just one or two very small patches of the underseal have come away, which i touched in with some replacement underseal, sills are all good too. Just spent the whole day trying to get the interior C pillar plastic done in alcantara - WHAT A COMPLETE PITA, but managed to get it done. That leaves the other C pillar and the two B pillars to do, then i can get it all fitted. Couple of issues I need to figure out right now: 1) Sunvisors are currently the original beige/grey. Dont think i can retrim them myself as they look proper hard to do without looking poo. Are there any alternative VAG models with black visors that i can retrofit??? 2) The "rubber" interior surround that goes around the sunroof recess and the headlining is also beige/grey... it will look faily naff if that cant be colour matched. Need to think how to do that really.... did they ever do them in black??? ta -
hi mate. can you tell me if it is fully working (i.e the light illuminates) and also if there are any missing/broken tabs on the item? Does it also still have the two metal little "clip" on ether side which keeps it snug into the dash recess? if it is in working order and doesnt have any issues then ill take it (if you have photos of the item then please also send them across) thanks

Bump..still looking for one of these if anyone has one?

love the Red Bull U-turn on "team orders" .... think someone needs to go back and check what they have said in the past... im no fan of it and didnt approve when Ferrari did it before and dont like what RB tried to tell Mark yesterday. Fair game to Mark though.. he just ignored them :) great race though... really thought Massa was going to take Hamilton on that last corner - now that is proper racing excitement.

I used a local windscreen company to remove them and reinstall them. Can't remember exactly how much it was for just the quarters, but I know removal and reinstallation of windscreen and both quarter windows came to £100 in total.

New Corrado VR6 Storm Owner - How do you know a Storm is a Storm?
monzablau16v replied to c0vert's topic in Newbies Hangout
Hi mate, its not hard at all to fake a storm buy buying badges. One thing i noted with my Storm when i had the interior out was that the metal bodywork had the word "Mystic" hand written on it in black marker pen (hidden under the center tunnel carpet and sound deadening!). I guess the folks at the factory had an interesting way to mark the intended colour of the vehicle as it went down the production line towards the spray booth! Also in my log book it actually states "Mystic Blue" as the colour, therefore it is easier to confirm a Mystic Storm is 'genuine' as that colour only came on the Storms. Sorry it doesnt help with you as i think classic green was also available on non-Storms... good luck anyhow! -
Right after a looooooong time sitting in my garage collecting dust.. these wheels are going on! Just three quick questions: 1) Anyone know the correct torque setting for the adapter-to-hub bolts? 2) Is it a good idea to thread lock the adapter-to-hub bolts? 3) What is the correct torque setting for the wheel nuts (not bolts...I have the H&R DRM system which has studs that go through the wheel nut holes and then nuts are used to tighten the wheel to the adapter face) Muchos gracias!

Ok cheers Alex, thinks mi laptop needs a rebuild (not bad as it hasn't had one for three years-good for a windows OS!) :) -
anyone ever used ebay seller car-parts-market for the mirror glass ? they have a listing for stick on, convex heated glass: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLKSWAGEN-CORRADO-1988-1995-CONVEX-HEATED-MIRROR-GLASS-/370483591695?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item56428afa0f working out to be about £10 per side. If someone can vouch for their quality and fit, then i may go for these...Fond believer on trying to keep to OEM/original items.. but £80 for some glass is beyond me... thanks!
