can someone confirm the definitive list of converting the rear brakes to 280's, which i presume is what this thread is? or are mk4s smaller? basically you need: vr6 carrier mk4 caliper goodridge mk2-mk4 hose mk4 handbrake cable (with clip) replacement bolts for those stupid allen key ones you snap off brake fluid 280 disc would that be about it and its all pretty straight forward task? if so any chance someone could set up a page on wiki as pianowire/kevwire/cheesewire did a thread with pictures for the conversion

yea, best of luck to you. doubt you will need it, looks like its just tidying everything up now. can't wait to see it going!

Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!
swiftkid replied to CoxyLaad's topic in Members Gallery
yay! i can help out someone who has just converted a corrado to a 3.2 4wd lol :D :D i now feel clever lol anyway try this website, has all part numbers plus dates etc, only thing it doesn't have is the colour, cant find that website http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/vw2.htm -
oh god no, i've only just upgraded to coils from 4x4... never again! basically the spring has the same spring rate no matter how high or low you jack your car up with the adjusters, the adjusters only adjust the height of the car. if you remove the helper spring it will just lower the car, your best bet like kev said is to get longer springs

Try AVS or gsf, avs are febi bilstein which i believe is pretty much the same as VW stuff but renamed.

+1... or does a lack of post mean bad news? +2... or hes out driving it :D

good point, although my suggestion was an answer to his question rather than using my own common sense... fail on my part
-
im sure someone will come along with help on how to actually do it and there are plenty of results from the search but the best advice i can give you is take your time, don't rush, use the right tools and don't buy cheap crappy parts.

get a lower temp fan switch, also you can get a lower temp thermo stat (so it opens at a lower temp). My old rado had a switch for the fan so i could turn it on anytime which was useful because once i was in traffic i really didn't enjoy waiting patiently for the fan to kick in. not sure about the metal parts but perhaps gruven (i think thats what they are called) might do something of use

what no pics?!

i don't think they are the innox ones, i bought mine on the back to 95 prices and it cost me £630 i think from gwerks. i would seriously advise you to splash out though, i was in a position to sell my corrado as it didn't have the same appeal to me as the old one and now i absolutely love it!

no problems rob, gutted it hasn't cured it but at least you have a spangly r32 pedal to look pretty :D sounds very odd that its running fine but not revving, could it be something to do with the throttle body?
-
don't tell me, your putting the wind scarf system from a mercedes in it...
-
such a tease! there should be a 'jay renshaw how to section'
-
i reckon a write up of how-to on the climate control is needed, theres only soo much a sunroof and windows can do with temperature.
-
link doesn't work
-
check the earths, especially the one at the front attached to the starter. put ignition on and see if it gets hot
-
its that magical name added to the title... "r32", the equivalent or writing 'rare' on edition or 'mk2 golf bbs'
-
it is indeed the sacred pedal! are you wanting it or are you going to wait until yours arrives?
-
oh... well in that case you ain't having my r32 pedal with part no. 1k2 721 503 n

UPDATE: Parts needed for clutch change etc?
swiftkid replied to Jim Bowen's topic in General Car Chat
depends how far you want to go on getting bits replaced. its very daunting looking at a full engine in your bay and thinking you need to take it out but its alot easier then you think. once the gearbox is off it is literally a piece of cake to do the chains and there is a guide on how to do it that is absolute perfection on vortex. i reckon you could put a new clutch on it and do the chains for the right side of £6-700 if you did it yourself. -
yea ok mate ill have a look tonight. just wondering actually, what are you doing with the MAF off your old engine?
-
Oh you have GOT to be joking me!? i was down in kettering over the weekend and i have a mk5 golf R32 pedal that i don't need :( I know thats a bit of a kick in the nuts for you but if you do need one i can check part no. tonight for you.

have a word with D&G about rebuilding, i've heard nothing but good things from them on here. I rebuilt my engine myself and it cost near on £1000 and thats without labour cost obviously, but the engine feels unbelievably smooth. It really depends what you want out of the car, if you are happy with the power and jus like the VR6 then get it rebuilt, if your looking for more power then maybe time to think about 2.8/3.2 it. I would seriously advise ALOT of research if you are though or ask someone to do conversion for you
