  7. You can buy the centre caps off compomotive direct : http://www.comp.co.uk/info/products.asp

    Headlight Mod

As long as the light functions and is set up correctly there is no issues as far as i can gather or see from a testers point of view so i would not worry in that department .
  10. My mate put something similar on his 51 plate TT (pre aero wipers ) and they miss the center of the screen above 60mph even they did not have the spring pressure in the arm to keep them on the screen properly.
  11. I run 7.5" wheels with an et20 on the rear and they dont stick out
  12. all models excluding vr6 4 stud only then .
  13. look at my pics on the first page they sit level when you use the headlight protectors which i was happy about as it was some protection too.
  14. hi yes mate im a tester for my sins :) theres no engine number required at all in the cars log in details which is daft ( sort of ), the problem with engine numbers is where do you find then on the engine when an engine is 10 years old and the block as rusted and the engine numbers have all but disapeared this is where the problem will arrise chassis numbers are allways visible so theres not an issue , if they want engine numbers logged there going to have to change the way the car makers put numbers on engine blocks , and i cant see that happening in a hurry . Paul ps, I dont ever remember engine numbers on certificates , only early ones they used to put engine size which they later dropped also.
  15. was it a straight swap , sorry to keep on i dont want to get the wrong axle and if i have a mk2 golf option too theres more chance of me finding one i might hi jack my mums E reg Golf gti axle i will do here a swap :D
  16. so it looks like i can use the rear beam off a mk2 golf as well but i will have to use the chassis mount plates to as the bushes are smaller .
  17. Thanks for the info mate , 10mm per side is well worth the mod i think as that will make the et from 15 to 25 which is great thanks for the info now all i have todo is hunt for a g60 or 16v axle :)
  18. The mot has no issues at all with engine numbers in as much as you do not enter an engine number at all into the VOSA computerisation system so i dont know who told you this but there 100% wrong , sorry for the topic wondering but there it is . there is a mention of engine changes in the testers manual but no engine numbers: (info lifted directly out of testers manual) Vehicles fitted with modified engines ___________________________________ If an engine has been modified in any way, it still has to meet the exhaust emission requirements according to the age of the vehicle. also :Test according to which is older, engine or vehicle. e.g. A 1995 car fitted with a 1991 engine (of whatever make), test to 1991 standards for emission purposes. Note: The onus is on the vehicle presenter to prove engine age.
  19. i thought is was just the discs to do the studs as there as one hub and disc , is there any axle mount issues and what the width difference in axles Paul
  20. hi strange i know but will i have any issues putting a 16v/g60 rear axle on a vr6 , why you ask i want 9x16 on the rear and i will surely have less arch mods with a 4 stud axle , or is this not a worth while mod as i dont know how much difference there actually is any help or ridicule welcome :D
  21. Touch wood , i had a great pedal with the conversion right from the word go and after bed in it got better , and ive never had the abs kicking in any more than before (are you locking a wheel up ?) have you tried a pressure bleed thats how i bleed mine .
  22. this old chesnut again , personally i use hids and have for 6years now , as for legality does everyone do the speed limit exactly all the time ? do any of you use a phone ? "fag anyone" both hands on the wheel at all times unless operating a control on the car eg, handbrake ,turn signal , changing gear etc anyone tune the radio in etc as in an accident its all deemed dangerous driving , and as for uprated bulbs a lot are not emarked also illegal, and hid light dazzling people ok not if adjusted correctly and giving the correct beam pattern , and i see so many halogen lights adjusted badly its unreal i would say around 50-60% of all cars i test need a tweek on the adjusters to put them in tolerence, so basically im not looking for an argument but we all do what we do ,even if its right or wrong im also not condoning the illegal actions just saying were human and as for making yet another thing illegal in this country i think where in enough of a nanny state as we are :salute:
  23. No i think its 2005 on but im not 100%, i know my mate doesnt have them on his 52 plate TT.
