Chap near me has three of them. Guess with any fibreglass car, electrics would be the main bugbear. I like them. Especially with slot mags.

My rear screen does seem to do it quite a bit. But the de-mister seems to work okay. Thing I find, because they're so well sealed, when I get in the car with wet shoes, it has nowhere to evaporate to. Check the seal on the lower part of the screen. I've seen two cars where the metal has rusted through. Because of where it is, it's not always obvious.

I know what you're saying Kip. Some days I feel mine is reaching the end of the road. But as long as it fires up first time and keeps passing the MOT without advisories then I'm agrieved to change. I was ready to move on that 60k Silver 8v from wales, but then I realised the one I have runs well enough for my needs. My only gripe (with the exception of the poor paint) is the steering column has developed the classic wobble problem. Something I'll address over the Christmas holidays. Trouble is like Andy said, I've not seen many "good" examples for quite a while.

Thanks for sharing that Eric. Really enjoyed it.

Split pipe leaking on to electrics, causing the miss-fire ? Bad times either way, but hope you get fixed up one way or another.

Just wanted to say a well done, and thanks for the calendar. I don't usually go in for this kind of thing, but I have been really impressed by the standard of pictures, design and service provided. Three cheers.

Fond memories of my first Corrado in Alpine white, also a K reg 16v. I like your style with the simple mods and tasteful deletions. But pictures we like. In fact, more more more.

I had the same idea as Dragon Green. Just went a bit further and used a hole saw to sink them in place. They needed a bit of fettling and double checking but I'm very happy with the results. These are mine (same on both sides): Post #142, third picture. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55962-James-8-valve-love-affair-Spreading-the-love/page15

Thanks for the heads up on the 2K clearcoat. I've already bought the clearcoat (U-POL) though. I was sworn off the 2k cans by a friend who couldn't highlight the massive health risks enough. Into the garage with a couple of heaters on Sunday.

Now that sounds like a challenge. ---------- Post added 7th December 2012 at 12:06 AM ---------- Previous post was 6th December 2012 at 11:51 PM ---------- Thanks Chris. Will do. I'm going to rub the primer back, second coat, rub, basecoat etc etc. Just want to get the front subframe installed. It's a milestone I'd like to reach before Santa arrives.

Rattle cans Kip. I know the purists will bang on about quality blah de blah, but to be purfectly honest, there's so many seams and underseal to distract the viewers eye from any small blemishes that after seeing how the rear lower apron arches came out, I'm confident of achieving a similar result. And let's be honest, how much of the bay paintwork can you see when the VR6 lump is dropped back in ? Not much at all. Looks like I'll have to get the heat up in the garage before I paint it though. Last thing I want is a milky bay ! Sunday we paint !

Come on, let the rest of us in on this.

Last time I went to Inters, GPC were selling brushed Corrado script badges for £12. It was ten years ago though.

Or disconnect the speedo ! Just be careful with classic policies. They sometimes don't allow you to earn NCB.

Dark blue Corrado with the M3 style rear lights on TV ! Spotted it tonight on the National geographics rather amising fluff piece " Strippers, cars for cash". The cheeky chaps were in a scrap yard, cogitating the potential purchase of a beat up beetle. Sorry, couldn't spot the flavour, and the reg was blurred. Seems a sad state of affairs that two of the last spots I've had were on the idiot box !

