  1.  Quality!! ''They cant have been there naturally'' I can't help but picture Chuck in one of those school play type Tree suits creeping nearer and nearer the road before.....HEEE'YAHHHH!! joking aside - just glad the guy's ok after the incident..absolute miracle
  2. I suppose that's a good thing - like yourself - not really a fan of the barry boy school of exhaust installation! Can you feel increase in power gain - or is this a myth? the advert claims ''10-12% increase in power''!!!
  3. cheers Guys! That's settled then. out've interest, did you feel any differance performance wise after the install?
  4. again, this shows the 'pure character' of these cars! It sensed a serious problem and locked the bonnet. Genius. 'K.I.T' from Night Rider sort've stuff :notworthy:
  5. just wondering if this is a wise move. Any thoughts? Venom have quoted me at £370 (plus £15 for 'ding dong')
  6. do as the man says! (hope attachment worked) Your sendiments are spookily similier to mine when I was without the magic. U just knew something was missing. Now I can't go to bed without tucking her in for the night (or 'locking the car' to normal people :D ) and then staring at it for a while, 'wow, those lines are stunning :luvlove: ' or 'man, those wheel arches make it look so, sort of..just...grrrrrrr') ok - dizzy spell over for now
  7. :salute: One Green Storm not on UK soil reporting for duty! Bought in Ipswish, from original owner. Will dig out the VIN etc. Also a Mystic blue Storm I've spotted a few times over here. Again, you can never be sure if it's real deal - and I've not met the gentleman so.... However, if there's any Irish owners out there, there's a meet up in Carrickmines in Dublin first Sunday of every month. Perhaps we'll get some C's up there
  8. mate - gutted for you - but when push comes to shove responsibility wise, you gotta man-up i guess. If any consolation, I drove round in a 1.1 Clio for nearly a year while 'Operation Get Storm' was in the making. It's a tough long road - but as you know, to the victor, the spoil(er)s :brickwall: ...best a luck :salute:
  9. the second one is a walk away job. The first one is interesting. Say 1,400 / 1,500 cash for the car, I'd be getting an AA check done. They highlight the real issues and you'd know there and then if it's worth further thought. Could be they say she needs this, this and this , but apart from that she's in good shape - you'd have a choice to make. Given total fix-up costs don't stretch beyond it being worth your while. Maybe just a few hundred to get her ship shape? she's got good mileage (if proved), interior sounds good, colours favourable etc. These ads are spot on for people with garage space/time & know how - they can turn these rough stones into diamonds. However, as per above, looking for basement price VR6's is a dangerous game - but, every so often, one comes along that's priced like this, and really there's only a few niggles to sort out. Question is, can you spot it!!
  10. I reckon you can be too pally when drawing up a car ad. If this was in Autotrader, with those pics, a proper write up just listing facts (a la Rafa  ) like history, work done & any extras etc, and providing it checked out drive-wise and mileage wise, £3k - £3,500 would be about right. If it's a straight honest car - it's a very nice example indeed.
  11. Anyone catch the 'Wheeler Dealers' show that had them restore a Ferrari 308? Was on last night. Just thought I'd check them out on P'heads and their going for quite big cash. 20k and up. Most are in stunning condition so fair enough, but the one the lads on the show restored was pretty well sorted as far as I could tell, yet they put it in at 13,995, and let her go for 13k flat i think it was. To quote Mike Brewer, ''Am I missing sum'ink''? Maybe the more informed of you can explain this apparent descrepancy? or at worst, spell descrepany properly :brickwall: just a passing thought really.... http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1185922.htm
  12. yeah, it's a nice example all right. Wheels not my bag, but look ok on it, not sure if he or she mentioned the private plates were part of sale though  If the little niggles mentioned have been sorted and the body work / engine are both in good nick i'd say 2k is, while a little high to kick off, probably in the right area.
