  1. Is this the VR running the compomotive th2?? Someone in a corrado group on Facebook pointed me this way, I have a couple of fitment questions if you wouldn't mind... I've searched/scratched my head for many hours but can't seem to find an actual answer to my question... So, here goes, assuming you are running th2, are the 17x8 et35? Do you have any clearance issues on (standard?) arches or Coilover springs? What size tyres are you using? And I assume from my skim read of your thread clearance for big brakes isn't an issue? Thanks in advance / apologies if I've jacked your thread and I'm talking about someone else's car!
  2. The ol' 'puter in mine usually hovers around 26/27, but goes alot lower if your right foot is heavy or sat in traffic
  3. I've got mine agreed at 6K, totally standard '95 VR6 in dragon green just turned 69,000 miles.
  4. Fine line tape is pretty flexible and can be bent (so to speak) at quite harsh angles. If your feeling confident that your happy to stay with one colour, laquer the wheel after you've put the tape on, it'll be alot more hard-wearing.
  5. You could probably get away with doing a few stone chips, but would stand out like a sore thumb if say the door was painted LC5Z and the 1/4 panel was LK5T. Depends what you want to do really....
  6. Serious? How would one go about finding these? I'm off to try out this intermittent wiper thingy....
  7. I want one, but full of corrado's
  8. Improvisation, i like it. Good work soldier :salute:
  9. Was thinking the same thing myself, however its is a left-hooker so could live in a country with minimal rain?
  10. Get it welded up, a friend if mine had a cracked wheel welded months ago and has had no problems with it. People say that a weld is stronger than the two bits it joins together? I don't weld though, so could be wrong....
  11. I'd love to take my vr on a track day, even more so once i've made the ol' girl a bit quicker....

    Lacquer peel

I hear that! Spend 5 days a week doing something and come the week end i want a break!

    Lacquer peel

 A good point though, original paint/laquer rarely peels. So if the original paint is still underneath it would be possible to flat the offending area back and polish it up. There would be a fairly obvious line where new & old meet but would look less obvious than nasty peely sheeite!

    Lacquer peel

Also, you will need to laquer the whole wing unless you can get fade-out thinners in an areosol can

    Lacquer peel

I do repairs like this at work, you could rub the peeling laquer back but the chances are that you will go through the colour to bare metal where the laquer has peeled off. Prime the bare metal and rub it down (i'd use WET 1000grit wet n dry), put light coats of colour on trying to fade into the wing (try to keep as much original paint on the edges of the wing where it meets the bonnet/door/bumper as the new colour will probably not match as well as the original colour) I'd put a light dust coat of laquer on first, let this go tacky then put a heavy coat on for shine (not too heavy or it'll run...) I can give a better step by step if you like, it's not that hard really just time consuming.
  16. I used AutoGlym wheel paint on my old clio wheels, its quite a light silver, not sure how it'd match VAG paint tho.... I paint wheels for a living and would recommend painting the whole alloy as opposed to painting a section of the wheel, as unless you get a colour mixed to match it will be noticeable once laquered. I'd be happy to give my opinion on any problems you might have. One other thing if you can be arsed, let the tyre down and get the bead broken so paint gets right around the lip of the wheel. Pump the tyre up to pop it back into place.
  17. Also, if i remember right he everytime i phoned him he seemed grumpy and very blunt with answers to questions i had.
  18. I looked at a VR at TCS, matey seemed pissed off when i didn't buy it, also wasn't keen on going for a test drive - only let me drive it 2 minutes down the road. It didn't even get up to temp, seemed a bit shady to me... But maybe i caught him on a bad day?
  19. Oh my word that is hideous! :gag: :pukeright: Who ever has it wants shooting....
  20. Saw an R36 in the flesh the other day, looked much better than in any pics i've seen.
  21. Mate, not the one... :( If i see it i'll be sure to throw something heavy at the driver.
