Discuss ? I had a dreadfull day in the driving rain having to negotiate a town that was intended to circumnavigated by canal barges. Did return 21mpg which I thought was fair. Am I right in thinking the 8v Corrado shares most of its engine/running gear with the Golf Mk3 8v ???

You and I must have a really similar taste in cars Andy ! Had a look at an anniversary a couple of months ago but it was a little too dog eared for my liking. This though looks very good indeed. May have a quick tic-tac with the owner to see if it's still on the market. And close by as well... ...Which is nice.

Looking at getting a new daily. I do very few miles so have decided (maybe against my better judgement) to buy either of the following: Corrado VR6 Corrado 8v Mk3 Golf GTI Mk3 Golf VR6 I have (positive) experience of the VR6 Corrado but not any of the others. I've been using mine as a "kind of daily" but that's about to stop for good at the end of the month (Don't worry she's not being sold or scrapped). Anyone have experience of running all of theses (long shot I know) ? They're all similar money to insure. And as mileage is not an issue, then neither is MPG. Just looking to get a feeler for running costs etc.

Not at all. The insurer will be looking to follow company protocol to the letter. Unfortunatly, when you deal with a huge organisation, it leaves very little room for "emotional attachment". :hitler: Thankfully there's space in this world for at least a little humanity. :flower:

Nice one Matt. Here's the VR6 article from the same editon as the Storm: NB: I like how the author refers to the 8v as a "ghost car". 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfVWA VR6 feature aug 95 a.jpg[/attachment:2j5mkttx] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfVWA VR6 feature aug 95 b .jpg[/attachment:2j5mkttx] VWA VR6 feature aug 95 c.jpg[/attachment:2j5mkttx]

Thought I'd start a thread for articles/reviews from recent times or days gone by. Feel free to add any you see. I'll add the ones from my other threads in good time. All I do ask is please add a foot note as to where the article/review was harvested. vwa car aug 95 storm feature.jpg[/attachment:3u73kftn]

VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread
James. replied to VR6 Lee's topic in Members Gallery
Over time the hand brake gets pulled towards the driver and ends up off centre. Just bend it back gently as to be central once more. -
Just trawling/organising through all the bumf that came with the car and dropped on this: Judging by the registration marks of the cars I think it's safe to assume that this was produced around July 1995 when the cars first owner parted company. I like the sound of the Oettinger model but I wonder where they are now ? That great big breakers yard in the sky ???

And I thought the "Rat look" was all the rage  I'd put a tray of poison under the car when ever possible and hope that draws the bugger out.

Never considered this as I thought there were very strict rules regarding the use of secondary information on a plate ? I know it's anal but I would ideally like the original trade plate trim. Or reproductions of.

Another article that some of you may/may not have seen before (Volkswagen Motoring July 1999): VWM 1999 campaign.jpg[/attachment:2r1l311s] -

I want them exactly as supplied. Scotts of Sloane Square closed their doors many moons ago.

Any good upholsterer will have fabric swatches that you can look through. Some VW dealers can obtain fabric but it can be expensive. Always worth a try though. Google: Capital seating. These guys should be able to point you in the right direction if they can't help you themselves. By the way. Those seats are immense. :D

Not even sure what they are called.. I'm looking to have some of these made up with the original supplying dealer info printed on. Any clues where I can have some made up (that doesn't have a minimum order) ?

Get the kettle on as soon as he arrives and leave them to it. I'm sure that they'll gauge that your a collector/enthusisat by the collection of hardware dotted about, so there's no need to sell them a story. With any luck, if the repair/write off conversation needs to be had, he\she will bring it to the table. All the very best, James

Chamois de-mist pad / glove and an ice scraper. Also a cigarette lighter to be kept indoors. That way if your locks freeze up, flambe' your key for a few seconds and insert to reveal a defrosted lock. PS:Neveruseboilingwateronyourscreen.com

Anorak alert !!! So glad you had the opportunity to have your spirits lifted after a tough week. By the way, you did look rather "three sheets to the wind" in the first picture.... But that's a good thing :D

I had the same comment at the pumps this morning. Bloke says to me "Is that a Sciricco?" When I said to the chap "Nearly.. It's a Corrado" he looked at me as though I'd just 5hit in his pocket, got in his car and drove off. :cuckoo: Bloody french car drivers.

9:43am and no update. You boys still in bed

Hopefully whilst not driving at the same time  Though that would be some trick to do that.
