understandable, but a lightbulb and two wires would work just as well. it's school-level physics

mate i think they quoted that cos they dont want the business, i know a few spray shops like that, if they have work coming out of their ears they'll quote over the odds and then the options are simple a) you walk away and they dont care cos they have too much work as it is or b) you agree and they are quids in and can afford to delay someone elses spray job! ^^^ makes a lot of sense!

oi! don't start.

Someone once mentioned that Prodigal's car was rat-look and I had to explain it. Bless

Put the pipe on this morning, MASSIVELY motivated by the fact that I don't have any food in (unless you count butter and sweetcorn :cuckoo: ). Also refilled ~4litres so must have lost a fair bit. Car is running well now although could do with a G12 topup as I put ~3.5 litres of water in and the stuff that was in there already was brown and icky. Like an ick. @Ron, when I said Rip Van Winkle stage I meant "sleepy time until exams are done" not "please rip one of your coolant pipes open" :brickwall:  Glad he's working again though, means i can continue my spate of 10-hour days on campus trying to hit deadlines! :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

Took you about a year to find?! continuity tests on a multimeter for the extreme winnage.

gearstick alignment in the cabin?

I heard the V5 is unbalanced due to the mongrel block and 5 cyls. Plus it's a piece of paper.

Makes sense to me Junkie. Carbon Fibre won't rust and will outlive the rest of the car, plus it saves weight. If he was planning to spend £400 for a lick of paint on an old steel bonnet, why not pay an extra £50 and get a composite bonnet?

I thought kids were taught in school these days about how bad the vw 16v intake systems are?

Keep them for spares. Don't sell them AND "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I used to be a detail whore, but now I'm purely functional: fix stuff when it breaks, upgrade stuff if it's easily justifiable. hth, Jon. -
It will look like a yeti's ass. Your car is black isn't it? Can't be that hard to find a black bonnet in good nick. I know there are a few on ebay fo' sho'

Dahlbach RSI pwns you all Too much power for the mk4 chassis to be fair, but what a creation! :notworthy:

if you can get it into any gear (if that is what you mean by getting it to acknowledge anything) then your clutch is going / going / gone.

I get that just from logging in! These look a good idea, but I would never keep spring clips to re-use and never ever buy spring clips new so unless I had sadistically volunteered to swap out a few people's coolant clips for jubilee/mikalor items this seems a bit of a waste? Although the constant tension thing does make a lot of sense, and I guess for those wanting piece of mind then this is the tool for them  -
Tandino, that's exactly what I said.

FWD is much more forgiving than RWD though, so I would always choose a FWD car if I wasn't a 1337 |)r1\/Z0r!!111111

LOL, I spot a "my XXXXXXXXXXXX is better than your VR6" thread coming on again! :brickwall: :fondle: :drinking: :bonk:

Bit of a sweeping generalisiation there!. Thats a bit like saying every front wheel drive car will understeer off into the hedge at every corner  Not really. He mentions RWD at the beginning of the sentence as a generalisation, and then everything after the comma is particular to the 200sx to which he is referring. You know this because he says "the car" and not "the cars" or "them" which he would if he was making a sweeping generalisation. Basic grammar.

the gearbox is different matey, you have rod change and we have cable change plus ours is hydraulic. But it sounds like your bushes need replaceing on the rods. I've done this on my mk2 16v and my 8v jetta and it really does sharpen up the gearchange plus doesn't jump out of gear anymore! Bush kits available online or from factors and VW. hth, Jon.

can you put mk3 2ltr bottom end on g60 ?
boost monkey replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
even if you can, the G60 block is forged and strengthened from standard so is MUCH more capable of handing the extra stresses from supercharging than the Mk3 block is. stick with the G60 engine, there's still a ton of potential in it.
