  1. problems like this are common with any old car to specify v.a.g. is daft the amount of corsa ferrules i fail in a year is no ones buisness but its old cars in general corrosion is life im affraid steel came from the ground and it will eventually end up back there Paul how much do you rekon it would cost to get all my problems fixed? well the flexi is not exspensive 10 pounds max , the actual steel brake pipes not costly either , the only real issue i see is the caliper depending if it will free and clean up or you are going to have to buy a new one which is around 50 pounds from gsf just to give you an idea it then depends on your garages rates or a mates rates cheers paul
  2. yes mate 20 yrs in the same garage and 10 yrs worth of testing for my sins

  4. i have never understood mindless vandalism , if there were pinching something i would understand it , i dont condone it but i sort of understand it in a way at least they are geting something out of it , but scratching cars and smashing bits off them WHY :bad-words:
  5. if you sprayed carbon bonnet that looks tidy but doesnt help this situation but 400 for a bonnet spray is dick turpin terratory 200 tops and i for the jap chav thing and no german cars may i point out the awesome and drop dead gorgeous swb sport quattro every panel but the doors are composite and that would be no1 on my top garage list :D
  6. hi ignition switch rich fuel or to much carbon build up depends if its a horrible running on or if its sounds normal when its doing it it cant be the ignition pack unless its still got a voltage going to it and that would be the ign switch
  7. partial retests are free within 10 days. partial retests are free if the garage wants them to be but they are allowed to charge half the original fee and the 10 day are working days excluding weekends and bank holidays , so effectively 2 weeks .
  8. hi hc is unburnt fuel its measured in parts per million , your car should have flew through at 218 or 500 what age is the car there is earlier limits than what follows but there pre corrado limits are as follows upto m reg cars and inclusive the limits are upto 1200 ppm and 3.5% (this is idle test only no fast idle required), from N to august 2002 the limit is 200ppm and .3% and there after the limit is 200 ppm and .2% which obviously does not effect the corrado so there is no way your car should have been a fail ,unless its newer than m reg at 218 your car is in very good health and no adjustments are needed the high hc is generally an indication of timing out or knackered engine its not cat related , (no car needs a cat for test it only has to fall into the right emission limits) hope this helps if you need any more info i am happy to help :salute:
  9. hi again my dogs from greece , my wife brought him back to the uk after finding him on the beach half dead as a puppy, and wow was that an exspensive act of mercy
  10. its definately not an advantage , not having to drive :) i am glad i have to drive to work it starts the day off some much nicer
  11. hi hope you get it all sorted i double checked this morning on a few things and headlights dont even need a e mark to pass a test as i thought, so as you suspected i think he was in little hitlers camp cheers ps . no i dont know what its like to have someone else drive your car as testers can test there own cars , even i dont think that should be allowed :salute:
  12. what a load of crap your tester is telling you its e marked thats it ,e mark means its approved for european use and headlights do not even need an e mark as i said before the projector lights are spot on for test in an inpro , i know i am a tester , put your inpros in get them adjusted right go back for test , and if he fails it ask him under what in the testers manual and then ask him for an appeal form see what that does for him , i wish i was closer i would pass it good luck :)
  13. thanks for that much appreciated :salute:
  14. hi have done a search but cant seem to find what thread the oil pressure switch is , i want to fit a oil pressure sender unit and want the correct thread for it thanks in advance .
  15. i guessed that when i saw your pics , but the title made me think that something had been done with the rubbish lever cover other than pushing it back on every time you let the handbrake off, oh well
  16. i thought you meant the actual handbrake lever cover piece that is rubbish, thats the piece that annoys me anyway
  17. mate your steering wheels on the wrong side :D only kidding welcome to this hive of information
  18. cant you refix the clip with araldite for now, why would the inpros fail i am very intrested because for my sins i have inpros and also am a tester and cant see for the life of me why inpros would fail there beam pattern is far superior being a projector light and the dip beam efficiency is the only reason i had inpros and as its only dip set up that comes into a test as far as alignment is concerned i really cant understand the problem
  19. no probs mate the sig seemed to fit its all good fun thou :D
  20. bumpstops arent free but the should pull over the damper shaft , they normally sit at the top of the damper shaft .

  24. i am no master but the pipe diameters will be different the vr will have a bigger bore pipe , at the end of the day it is nearly a 3litre so it requires more flow
  25. i have a jetex 2.5" system on my vr with cat by pass very nice not too noisy in fact you can hardly hear it in till you plant it fits perfect and has been on the car for 3 years with no problems at all ,pipes are still shiney and so are the boxes all pipe bend are perfect no crimping or squashing first class , i was a scorpion man but they do tend to be noisy but i would have another stainless jetex
