I did once have a picture of one as mine was missing on my car when I bought it but can't seem to find it now. I eventually persuaded someone to sell me the part as it's not available from VW. The quickest method is to buy a second hand filler flap with it fitted, remove it, paint it and fit it. Certainly stopped mine swinging open every time I went round a left hand corner ! They usually sell second hand complete for a fiver.

To be perfectly honest, a red carpet with black interior or cream a/b/c posts would look miss-matched. Even if you were to carry the colour onto other parts of the interior. Ie: piping on the seats, stitching on the door cards etc it may still look naff.

You need to create an earth for the second wire. Fix the second wire between the boss/wheel and that should do the trick. It did for mine.

OE BBS "Monte Carlo" wheel paint code ? I've seen lods of threads on this but no ones thrown up a diffinitive answer. I once heard that Merc brilliant silver is almost identical. Discuss

They did on 6 Corrado's too - the Campaigns were Dusty Mauve. Technically they should also be on the list. *prods OSV* To be fair to OSV the list is based around production colours and LC5P - Dusty Mauve wasn't quite production  But feel free to add it for the purpose of being complete :salute: On a similar paint based note. I was 24 hours away from buying a Khaki green 16v from a chap in Workington a couple of months before I bought the Campaign. He was emigrating and leaving the car here. It had about 85k on it and was a one family car. He sold it for handy money to a friend in the end as I missed an email from him the day before he left. Was gutted in one respect, but then every cloud etc etc..... I wonder where it is now ? Anyone spotted it in the Cumbria area ??? Here's Dusty Mauve - LC5P either way: Dalton side on.jpg[/attachment:1j8l234k]

Likewise... how much are they from the stealers? A couple of quid each. I bought some a few months back.

VR6 Lee - Corrado VR6 Storm Mystic Blue Build thread
James. replied to VR6 Lee's topic in Members Gallery
Bin shelling out the Dollars. Drive it, enjoy it, It breaks then fix it. You're not going to devalue it by putting a new engine in (so long as it's done well) as Corrado enthusiasts will know the inherant cost of a VR rebuild. The only thing will happen is that (heaven forbid) when you sell it, your market may be slightly more limited (Taking into account new potential Corrado owners who may be put off by a non standard engine). -
I have the same predicament Andy. Car goes off the road tomorrow, then in the coming weeks I'll be stripping the car down. But where do I stop ? The car runs well. Very well in fact. Just had a great run today to/from Southport with the family and she performed beautifully and purred like a kitten. I'm going to have a look at the internals once the ongine is eased out. If I'm happy with what i see then I intend to clean it all, bolt it all back up and drive it again next year. If I've any spare time before the re-tax date (April 2011) then I'll have a go at the suspension and brakes. The subframes/wishbones/under carriage will have to wait till when she's off the road next year. But that's my project. Restoration projects are circumstantial (unless you've bottom-less pockets) I guess it all depends on your budget and time plan. Best of luck with what you decide and don't forget to keep all those pictures flowing. :D

I thought a Corrado owner would be able spot the difference

Not by me but the Mrs... Upholland, Lancashire, Wednesday night. "A dark coloured one". One of your headlights isn't working. But you probably already know this !

Might be 50 people wanting to know the answer as well. I'd like to know.

It'll certainly sound faster by losing all the sound deadening.

And I thought your bay was already top drawer ! Nice to meet you on the Friday. Here's some pictures of my slam panel as promised (Note the air con bolts as discussed): climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfP1040228.JPG[/attachment:3mc33vss] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfP1040230.JPG[/attachment:3mc33vss] P1040229.JPG[/attachment:3mc33vss]

Blimey, had to have a second look at the reg on the Nothelle corrado. Thought it was mine for a second (Scotts of sloane square car as well) ! Those wheels are awesome. Saw them on a Rallye in Ian Kuahs book but they seem bigger and also in 5 bolt. Good find.

Bump Strips Painted the bump strips (a la gutter strips) in satin black. I tried everything to "bring them back to life" but it wasn't happening. I've already budgeted on them chipping so perhaps a new/mint set is in the offing for next spring. Steering Wheel I've been after one of these steering wheels for a long time now. They always sell for big money on the bay but was only prepared to pay so much. One popped up on a "but it now" last week for handy money and it really is as good as new, with no marks or wear (which is a rarity as they stopped making them a good few years ago and most of them have been fitted). It's an absolute joy as a steering wheel and has a wonderful "feel" to it. Don't get me wrong I'm not ditching the standard wheel but the OE part is rather thick and unsophisticated in comparison. The look of the wood and perforated leather compliments the dashboard/interior to a T.

Today - 11am (Friday 12th) - M6 south bound near the NEC turn off (Classic car show ?) L** NUG - Bordeaux red VR6. Started to put my foot down then realised I was in the BM. First one I've seen in months. And a good one at that !
-
Wouldn't bother. It's not like they're rare... Only kidding. Be a good idea to get an idea of numbers left on the road though.
-
That's very kind of you. Went to see the doctor today and he diagnosed Lumbago. The tablets and Radian B he prescribed have made a notable difference, though I'm going to leave it till late on Thursday to decide whether we attend. I'm staying positive at the moment. :)
-
You haven't seen it under the hood ! Hardly show material  Been laid up all day as I've (and I'm no expert) seriously hurt my back. It's going to be a last minute thing if I manage to attend as I'm struggling to make it accross the house at the moment, so may stuggle with all those halls. Going to see Doctor Ryder tomorrow for a prognosis but it isn't feeling/looking good.
-
Yes it will. If you see Brian Sewell and James May look alikes crawling around under your car then you know that we've made it to the NEC safe and sound. Sounds like a plan. Take some with you and I'll sort you some sheckles at the show.
-
Probably something to with being fourty quid each  I got some off ebay. Good but not excellent fit. Stuck them over the old ones and ran a bead of black silicone around the edge/gap and smoothed it out. They look pretty OE now. £11 for the pair delivered.
-
So get it posted up already !
-
Sounds like your motor is on the way out.
-
VW sold millions of them. Why the hatred ?

Absolutely Judith. Greater rolling resistance with 205's. 195's for economy and 205's for handling. To be fair Tom, owning an 8V Corrado wouldn't be considered rare compared to what it would be replacing  . So I'd be looking for a well kept model at a fair price. Distance not an issue for the the "right car". Spanners keep getting thrown into the mix though. Had a quote on a new shape beetle for the same money. I guess a weekend of deliberation is in order. I do like the look of that Anniversary though...
