do you find yourself being drawn back to the same model of car?
James. replied to Danny Ess's topic in General Car Chat
You won't know until you try. Buy one, live with it, give it a fair chance and if it doesn't work out, move it on. I'm sure you'll be handy with the spanners, so there shouldn't be anything stopping you. There's some very good VR6s floating about for handy money. -
nothing we didn't really know about electric cars

Either that or wire it into the street lights. -
The price is right "storm badges edition" official competition thread 2012
James. replied to James.'s topic in Ebay and Misc
You are the winner ! To save on the pain of attending a press release, and running the risk of fracturing your diss-interest, I've donated the speedboat to the donkey sanctuary. Thanks all for having a go. Mr L Crowther Wooten on the Gooch Frimpton -
Funny/sad isn't it. I found the same attitude from a high percentage of the 968 owners club. Fortunatly the Corrado forum is free from automotive heirachy ( usual suspects please chip in). Yet I find TIPEC a sound bunch. Talking of interiors, was watching some Scarface clips yesterday. That Pacha interior is just crazy, even thirty years later. I take it the pint making a cameo in some of the shots is yours then !

Someday soon the west will all drive and consume battery powered everything. And guess who holds the keys to the honeypot ? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/14/world/asia/14minerals.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 And yet most of joe public swallow the line about their occupation and covert control of this piece of the world being for the greater good. Yeah, and the invasion of Kuwait and subsequent management of internal restructuring was because they cared. I'll step down from the soap box before the Shermans use it as a drill platform. -
Great in-car action. You need a soundtrack though...

I'd just lacquer that one and fit it. Really looks that good.

Nothing like cleaning the carpets to give you a real visual sense of achievement. Congratulations on the work front as well. I'm sure that has taken the weight off. What's next ?

Looked quite clean on the inside. But I was wondering about the air con. By you saying "if cheap enough" I presume it wasn't all that cheap cheap then ? £600

"Come on down" As the late, great Lesley Crowther would announce every week to a viewing audience of millions. It's competition time boys and girls. Let's see who can get the closest to the (potentially rediculous) finishing price WITHOUT GOING OVER. On the coveyer belt this week we have : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280983602394?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I'll let the advert do the talking. In the mean time... ...I'll start us off at £63. So step right up and Lets see who could be the winner of "Britains next top storm badge valuer 2012" The person with the closest guess wins my warmest congratulations. Good luck people.

Is your breakdown cover up to date then ? Drop me a message when you're about.

You can get most things in a Lupo (or any other small car)... When you put the seats down.

Glad to see it's gone to an enthusiast forum member. Shame it's left the north west (as so many good ones have recently). But that's life. We are mere custodians. Photos and updates soon as you can ! All the best with your new toy. It's a good one.

I suggested one to Mum years ago and she continues to enjoy it. Proper little work horse with great build quality. Boot space is poor, but you can't have it all ways. Cool picture.

This happened to me as well. All I can say is make sure the smaller roof lining is pushed forward, but also check the sunroof is seated with an even seal. When I re-fitted the sunroof panel, I moved it slightly further to the back of the car. That extra couple of mm seemed to make all the difference on water ingress and wind noise.

Droplinks that actually fit and are cheaper than the dealers.

Sounds like track rod ends to me. I had a similar issue recently. I changed everything on the front except for the t/r ends. Tracking was way out and hopping around dangerously. Changed the t/r ends and once laser aligned is now driving the best I've ever had it. I get mine from a chap off ebay "tierod69". German parts and so far seem good quality. -
Anything without tax or mot is going to be a hard sell. Breaking will more than likely return more money but can take months.

I think ( and yes I'm waiting for the barage of abuse) that this is priced quite well. Fair enough I'd like to see all the paperwork and have a good crawl around under the car, but at £4295 ( so he'll be looking to clear £4k ), with air con, black leather (fair to assume heated) it looks very good indeed. The little tell tale signs are all there if you look hard enough: premium contact tyres, badges in A1 condition, original dealer plates. Could have benefited with an engine and interior shot. But, if he's anything like me, he"ll want to get them on the phone so he can really sell it to them. Where's our west midlands roving reporter for a step by step news feed ?

Yep that's them alright. One heavy shower of rain and they dissolve over night ! A friend had one a few years back, fitted with a paddle clutch. Drove it a few times as well. It terrified / captivated me in equal measures. Real pants of the seat stuff. Shame it used to spend half it's life at Mangoletsi. The fuel starvation when hooning into roundabouts was an interesting trait.

My condolences to your wallet.

Just seeing VR6s avatar had me in stiches before I'd even read anything !

That's the top and inside done. Time to venture underneath ? Powdercoat etc etc Once again, the car looks great. Really like a good red Rado.

Managed three layers of basecoat on the rears today. Finishing up with a clear coat later on. Plan to give it another coat tomorrow, followed by priming up the engine bay. After much confinement based frustration, standing on my head in the cabin, removed the brake slave cylinder. Plan to clean and paint that up before re-fitting as well. Oscar did his best to help. His new Hotwheels play set saved our sanity later on. Lastly, cleaned out the scuttle tray, ready for painting later in the week. After removing half a tube of black silicone (Thanks Diavia) that had been applied with the finesse of a two year old, it's all ready for a wipe down and a bit of paint. Lots of jobs being crossed off. Can't sleep I'm that excited.
