  1. Im trying to sell my girlfriends mini. Basically I've been contacted by someone (allegedly) from malta. They have seen the car on pistonheads. > Hi Alex, > Ive seen your advert and im interested in your car. Does it have personalised number plates? because I am sending you this email from Malta and would like to purchase as quick as possible. I will be paying in cash, any discounts for this?. > Thanks, > Christabelle > > My Phone No: 79266736 I WROTE Hi Christabelle If you can come and put £7500, in english notes, in my hand its yours. The numberplates are not personalised. Thanks for you're interest, Alex REPLY So do you have the v5 documents? Because if we make a deal i will not be coming to pick it up myself, since I have sent the money to an English friend and he will pick it up for me and then ship it to Malta himself. So you will just be involved with the selling of the car. He will pay you right away. Before any compromises however, I would like to see some pictures of the interior please. Thanks I WROTE I do have the v5 yes, I've attached the only interior picture I have at the moment. I can get some more at the weekend as I get back from work in the dark. My concern is with all the scams currently going on, unless somebody arrives to pick up the car with the full cash amount then im afraid we are wasting our time. Thanks, Alex REPLY Tomorrow i will contact the person who will pick it up, so that he will phone you himself to settle everything. Can you please send me your address and phone number so i can phone you tomorrow. The English guy i told you about, can come pick it up whenever you are available, preferably this week since the trailer will be leaving UK next Thursday. So now I have no idea whether to take this seriously or not, obviously im not about to send them my full address. The car is very modified so stands out (personally I think it would be a waste of time importing a standard mini) so could this be legit. If not does anyone have any ideas how this is going to go tits up! Lots of thanks in advance, Alex
  2. Im down in swanage and would be over in bournemouth more often if I could get on the bloody ferry! There does seem to be loads of corrados around here though. Tidyvag.co.uk has quite a few corrados on it.
  3. Dont change the colour of the wheels they look awesome!
  4. I've got a becker headunit in my car but have to unplug it when I park up or the battery goes flat. Does anyone know what wires I need to swap over? Ta
  5. They should take to redrilling without any problems so long as the mounting face is flat (which I think it should be.) I personally think its safe as long as its done properly with the existing holes filled. The biggest problem you may face is finding somewhere to do it without asking silly money. I have always wanted to see these on a corrado, am tempted to try it myself!
  6. Hello Kaz, Cars in pieces at the moment! To be honest it has been for a while. Loads of little disasters so I decided to go to town on it. Absolutely none of them are to do with the engine though, promise. Mostly interior. Should be together in a few weeks, next year for edition! Soon as its drivable I'll give one of you a ring and arrange a time to come down.
  7. *Off the website* It is held on the second Sunday of each month and is located next to DFS in the Wessex Gate Retail Park, Poole, Dorset, BH15 3TE off Holes Bay Road and starts from 1500hrs (3pm) in the summer months and 1400hrs (2pm) during the winter months. I go now and then, depends on the state of the car really, seems to be in bits all the time.
  8. Yeah the numberplate doesnt really suit the car anymore  I was getting quotes of £5000 to £6000 for the engine so was pretty pleased with what I paid.
  9. Ha ha yeah the dishes on my wheels shine for about half an hour then rust up! Guess the uk isnt the best place for shiny wheels. looked pretty clean on yours though. Im in swanage, do you ever go to tidyvag?
  10. ...Well its in bits at the moment! Interior is being given a major tart up, fitted a moonroof and Got some new wheels, cleaning bbs SUCK, so I'm getting shot of them! Hopefully It'll be all together in a week, its been sat outside for 2 months in pieces doing my head in and I cant wait to drive it again. I honestly cant remember how much the engine work came to, I'll dig the receipt out. Was around £3000 I think. Really gonna hate taking the bbs off but to be honest I'm bored of them and what I've got waiting to go on are pretty special. Thanks for the love. :camp:
  11. I has been done. Theres a few old threads on it. Also astra gte dash has been done. Few things to think about are, Its narrower than the corrado clocks, It reads in kmph and I dont think it can be changed and if you get it done I'm going to steal your car.
  12. I saw this car a few weeks ago in towerpark (I went to see bruno which was a bit of a sausagefest) I couldnt belive how good it looks. Was a bit annoyed that you has the same headunit as me and a full beige interior, which im half way through fitting to mine! Oh well! The Rh's are sick though, do they take much effort to keep shiny?

    what wheels???

According to his ed38 advert they are 16x9 et -1!!!! 5x130 (smallest adapter being 15mm?) Not gonna happen very easily!
  14. HA HA HA HA HA too late now! But yeah I must agree it might be a bodge too far! Theres a lot of sealant up there now. Got my girlfriend to pour a couple of bucketfulls of water on the sunroof and didnt get a single drip. I havent driven it anywhere yet though so theres still time for a waterfall. Can you give me any reason why it might leak. Afterall it is presumably sealed in all the same places?

    what wheels???

Thats your arches problem not yours! Roll them to buggery I say. As for wheels, How about, keskin kt1s, kerscher carmonas, brock b1s, borbet b or t? Think they're all available in 16x9 if you're looking for dish like the compomotives?
  16. I bought it from kadvr6 and he said it was from a b3 estate, so should work fine. Might have to go for washers and bathroom sealant! Actually some foam strips glued to the roof might work better. Theres a thread on vortex which suggests people have put washers on the "track screws" which I guess are the ones I'm on about. No reported problems either. Also read that there should be "spacers" fitted as standard on some moonroofs and that they may have fallen off, But this would create a gap leading to wind noise and flooding wouldn't it? I might take it out and refit it as I must have done something wrong. The seal is almost poking out of the roof!!! :mad2:
  17. I've fitted a passat glass sunroof to my car but it sits (about 5mm) proud from the roofline. I've tried the adjusters but its already as low as it can go. Can I just put washers between the car roof and the sunroof where it bolts to the car (the front 6 bolts?) To move the whole assembly down? Thanks.
  18. Would this apply to a moonroof too? Hopefully going to be fitting mine soon.

    Slammed on 17s?

I've got 15x8.5 at the moment and yeah it tramlines pretty bad on some roads. All good fun though!
  20. Mine hasnt got any, has not leaked in two years. Dont think it forms any sort of seal anyway.

    Slammed on 17s?

I love the way it looks but think I was going through a bit of a faze. I'd hate to spend loads of cash on mental arch flaring and some wheels only to get p***ed off with the ride after a week. Im stupidly low on 15s at the moment but have 45 profile tyres softening the blow! If I get some new wheels think I'll be going for some 16x9s.
  22. Love those, Borbet t's? I think they'll fit although et 35 doesnt sound right with the 9inch rears I'd expect them to be et 15.
  23. I don't think anyone could drive a 'rizla'..... He Can! But I wouldnt want to try and drive over one!

    Slammed on 17s?

Thats it! It looks sick! Im going to have to go to some body shops to talk price on serious arch demolition!
  25. Really? I quite like parts of it. Its a sort of restrained but extreme style. That said, apart from the wheels, none of it would go on my car!
