Sometimes I just wish the C was a bit nippier :(

Don't buy a Milltek manifold if you're gonna go turbo! Else you'll be selling it again pretty sharpish  -
Aaaah I see, cheers Cheesey :salute:

Jim i agree wholeheartedly! The Corrado 16v's massive lack of torque borderline upset me in the first few weeks (granted mine's not exactly the best example!) My old car was a Mk2 16v. Not super-quick by any means but mine was an early-spec 1987 model. This meant small bumpers which makes people think you're not a Gti :norty: coupled with my removal of ALL Gti badges, addition of GolfCL badges, a K&N and an Ashley 4-branch and it was a good little laugh! Also got broken into once and didn't have an alarm - I reckon the Golf CL badges were what stopped my car from getting knicked as if they'd opened the bonnet  they would have been away. What i'm trying to say is, I LOVE Sleepers (cars that go faster than they look) and imho the Corrado 16v is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of this ethos! I got done by a Beetle the other day: I'd like to think it was a 20vt beetle but who's to say it was? I stuck with it until it gave up basically but it could easily have been a 110hp workhorse  The 16v needs a bucketload more torque, and I will be remedying that without going 20vt. I just know way more about the KR so for me it would be a false economy to change engines. Plus where's the fun in a plug-and-play kit! -

I have a set of front to backs that I carefully removed from a low-mileage 92K plate with ABS if they're any good? They still have their green protective paint on and are in VGC. Yours free of charge if you can collect? They're kinda long! I'm in Oxford :salute: Jon

Is there any way to adjust the bit point on the hydraulic clutch system? I'm guessing no....

Yes it does sound nice but the intake/exhaust system difference design makes a HUGE difference to how an engine sounds. Just think of a VR with a stock airbox and stock exhaust and then one with a BMC up front, a 6-branch manifold and a s/s system. It's like comparing babysitters to banshees! Obviously for a performance engine, you will hear it coming a long way off anyways

Clutch failure(?) - FIXED, was hydraulic AND friction!
boost monkey replied to ProdigalSon's topic in Drivetrain
 and people say I don't know isht :cuckoo: I think you should pick up some new clutch cables soonish whilst you can still get your newish exhaust apart easily and replace them, they are probably a little tired :salute: page4ismine!111!!one -
Stu, I didn't thin it as I had no thinners, plus it sloshed around so much in the tin I thought it would be really thin! I did brush it on yeah, I did a basecoat on one side of each of the two items, then 3-4 hours later I put a slightly thicker topcoat on. Day after, I admired the enamel-like finish and then flipped them both over and did it again. I STILL had some POR left over so I did the top half of the Mk2 subframe too! Thought I might as well just to use it up! More pictures coming soon :salute: The finish is really glassy: I know it's gloss paint but I've never seen gloss paint like this before...

Brief update, got a phone call from the company that I ordered my Samcos from. They're in stock, but there's a slight problem. Apparently the price had gone up in the last couple of weeks and as such I needed to pay them more. The company was badassmotors t/a DivineWebsites (on teh bay) and there's a guy there called Jonny who is quality. They emailed me on Saturday saying that there was a prob and could I get in touch. Finally rang them today and spoke to Jonny who said the price had gone up, but they were happy to do them at list price for me (although this was another £20) and they were really sorry and actually sounded genuine about it. They were also more than happy to refund. I told them I'd have the refund, mainly as I'm beyond skint at the moment (plus I managed to fix the burst pipe with a spare) but I will probably re-order from them when I get around to the engine rebuild sometime in the future. Was really nice that they contacted me, and if I could find a Good Companies thread (is there one?) I would recommend them for sure

Does anyone have a map on file they'd be willing to send me? We have the mapping software at uni and I'd like to have a little play  Ta, Jon.

just don't stick it on a 40 cycle as the rubber might go funny!

A ported head and a stroked block shouldn't stress the engine any more, it's increasing the boost and revving it higher which stresses stuff.

it needs some autoglym work i think, then the arty style shall begin!

anyone used their magnex life time guarantee-fractured mount
