Does LATE (widetrack) suspension fit EARLY Corrados?
mariojoshi replied to mariojoshi's topic in Drivetrain
Thanks Pete - Your points are definitely valid, but...... if what we know is right (VR being heavy etc) why is there often only ONE kit for a Corrado (various manufacturers!) The springs on this setup are Eibach pros - which are NOT vr specific - so only the damping could be different?! The cars have a "basic axle" and a "plus axle" but I was unsure if the physical fittings were different - Maybe the rears won't fit then? The guy from Bilstien didn't know either, but his mate at Eibach up the road (with a Corrado) might, so I'm calling back tomorrow! Cheers for your reply :) Hope things are well with you buddy. -
How much power is it running and how highly tuned is the car? If it's really highly strung, it could be a huge money pit! Can I ask what Z4 is like? Coupe or Cab? I've been thinking Z4 coupe, possibly an M - but wondered what they were like to live with (as a second car in my case cos of the company car) Josh

That made me chuckle, Shaun! ;)
-
Yup, mine is now my toy, rather than my daily since getting a company car. She's usually grumpy with me because I don't drive her enough, so breaks things just to make a point ;) With the price of fuel and spares, I guess they aren't quite so practical these days? Having said that, some sporty newer cars still have a poor MPG and the spares are even more expensive, so... :confused4:
-
Christ! This car is going to be awesome when it's finished then!
-
Don't bother with crappy 6 X 9s - You sit in the front... not the back, and have got your sound spectrum pretty much sorted. If they aren't amplified - get them amped. If you haven't got one, get a decent 10 or 12" sub for the boot and amp that. JOB DONE!
-
Are your front speakers rainbow components (with separate tweeters and crossovers) or coaxials?
-
Are you in need of any black interior plastic bits then fella?! Or do you have it all already? Also, if you're already heated - did you still want to buy the loom/switch?! Didn't realise this was the way you were planning on doing it!
-
It's swings and roundabouts mate - Some things genuinely are quite rare, so command a crazy price - even though they may simply be some wires and plugs ;) Not sure you can get them from VW whole, but if you can, the prices are probably even more ridiculous. On the other hand (as I sell a fair bit of kit on here) I see things that you'd genuinely think are worth good cash being sold for peanuts.... so as I said, sometimes good, sometimes bad. God knows the values of the cars themselves fell through the floor!
-
I think the last one was sold for £100 without the relays or the switch! Was a bit surprised by this! I heard the relays were £40 each (x2) from VW?
-
As above guys and gals! Based on the fact that you can often only buy one coilover or suspension kit for the Corrado - I'd say YES. However, I've got some dampers that I'm selling that appear to have different part numbers for different cars - I.E - the G60 is listed as having the basic axle and therefore has a different P/N to the VR6 which has the plus axle. The fitting, as far as I can tell is no different between all Corrados? Found a lot of interesting stuff using the search - but couldn't find this answer out!

Ha! Agreed - it's because Hamilton is constantly on the limit! I often thought it was ridiculous that the team made his strategy such that he couldn't come in for fresh tyres enough through this season.
-
McLaren really is Hamilton's team though - Throwing Button in there to play second fiddle? I'm not sure that's going to work! Sounds like a recepie to upset the balance of things to me. Will be interesting to see what happens though! Merc are still going to be providing engines to McLaren 'til 2015 I believe...
-
They are pretty bloody pointless IMHO. Unless maybe your engine is highly stressed or the car is more of a track car - that's the only reason I can think of that would warrant such an item.
-
Monkey, buy my supersprint!
-
Presumably they have these in stock - whereas the Corrado ones tend to be made to order :(

Great idea! Anything to do with Lambda sensors - 22mm spanner! :salute: -
rubbish brakes on my auto vr6?? and box??
mariojoshi replied to marmite monster's topic in Drivetrain
If you want some stainless hoses to stop the flex in the old rubber items that reduce braking power - let me know as I've got a set available! -
Looks great - just needs a subtle lower to make it perfect.... IMHO!
-
Kinda similar...?!
-
No... but WOW! :)

Don't you have to be within touching distance (or even within sight) to beat them through the twisty bits? Owned =D

Question to those who have carbon bonnets.
mariojoshi replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in Exterior
David.... was it my carbon bonnet that you saw today in Milton Keynes?! Classic Green VR on Teledials...!? Turbo - Mine took a little bit of adjusting to get it perfect, but it all lined up pretty much OK to be honest. -
Only bought the REAR TT/R32 Doughnut shaped ones - decided to go with OE standards for the fronts.