  13. cheers gents - I'll have a butchers at those mentioned. Audi does sound nice. :)
  14. Guys - family thing about to happen - wife very chubby round the waist and quite moody. In order to keep said Storm ruling the rost round my way I'm looking to deflect her attention back towards replacing her mini city joke car for a short wheel base / safe / family car / jeep thingy. Main requirments are: Has to be medium length (please, it's to early for knob gags) as she's not a fan of long estate cars etc. Recent model / make say 2002 upwards Price wise no more then £5/6k Makes: well german preferred but price may dictate otherwise cheers :salute:
  15. chufie on way to work - was driving along slow'ish waiting for temp to hit 84 and big 40ft haulage trucker came flying up behnd me and flashed, thought he was giving out  but he then pulled into over taking lane blocking traffic and sat just behind and as I approached a slower car up ahead he flashed me in and with temp up to speed duly obliged pulled out and torn off along the empty stretch of road with the trucker flashing away and honking  I gave him the hazards back to be kind. Now I know this could be just a nut-case in truck with a thing for green cars, but I reckon he was a fan..... weird how get lots of thumbs up / shows of appreciation from bikers & truckers  :pale:
  16. same as 'corsameal' my two VR's have been green, so there davidwort  The classic green, IMO, is much more deep then Dragon, so for that reason I'm 'Mcloven' it (sorry, just watched 'Superbad') Twilight violet is stunning also For your stand out / go-speed racer colours the nugget is spot on, was really hanging on for any blue shade vr when was buying, but the green storm was at a great price. Fav colour = Mystic blue least fav = black
  17. Good stuff mate  Looking forward to your thoughts tomorrow on how it all went. Fingers crossed you get some dry weather this evening :mad2: Always nice to throw on a fav tune I reckon 8) , but then you miss out on the engine roar  Best'a luck :salute:
  18. bought my Storm in Nov 2009 from it's original owner, and just getting the Irish plates on this week
  19. http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1459289.htm Hope this link works. A bit bored, thought I'd see if anyone else found this ad gave a ''hmmmm, nice cars those S3's'' feeling?? The colour is Hibiscuis (i think) Red. Photo number 2 is one of the best pics of an S3 i've seen in a while. anyway, back to work....
  20. stunning aqua blue G60 '91 reg in carpark in Greystones/Eire - parked correctly miles away from dopey door dingers - lovely set of boret wheels. I left a note to say 'wat up!'
  21. top tip there re the temp. I always wait tills she's up to the 84 and reckon that's a massive thing..couldn't imagine jumping in and firing up to 5k revs!!
  22. Hi Neil! :salute: yeah it's going real well cheers - just changed the HT leads and she's move more better revs wise. Just waiting for the insurance plums to stop counting all our money and start doing something :mad2: Damage isn't to bad, just new grill, front bumper respray and fixing kit for the front lamps. But loving every min in it  Just three things to sort and I'll be happy, I swear   wheels refurb new full exhaust system (the magnex Oval) new pioneer headunit....and that's it....I think :brickwall: Thanks again for your extensive prep work - everyone who drives her are smitten, so thanks again mate :notworthy: You planning any mods?
  23. - so true - i remember someone posted a picture of their C over in Australia, not sure it was 'carpoid', but it showed the car gleaming away sitting in driveway with lovely blue sky everywhere and not a drop of rain in sight!! - I'd prob drive from Melbourne to Sydney every weekend!
  24. sorry mods - i know this should be in the 'spotted' thread, but as it was an Irish spot it's more special right? :camp: Just wondering if the driver of that very tidy 95' Galway reg VR6 is on the forum. We passed each other on the coast road out've Wicklow town. I'm the plonker who flashed you from quite possibly the furthest away any two cars can be when one's flashing the other! Apologies, I was a little excited. Thankfully my car was all clean & shiney, apart from front grill missing the 'VR' badge :censored: (some little scrote reversed into me before Christmas) - I felt like screaming, ''IT'S A STORM MATE I SWEAR, LOOK, CHECK OUT THE PAINT CODE''! If your on here, drop us a PM :salute: Cheers
