Hi all just wondering as i thought a little while ago you could get 300 bhp from the little pg whats the average bhp from the engine so here it is please post your recorded bhp from rolling road or best guessitmate (make sure you state flywheel or wheels power) i know most have the spec of the car on the signature but if not just a brief one then we all know what we are aiming for with what mods cheers stu
  3. sod no turbos here i love the whine from the supercharger like i sad its all pie in the sky was thinking about that bbm charger but as it £1500 thats a big pie nah just wondering how far you can go with G60 with a good intercooler looks like its about 250 ish does anyone have any exprience in charge coolers ? cheers stu..

Hi all :wave: im going to be looking at an after market intercooler soon heard good things about the rad tec all on in one water rad and intercooler but the whole water rad welded togethier with the intercooler worrys me about heat transfer ?? whats everyone opinon ? :shrug: looking to take the pg to about 250 to 300 bhp hopefully so i need a good intercooler to do this or is 250-300 impossible to reach ? its all pie in the sky at the moment but would want to stat down the right track rather than fit something then change it later cus it anit up to it cheers stu...
  5. Hi all :wave: we all know that if the sensor is missing the mfa read -40 and if its there but broken the mfa doesnt give you the read out option it just skips it after the oil temp reading ! Well my car had the later no read out so last night i unplugged it from the driver side lower front valance removed the sensor (which looks like 2 tiny yellow cables with a white cap on the end ) and found it had been repaired (ish) but mainly the connector was all corroded due to its position one remake of sensor connection and light scrape of the connector and bingo all good :clap: I now read 20 deg well last night i did and dropped to 18 on the way home (wind chill i guess) so if anyone is out there like me it might be worth just cleaning the connector and trying it before buying new ! hope it helps stu....
  6. thats helps alot cheers ive do have a g60 and have seen the so called get max boost fit a one way isv valve but was pretty sure it done something important but was not sure maybe this will get those people with one valves to change back and SAVE there engines melted pistons dont look good !!! heavens full of PG engines it dont need anymore stu...
  7. yes me my mfa misses the whole outside temp thing altogethier ive been told that if your sensor is there but broken it reads -40 if it not there at all then it misses it out on the selection cheers stu...
  8. hi just about to fit an oil cooler so hence new oil hope you can say weather the oil ive bought should be ok Make Corrado Model G60 Year Jreg (94 ?) Engine size/type 1800 PG Any mods 68 pully k.n panel filter sns chip stage 4 charger and soon to be fitted mocal oil cooler Type of use (road/track) track never unless you call the odd race on the streets i drive hard sometimes but easy others mixed Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used)on private road errrhmm i was doing 130mph which the oil then shot up to 130 deg C on motorways at a steady 70-80 ish i see about 120 degC its only when i drive like a nun 60-70 on there i see 110 deg C using Vw quatrum 5w 40w semi sinc What do you want a recommendation for? Engine, Gearbox etc? Engine please i know the temps will come down with the oil cooler but nice to have good oil in as well cheers stu....

    ok next question i cant find one it doesnt have electroinc a/c so how much is a new one i know the guy before me fitted a new engine so looks like he "missed " alot of the other stuff that went back cheersss stu .
  10. measuring boost is a hard task are you measuring with a calibrated gauge using the vw training video or just looking at the boost guage youve fitted on piller mount as you drive down the road ? also at what revs ? mine got a 68mm pully sns chip and stage 4 charger (jabba) and i see 10psi commonly all the time spirted driving on my auto gauge meter ive know the charger can do 14psi -13psi as its been staged4 but the only time ive really seen it is on a rolling road in 3rd gear with the revs reading 6000rpm doing a power run so only 10psi may not be the true max reading for that charger help it eases your mind

    mfa outside temp -40 i dont have that on my G60 i have oil temp but not outside temp was it an option on later cars or vr6 only mine an J reg ive only just found mfa 1 aswell ive been runing around thinking there was only one setting mfa 2 found some numb nuts had put the brown plug in the wrong way around under the dash shessh!!!
  12. yeah its a G60 thanks for the info on the jubliee clipped hose the pas pump used to only click/tick at 1500 but know its on tick over aswell so i do think the bearings are shafted well and truly the car done about 100K so its about time for the pump to go already had the charger off and checked over by Midland Vw who said its all fine and well put togethier the more i think about it i might get them to change the pas pump and fit my oil cooler aswell mmmmmmm!!!!!
  13. yeah and i noticed the one run along the front up passed the battery and down onto a metal pipe which i guess goes to the rack you reacon leave it to a garage to do just incase i shear something and im struck with no transport
  14. hi guys and girls :D i having a go at changing my power steering pump next week as it clicking like a possezed typist (and its getting worst) it looks a simple enough job two hoses couple of bolts but i did spot what looks like a water hose connection on the front of it with a jubliee clip securing the hose has this got a water feed to it ? other than that any else to watch out for im mechcanial minded :clap: but always like to ask before i do a job for the first time !! cheers stu :salute:

