Ive got it drying out at the moment anyway, and some sealant on it so I'l put it back on tomorow when its had a chance to dry out properly, see if its the cause. Hope it is!

Got a few problems with it running rough, its a 200 AUE engine with coil pack similar to the VR6. Ive been getting some differing opinions as to what it is, so thought I'd ask here to. This is what I posted on Vortex: Shes been running as rough as hell lately, (Golf, not Corrado) but only when its wet/damp/cold. If I leave her sit running to dry out for a bit then she runs ok. She also has the older style coil "pack" like the 12v VR, not the later individual coils like the engine on my Corrado. What do you guys reckon? Im leaning towards a split in the coil pack. I havent got a copy of vag-com either to test it as yet. Should I remove the pack and try to seal it? Is it the same as the 12v version? I have since removed the coil pack and am drying it out. It has a small crack on the plastic underside, so gonna seal it and try it again. Do you reckon Im on the right track or could it be something like the lambda? the exhaust emission light flashes on and stays solid afterwards btw. Cheers Stan

You crazy fool

I keep having the same dilemma myself, but have now decided to hold on to her. There are a lot of good people and cheap parts on this forum, and provided youre willing to get your hands dirty now and again, you should be ok. How much did your zorst cost? Did you look for a second hand one first? its just that sort of thing which will help you save some pennies. On the other hand, if its hurting your pocket quite badly then its not worth losing sleep over it, and I'd say sell it, just try to hold on for the weather and market to pick up a bit. Hope it all works out for you anyway ;)

Anyone know what protocol 9C9C means? When the engine is off it reads ok, but when its running I get the error message below. Ive had a quick scan and someone mentioned setting the baud rate manually, but what is it??

Any of you guys got the older style coil pack on your 24v engines? The mrs Golf has one, but mine doesnt, so it must have been the change over period. Anyhow, her car is running like a pig when the air is damp/wet unless warmed up to dry out, Im assuming cracked coil pack, anyone got any other ideas? Also, is it the same as the 12v VR coil pack??

Awesome car mate!! Did it cross your mind to possibly use the rear quarter windows for air scoops, instead of the roof? May have been easier??? -
My missus drives my C. The first time she drove it after me new engine she was wondering what I was going on about, until she put her foot down on the slip road onto the M6 and realised why, and she now owns a V6 4motion Golf, so it cant be all that bad

Are you leaving it looking the military style? looks good either way ;)

Mileage is just over 100k, but who cares!!?? He didnt get it anyway :(

He went to our local VW specialist and said he liked the car on the forecourt. They know him as we're regular customers, and said he could take it for the night if he wanted to show his wife, to see if she liked it, he obviously obliged!!! £14995, not bad eh 8) (Sory, crappy phone pictures)

No bearings arent more than £20, however if you know a garage that only charges £20 per hour youre doing well!!

Or you can fit some bright wide angled LEDs, I remember seeing them somewhere cos it had me thinking that I could do with it too, but in Red ;)

How much is 7 coats and a weekend of mopping costing you????

Sounds like a clip/holder inside is broken. Maybe a new part, but wouldnt have thought it'd be expensive, if you can get one. Off topic: Do you work for HIC?
-
Ive written a guide, just need it uploading though ;)
-
Nope, wouldnt have thought so, how you gonna remove the enigne cover if you need a topup in a hurry??

 Mrs B has in fact gone off the idea now, but said that she would prefer to have one good Corrado, rather than two mediocre ones  VR time then!!! ;) 8)

HELP NEED A NEW VW MECHANIC (Derby Area)!!!!!!!!
Stan 24v replied to inky's topic in Suppliers Forum
If youre willing to travel a little bit mate, then you wont do better than PSI Tuning, Newcastle under lyme. Its ony about 30 miles from Derby. Andy Walker runs it, and he did my engine as well as a few 1.8T's etc, and knows his stuff!! http://www.psituning.com/ http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... psi+tuning
