you dont know if the golf has ever had its head skimmed as this will up compression , the golfs reading are a little high the vr reading look nice and even i would have no worries at all with them readings , your smoke is more than likely a bit of stem wear there is posts covering this , are you using much oil then ? mine will do a little puff of blue sometimes but it has to be really hot and after a long down hill , it does nt do it otherwise, and no oil is being used , lots of vag engine get stem wear or seal wear i would not worry about it to much unless you are throwing loads of oil in .

Tilt the sunroof up, get hold of the linign and pull it back a bit, it should detach from the roof now, you'll probably have to let the lining down and slide it forward, to get the flap back flush (you'll see what I mean) and slide it back into the roof. You can then get at 4 torx screws that go through the mech into the panel, they should be the only ones that go horizontally outwards and are right under the panel itself. They're at all 4 corners. oh and when sliding back make sure you line the little pins back in to the slides in the tilting bit of the panel , thanks again. :salute:

i keep meaning to do this , as my roof has wind noise above 65 , and if i am going to adjust it i may as well change it for something different. My mate had wind noise from his sunroof at motorway speeds, he didn't address it which eventually resulted in the sunroof completely removing itself from the car at high speed - luckily no-one was behind him as it could have killed someone very easily! - If I was you i'd get it sorted! bugger thats all i can say , i have tryed looking for adjustment screws but no luck so i was going to pull the headlining and drop the whole frame at the front of it that way , hence thats why i have not had a bash at it yet , someone in a search said they adjust on screws at the front but i fail to see which ones.

h + r springs as with some other makes have close coils one end so when you jack the car up they expand and stop the spring falling off the seat, because if this happens you will fail an mot , and its anoying havin to put it back when you lower it back down. oh yeah i use vogtland springs with koni sport ta s , the ride and handling is spot on. http://vogtlandsuspension.com/

This is the method i have been trialing of late, works a treat i started doing it that way when i had a scirroco with bucket seats and harnesses you could lower yourself in the seat without doing yourself an injury on the edge of the seat , then after that i just kept doing it , it really works for me and saves the seat bolsters nicely :)
-
nice car control :salute: , what an absolute nut case thou :)
-
hi i get in left foot first and lower myself into the seat holding the windscreen pillar with my right hand, to get out i sort of push off the sill with my right hand pushing my self out i hardly touch the bolster..

hi a 7.5" rim will not stick the tyre tread out anymore than a 7" its the et that regulates were the tyre sits so i would go for a 7.5" all day long the tyres will sit better and they just look nicer as the rim will fill the arch just that little bit more..
-
we want photographic evidence
-
is it the picture or does the wheel sit further forward in the wheel arch , as normally there nice and even front and rear of the arch.
-
yep am running et35 on a 7.5 x 16 on the front and they sit really nice with no issues , i was running them on the back but they sat in a little further so i run et25 on the rear now ,but 35 had loads of room on the back i did run a 5mm spacer which made them et30s obviously and they sat even down the side of the car and filled the arches out the same , but i had the 25s as they had a slightly wider rim what can you do :)
