  1. forgot to post the other day but the dynamat looks so fresh 8)
  2. I lived in charlbury (about 15 miles from oxford) until i was 25. I bought a house in kent last year and now live in a village called edenbridge. where are you guys from? I'm in headington, O-town.
  3. Computer Numerical Control. Machinery used to precisely bore and adjust the item (cylinder head) to exact specifications, programmed into the machine computer as a series of co-ordinates and programming-esque language :salute:
  4. more investigation is needed I think...when it stops raining though :D
  5. So, it's been raining most of the afternoon in O-town today. Get back to my car after a rather nasty long day in the library to find a driver footwell of RAINwater. where would it come through? only places I can think of is the bulkhead where the pedal cables / column etc go through but how would rain have got past my bonnet?! Last time I checked it wasn't a partially permeable membrane and hadn't told me it would like to osmose rain into the cabin... i know the raintray is dead (is this the answer? is it really that simple?) but i still don't see how rain gets into only the drivers footwell. Is this another thing to add to the list? so a completely sh
  6. got a ticket. I found a little sticker on the window saying "Police Notice", so I think they appreciated my car and asked me to pay £30 to help them notice it again or something.
  7. it's this or Trigonometry revision. But enough O/T. If anyone needs a late spec tank dismantled I'm happy to pull my spare apart :salute:
  8. lolol!!!!!!! ha ha.... ha..... :confused4: :cuckoo: :drinking:
  9. Got a parking ticket at uni today, sucks. Was on a mud bank behind a yellow line that has been fine to park on before, I guess the warden was having an off-day.
  10. Good points. I hadn't thought about the pump getting hot and wearing quicker. Maybe I should put more than £10 in each time.
  11. my 16v won't pull past 5500rpm, maybe this is due to the fuel pump.... cheers Olly, you got me thinking!
  12. Rob, you're gonna get a reputation at this rate! Maybe you should release an album...
  13. Good plan Rich, stay positive! IIRC there's a 3-pin connector like that floating around which is the Diag port for VAG-Com? My 16v is early and as such I plug it into my Etch-A-Sketch to diagnose faults.
  14. I've had the inectors in my 1987 16v golf rattle out and I just pushed them back in. It's not the pressure that loosens them it's the vibration especially if the sleeves are knackered.
  15. Snotter for £4000?!?!?!?!?! omg. Mine is deffo a snotter as you call it, but it cost me an eighth of that. If you're happy to doi a lot of work yourself (and boy, are you gonna) then they can be had for very decent prices. I know of someone with a gorgeous corrado which may appear in the For Sale section soon?
  16. ^^^ yes tappets. did all the stuff as in the PP thread.
  17. As an anti-theft device, those wheels are PERFECT.
  18. I remember reading on here some time ago that you could swap one of the relays that controls the windows for a MK3 Golf item that enabled you to roll down both windows at once. Pretty sure it also gave you "one touch" closure as well as opening on them too? Anyone else read that? Or was I dreaming of the C again? :D Mark 2s have this relay In. I have ZERO ideas why the Corrado doesn't! My golf windows were awesome.
  19. imho, just another thing to go wrong. Save yourself the hassle (and extra weight) and stay with the winders :D
  20. lolol @ camo! Someone will mention matt black next too! :| any updates on the brake and exhaust woes?
  21. lol thanks matey but there's tons of people on here who know more than me. Continuity tests are just a check between two ends of the same piece of wire: if the wire has no breaks in it then the multimeter buzzes or beeps. VERY handy! I'm unsure how you managed to check a bad idling system without doing continuity on the wires: When I had to diagnose mine back in Feb, I literally buzzed ALL the terminals on the ECU connector through for continuity and even some of the fusebox ones! It's just a piece of mind thing, kinda like how you check all the fuel lines when you're suspecting a fuel delivery issue. Glad you got it sorted though. 16v Vac pipes can be so fussy! :bad-words:
  22. Just to clarify - I assume you meant you shouldn't be able to turn the shaft with the wheels on the ground. With the wheel off the ground you can easily turn the driveshaft while getting the 6 spline bolts out of the inner cv. Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry, didn't even bother mentioning that as it's a no brainer! If you can't turn the driveshaft by hand when the wheel's off then something is fooked!
  23. Hi Which cylinder, master or slave. I'm guessing from the thread title that it's the master cylinder... :drinking: Did you check all the fittings with a torque wrench or just eyeball them? Have you left a tool wedged in somewhere?!