How quickly three months can pass. Since my last update I've: Clobbered a kerb half asleep on the way to work. Kerbing the front passenger wheel 3/4 of the way round. Changed the wheels front to back, as the tyres seem to be wearing quite fast. One to watch. Changed a front P/S ABS sensor. Only to find the ABS still doesn't work properly. Got a new MPG record ( 47.7 ! ) Spotted Oscar on the "Blackpool Breeze" VW website (picture taken at Tatton). Had the exhaust partially separate between down-pipe and cat. Made the car sound like a Spitfire though. Much to the kids at schools amusement. So yesterday I set about resolving the cars running issues. Popped the pass side wheels off to swap them over, so that the nearly new rears are now on the front in time for the snow we're meant to be getting soon. whilst under there I decided to take a look at the ABS. I changed the front sensor a couple of weeks back. But now when I slow down and reach about 5mph the ABS kicks in and doesn't half feel awful. I'd put the new sensor in but wasn't happy with the alignment. I checked resistance on the front two. Both the same. Had a look at the front sensor and it seemed to be slightly further away than usual. popped it out, cleaned the hub surface of crust and connected everything back up. Wheels back on and hey presto. ABS service has resumed. The distance must have been giving false signals. Causing the ABS to cut in at the same slow speed each time. I wish they were all that easy. Now the tricky one... Exhaust gasket. I procured a gasket from Corkills VW mid week. Along with the M8 bolts that hold it together. How daft is this though. The nuts are un-available. A quick rummage through my nut/bolt drawer and I've got three M8 nuts to hand. In ready-ness I had the gas and angle grinder ready. Once under the car it soon transpired that I didn't need them. The exhaust was being held together with rust and good will. The nut heads and bolts had simply rusted away and fallen apart over the years (check out the picture... new vs old) So I set to work drifting the three bolts (if they can still be called this) out, cleaned the exhaust faces up and installed the new gasket. She now purrs like a kitten, instead of growling like a scalded cat. Again a relatively easy fix. I'd have treated the old chap to a wash and wax if it wasn't for the fact that all the locks and seals would have frozen up in the night. Giving me a major "berg" shaped headache in the morning. Best drop a bit of unleaded in the old boy and call it that. For the moment that is....

Lilfuzzers Blackberry VR6 Photos of proof !!!

That's going to be one super blingin' bay. You polishing up anything that'll take it ? One a side note. I find a final polish with Vienna chalk gives a wonderful, lasting finish. -
What with the 8valve having a couple of mechanical corrections remedied this weekend, I felt it prudent to share some mechanical love with the other Corrado in my life. So today (somewhere around lunch time), Oscar and his mum tootled off to his Nans. Allowing dad the rest of the afternoon to spend in a freezing garage, with just automotive beauty, a couple of brews and Radio 2 for company. First off was plugging the heater in. Once I got the feeling back in my fingers I proceeded to degrease the engine bay and arches, scotchpad it all down and then give it a wipe over with pre-paint. Much to my fingertips disappointment, I opened up the doors and started to spray on the primer. Nipped back inside for another brew and to see who we had in the next round of the FA cup (Would have liked an away day at Aldershot, Harrogate or Crawley. But ended up with AFC Bournemouth at home if you're interested). Not much to elaborate on after that. Just a couple of snaps for the family album. Need a bit of warmth for the basecoat though.

VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread

Certainly sounds like the pump to me. I assume you've done a resistance check on all the sensors ? Was the ABS ecu changed for a known working one ? Failing that, I'd change the pump. -
Patience and deep pockets !!! If you're planning on keeping it for a while and doing the work yourself then for starters get the Bentley manual. And when your budget allows, (assuming you have a late car) get yourself set up with vagcom/ VCDS. But by far one of the best tools is this website. I've lost count of the times I've trawled the search to find solutions.

I jostled with the idea of making some for mine. If they were flat then it would be pretty straight forward, but here's a curve on them though, along with limited space to clip into which makes mounting a protector difficult. I've not given up on the idea, just shelved it for the time being. Maybe someone reading this will take the idea and run with it ?
-
They look absolutly stunning. I'm toying (see what I did there !) with the idea of buying the mk3 VR6 for the wheels. Swapping them on to a Corrado VR6 and painting it Dusty Mauve for ultimate raritat. Let's hope they roll the VR6 out. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Be sure to let us know when the G60 gets a full release.

Plastic bag any electricals before you start. Some of the oil may have atomised into the air channels, but this should dissapate with time.

Cripes, nearly forgot to order one. And then there were three !

Reminds me a little of the Ed Rush / Dillinja output from the late 90's. My only personal observation is the drum loop at 19-25 seconds. It doesn't sit right for me. Just a personal observation though. Apart from that it's excellent.
