Yup, tried it. Doesn't work. Just buy some new sensors if yours are dead.

What size are the plates in them?
-
That looks like fun! Do those carbs have the slide venturis? Also, what is bottom end torque like, that manifold looks pretty short!
-
Do some of your own research mate, try using the search function to find other's experiences of the car.
-
Already mentioned, but still true. That isn't undertaking though.

Early mk2 GTi calipers are still 239s people, don't get a set if you need some for your Raddo as they will be way too small! :salute:
-
You mean MFA? :) Twice in one thread! :brickwall: :brickwall: I will get it right one day...

Fitted the new early spec cog speedo sensor today and the speedo works again! Completely forgot to check the MAF and do an MPG run, but am driving for about an hour tomorrow so will stick it on and see what it gives. I know they're not all that accurate, but it would be nice to see if it actually works properly! Got a shock earlier when looking in my rear view at 50mph...someone had stuck a purple bar to my tailgate    oh wait.... never mind.

Stu, you do get to drive on dual-carriageways on the test though and when learning, and the principle is exactly the same. People come on from the left as per DC driving, and you move left and right depending on whether you are overtaking etc etc.
-
70 is a legal maximum not the speed everyone MUST be travelling at. As long as the person is going faster then the vehicle on their left then they are perfectly entitled to be there as they are overtaking (how ever slowly!) but I can understand that people should pull back over if they can. Prodigal taught me the 5 second rule where you should move to the left if it is safe to do so and the gap there requires you fill it! I like to think that there is an anchoring point on the left hand side of the road and your car is on elastic: the second you're past something you should get drawn back to the left! :bonk:

Irwins are definitely worth the money!

From a debate in the House of Lords: Lord Davies of Oldham: My Lords, overtaking on the inside is against the law. Significant stretches of our motorways are under surveillance. The driver of a vehicle who deliberately comes up behind another vehicle in a middle or outside lane and then swerves inside to overtake could easily be charged with careless driving. Lord Elton: My Lords, will the noble Lord kindly write to me

boost monkey replied to ProdigalSon's topic in General Car Chat
Jacked in the lambo job today, WAY too many 10-12 hour days for what seems to be ~£4 an hour if my maths is any good. Knock Hill and Rockingham were fun, but as a summer job? no thanks. -
I missed all of this due to working, but it was good to know the C was doing well! Apparently there was some new sciroccos around but i didn't see them

:salute: Yeah wasn't a great day due to TONS of issues (not making excuses!) but we did get a podium spot yesterday. #11 is the brand new Gallardo recently sprayed up in the on-site booth back in Wycombe, but luckily already race prepped to GT3 by Reiter Engineering from whom the car came. In fact I have an interesting story to tell about a very spontaneous trip to COlogne to get some lambo parts...but that is for another time :| #21 is the car that flipped at Oulton. Recently placed on the jig and straightened out (we have the only one outside of Automobili Lamborghini in Italia) and re-prepped to the same spec. Will elaborate when I haven't just returned home from a 4-day 48-hour working race weekend! :salute: -

Ah yeah :brickwall: I always say MAF and MFA the wrong way round. I don't even have a MAF! Why do you wanna see the subframe, it's mine! I did ask him for a rad support panel for you though if he's got one in good nick. Hoping to pop down and pick up some bits next week sometime. Speedo sorting has been postponed for the following 3 reasons: Lunch, Engine heat :brickwall: Not being able to find cable... ha ha :brickwall: :brickwall: p.s. had another pain-saturated conversation with Gary at the dealers again today, arguing why I should get discount when I'm not trade... Does anyone know how many signatures we'd need on a petition to get him fired? :bad-words: :hitler:

Very brief and overdue update. Work with Modena should be starting shortly, so updates may get sparser . Ordered an early-spec gearbox speedo sender yesterday which is now in stock, so I will be going to get that and fitting it today hopefully. This will allow me to have a speedo  and will also allow the MAF to work on it's MPG calculations (hopefully) so I will see what is going on. AFAIK going from the fuel gauge, it is using too much fuel and I'm 90% sure the timing isn't quite spot on yet either. So, little things to do at the mo. Will hopefully be picking up a real Corrado subframe from Toad in the next week or so, allowing me to get on with stuff

 Trade you heater controls for working windows in this weather though :pale:

Early spec for the mofo'ing win. About time we won something! :bad-words:

^_^ I finished my exams, so I have even less to do now! :notworthy: I was wondering if it was a 2.0 aswell Jim, does look ever so slightly different to my bay in places.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum  I've trialled and errored this engine a lot, my project thread was full of the same issues so hopefully I can be of some help. The red circled bit is the ISV. Yours doesn't look like mine though, mine is silver and yours is black and possibly plastic? And yes, that vacuum pipe being disconnected will be the exact reason why your car dies when you take your foot off the pedal. It will plug into either a red or green plastic T-piece underneath the last bit of black tubing before the engine and throttle body. feel free to PM if you get stuck, or come for a chat on messenger :salute: Jon.

That is so cool. I've been wanting to model it for a few months now, but have nowhere near the time or ability to do so. Glad you got some pictures up!