  16. i know summer here ish but i did notice a problem when we had the winter !! on early morning like before 6am the car is covered in ice in winter times i obversely clean the windows before driving off but the spolier is also iced up is there a way to disable the spolier coming up at 45 mph as i think it made break the motor /mech if its trying to push it up and its caked in ice locking it down ? cheers stu ..

    hi people i was hoping someone will shed some light on this ive heard of one way isv valves on the internet but according to the g60 vag tech video which is posted on you tube the isv bleeds boost when it gets over 15psi as a saftey measure so why woould you have a one way valve ???? cheers stu ...
  19. hi people i drive a modded G60 (chip pulley exhaust air filter about 190 at flywheel) and mpg according to the mpa on mine is on a cold morning to work is 5mpg as it never comes off choke i only live 4 miles aways so it dont get warm enough and now the warm weather here i get 21mpg to work as car warms up quicker driving like a loon i can get it down to 12-17 mpg just something to thing about if you only live a few miles from your place of work !!! also i agreed with the above the G60 is a performance car not a honda jazz hence no good mpg but lots of power cheers stu ....

Warning about runing car and disconnecting the battery The battery act as a smoothing device on the car to stop any peaks or not quite dc wave forms going around the car electrics runing the car without a battery is very bad for the ecu as any spikes will not get sucked into the battery but run around the looms spiking the electronics first !!!! if one diode is gone on your pack (true dc requires 4 diodes half wave dc only 2 i dont know how many are in the bosch unit ) it will act as a short hence draining the battery hence the warm alternator just though i throw my 2p in cheers stu ...
  22. hi Guys ive always looked after my charger ie warm up and cool down but just recently its started making a gumble /rumble noise on wind down its been staged 4 and got a 68 mm pully on it ,it was refurb by g-werks so i know its a good rebuild and its only done about 13k on the rebuild i drive hard sometimes but never thrash it to death ever ill do the odd see you from the lights trick but never no full on street or track race with it this is whats happens start it up no probs tick over no prob blip the acclerator no probs it makes boost, run it at 2000rpm and higher no probs but when i let go of the pedal as the engine comes back down from say 2000 rpm at the last 500 rpm just before it gets to 750-650 rpm tick over it rumbles like its rubbing and gumbles like a bearing is slack any ideas ?? cheers stu
  23. Hi people :clap: right sry for the silly question here but new to my g60 and need to put my mind at rest !! Changed the sparks plugs on the raddo yesterday no problems but the ones i took out where w6dpo bosch items with the conventional pin and tag look which were slighty black around the outside and and ashly white/ grey on the pin and tag (i hope this is means im runing ok ) but the new ones which was ordered from euro parts using there selector screen for make, model, year, menus was also a bosch item but the number was w6dp no O and they are a tag and white cone assembly not pin point the car runs fine though the rev range and started first time off the button as always this morning (which was icey cold ). I had the choice of beru and some make on the euro part thing but i heard good things about the bosch ones as mentioned on the forum so i went for the bosch ones,ive also checked on the forum to see if anyone knows the difference between the two part numbers and it looks like the 0 means its a platium item yet the box and the plug has platium plug written on it and they was £11 a plug so i doubt there normal copper ones as they retail at about £5 im totally confused someone insight would be graful cheers stu ...... :shrug: :scratch:
  24. hi guys right i had a sicrroco scala before and the dash computer dont alot more than the rados one can anyone list the standard function of the G60 one at the mo ive got mpg, oil temp,mile travelled ,time taken and average speed pulling the slide switch all the way to the left zeros it all but pushing in the little button on the end does nothing not sure on weather got a dicky switch or the computer doesnt do have the stuff the scirroco did ?? cheers stu ....
