  1. Cheeky chappy offer of £650 for the seats? :D Ohh come on you all know you want them too lol
  2. my bro used to work there back in the day. He "borrowed" their Ferrari a few times ... lovely motor with a nice sound. Always reminded me of Magnum PI :)
  3. hi mate... im after : 1) HeadLights [£50] as long as : -they are the later ones (looks like it from your other photos - but just wanted to make sure!) -all mounting tabs intack (none broken or repaired) -the height (light level) adjuster must be working on both units (its the white screw knob on the back) - this is essential so please check thoroughly -reflector is ok - no rust or other issues -glass not cracked or chipped - no condensation occurs inside the unit - there are no other cracks or issues - also how were they tinted - spray or film? feel free to PM me more photos of the items if you think that highlights any potential issues. I am looking for a really good set of lights with everything working and looking as they should be. If there is anything that you think is not quite right, please let me know or take a snap. 2) door handles with new striker [£10] - think im third in line after Ian, sorry didnt see the post above as we must have been typing at the same time! - are these original VW ones or aftermarket repos? - i assume they are later ones linked to CL (they have the wire on the back) - any marks or damage to them? - assume they come complete with the barrels / locks inside them I can arrange a courier to collect, but i would need you to package up the items - especially the lights REALLY securely. thanks!
  4. Looking good mate. Gotta love the look/feel and "smell" of freshly powder coated metal parts lol Nice write up, your commentary made me laugh :)
  5. Got a few in my post over in the members thread...after the respray. Needy get more up really but waiting for a good opportunity to take some nice snaps (and a nice location/setting!)
  6. Cheers, guess I'll start the tracing process!
  7. I been searching for ages and the only ones i can see for Passat, Octavia or any other VAG model is either the same as mine (first pic in beige) or the black one, but without sunroof option (pic two). I'd love to be proved wrong though!
  8. cheers guys Crispy - that was exactly what i thought about first, but there was no way id be able to make them so accurate as the items are fairly small and the narrow curves make it difficult to trace with paper (i think if i had those types of skills id give up my day job and become a heart surgeon! lol) I even thought about just making a square paper stensil to mask off the decal. This would leave the grey bit just behind the actual decal, so you would only see grey where the actual logo was and everything else would be black. Thing is it would pi%% me off seeing that little bit of grey every time i pressed the buttons or looked up lol Alex - those links look very interesting. Going to look into them a bit more. Was thinking I just need a way of getting the actual images onto computer. Thinking I may have to bodge it : 1) Take a high res photo of the items close up / macro 2) Save to PC 3) use photo editing package to trace each individual decal 4) Print onto that funky paper (although havn't figured out how to print "white".. guess id just have to use grey???) 5) apply Unless someone has a novel way to breaking into VW's archives to download a nice 1:1 scale EPS of the original decals? ahh the joys of being OCD :)
  9. Hi - can you get any pics of these please? I was toyin with getting the laminex stuff. Any feedback from someone who has tried both the laminex and the protectors? cheers
  10. happens to us all and i feel for you mate. I had a freshly built 2L ABF 16V in my old MK2 snap the cambelt after only 500 odd miles ON THE WAY TO GTi international! Engine was all built up by a VERY reputable firm (not mentioning anyone's names...) using genuine parts ... but at the end of the day what can you do? Got the car towed to my uncles garage, whipped the head off (4 bent valves). Had a spare 16V head sent up the next morning, swapped the valves over and changed a few sundries. Total time it took was about 6 hours and I drove the car home 150 miles - didnt miss a beat since for over two years after that point - until some complete jizzmonkey rear ended it and wrote the car off (sadest day of my life!) But as i said i know the pain - we have all been there and it seems like you never get a break sometimes hey? Good luck whatever you decide mate
  11. Right ... this is a total long-shot, but here goes. Does anyone know if it is possible to buy/acquire the little decals on the interior switches? I am in the process of retrimming my interior in black alcantara and one thing which is really bugging me is that the interior light and sunroof switch + surround is beige. The later Corrados didnt get a black option so i was thinking of spraying the items with black plastic spray. However, i dont want to do this unless i can retain the decals. I know "white" decals exist as they were used in the earlier cars... They may not even been "decals" or stuck on as they almost look like they are etched or sprayed onto the plastic. see - told you it was a long shot :) thanks!
  12. Hi, anyone help me with a few items i am looking for? I posted a wanted in the classified http://the-corrado.net/classifieds.php?do=viewitem&itemid=827 Basically I am after two items: 1) Rear doorcard fixing "plug". It is the bit that the screw attaches through the doorcard and into the actual chassis. 2) Seatbelt plastic cap in black satin (the bit that coverss the bolt that secures the seatbelt bracket to the B pillar) See the link to the wanted classifeds for the EKTA photos of each item i need thanks! H
  13. cheers guys. Just waiting for one last bit to be completed and then i can start the process of putting it all back together.
  14. Bought an ABS light from bernie1033. Communication was speedy and item was delivered very well packed. Great guy to do business with - cheers!
  15. chin up mate.... hope it gets sorted soon good luck!
  16. yup, my oil temps top out at 106 after a really long drive with some "enthusiastic" drivng and then "normal" in-town driving. I thought the temp dropping to below 75 was a little more strange - usually once the engine is warm it rarely goes below 95 on my VR... Hence why i thought it may be dodgy sensors. But as mentioned above by RW1 - test your fan voltage and see what's happening there. Fuel smell defo sounds odd - get that checkout out ASAP as fuel fumes are nicht so gut for the brain.
  17. Temp sensors could be faulty so you could try changing them? Get gen VW ones though (TPS should be cheaper than VW direct if you can get trade discount) good luck! p.s here is a link to the part numbers if you do want to change the sensors http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?32049-How-To-VR6-Thermostat-Housing-Replacment&p=448752&viewfull=1#post448752 I would also change the oil temp sensor that sits on the oil filter housing...

  19. Sunvisors are a little tricky. The passengar side with the illuminated mirror is actually the easier of the two as the actual mirror pops out and therefore any spray or retrimming can be performed and the mirror reinserted. The driver side with the slider is a PITA! Havn't figured out how best to do this, but check out RAMS' post which shows how his were retrimmed in leather the little clips that the visors sit into and rotate on are another conundrum... think i may try some plastic primer then some black spray. I'll leave the actual 'contact' area free of paint as it would probably just chip off the first time I try to pull down the visor from its flat resting position.
  20. far too much at the moment - i loooooove the feeling of Alcantara in the morning lol
  21. welcome aboard mate, look forward to any assistance you can provide us crazy Corrado owners losing the constant battle of obsoleted parts! ... "you come in peace, you go in pieces" .. sorry bad reference to an old Dolph Lundgren film :)
