where has this influx of scene heroes come from? -
Headlight is broken. Thought i'd let you know.

you may find the upswept rear box will do heat damage to your bumper over time. That's what other users have found. I know it's damaging my eyes at the moment.

omg, I looked at your pics on p16 and you're moaning about swirl marks?! The Hubble can see mine FFS!!!

The Monkey's Daily - Mk2 Golf GTi 8v [straight through MOT]
boost monkey replied to boost monkey's topic in Members Gallery
Yeah, I just mean the switches and stuff on the TB :D I haven't tried letting it run in gear at idle with 0 pedal, so will give that a go. @CazzaVR, MOT extra advisory was they think (but didn't confirm ) that the front mount bolt looked a little suspect. Strangest advisory I have ever had! I'll try and examine it after finals are over... just 8 days now. -
Please tell me you're not one of these scene heroes....
-
i think you need a VR6 dry sump to get over all these clearance issues you're having... now, who was it that designed one of those recently...?
-
there are other engines besides the 20vt which will be economical and fun to drive :D
-
the oak green looks t i d y ! sorry to hear you found it slow, i don't think they're too bad tbh and i've come from 16v ownership. supras look nice, not sure you have enough gauges though!
-
do you know anyone who has the bentley manual?
-
Ah, the voice of reason at last! :D
-
There's a section for Site Q's? why don't we cull that nonsense and leave the engines stuff where it is?
-
I think we have an ABS setup in the loft, gathering dust. I'll nudge Prod (came off a 92 16v, so I'm guessing they're all the same?)

Lol at most lot of the VR's for sale lately

The learning curve really isn't that steep for a C tbh, especially if you have owned any other 80s/90s VW beforehand. I wonder how many members on here actually use theirs as a daily? -
Before you know it you'll be on your 6th/7th/8th Corrado!

sounds like you have mismatched springs and dampers. This will make your car handle really badly as they won't be tuned to work with each other. Basically, it's all about chassis dynamics. The wheel hub will resonate at a certain frequency called the "hub mode". This is where the wheel will basically bounce off and slap back down on the road. The body will also resonate at a certain frequency called the "body mode". This is where the main shell of the car starts to oscillate up and down on the suspension. I've seen it on a 4-post rig and it's very obvious when occurring! So basically your springs and dampers may not be isolating these frequencies and damping them properly. This will result in very poor handling, and will also explain why the shocks are behaving like they're broken when they're not.

what's happened to it? wasn't it stickied along with the other ones?

Oh! I couldn't find a number on the black pump housing :-s Going back to the clutch, I received it last night - one of my flat neighbours had taken it in. It's a LUK item, and does come with pressure plate! I was surprised cos it was a 3 piece kit but has 4 pieces including the retaining clip. Perhaps I'm being picky :D So I will order the 6 high torque bolts and put this on the to-do list pile. Also, I've found the throttle pedal very all or nothing recently. The driveline shunt is tremendous, and noticed most when my fiancee is driving (no comment...!) which I kinda assumed was her getting used to the bite point etc. But it does it with me too, esp at low speed when just trying to creep along in 1st or second. There seems to be no progression. Is this characteristic of anything in paricular? I wondered whether I had an uprated clutch on perhaps (only one way to find out I guess!). Maybe the throttle body sensors need a bit of a clean. I'm not too sure really. Perhaps I'm not riding the clutch as much as I'm scared it's gonna go soon. Still doesn't slip when foot down in 5th at 30 though. Found fusebox cover, it's at Prodigal's house with my Mk2 bentley  so when I pick those up I'll actually be able to check the CL fuse and see if its gone. Thanks for the continued help everyone :D :salute: -

Right in the middle of final exams for me guys. Perhaps next year :) -
they're not all the same, you'll need a 16v one specifically. Just sold a brand new one for £60. sorry.

the CL foam says 191 at the start so I guess that rules out a swappable unit from the Corrado :/ I still haven't checked the fuse, because I can't find the fusebox cover! It's been off to use as a parts tray whilst I've been doing other jobs in the car and now I can't find it! :/ I'll try to get the multimeter out soon, although I have final exams (omg, finishing uni at last) in the next 2 weeks so can't really do anything until then. -
new is about £300 from the dealer I think.
