Ok thank. I'm not worried about the tires as I'm planning to get new set anyway, but yes, please let me know once you've bought new wheels then I'll pm you and maybe work out a deal or something; there are a set of RZs on sale at the forum 'parts for sale' but they are located in Derby so too far... Cheers! If I knew they actually did RZs with 5-stud then I wouldn't have bought the BBS Solitudes! I thought only G60 4-stud! Duh! Nevermind. :) VRs sound great above 3500rpm don't they! Hope you get the car back soon! Vr's do indeed sound awesome!! If anything id like to arrange a sale for the Rz's before commiting to buy any other wheels so ill pm u as soon as i get the car back and some pics!

Got four different quotes from different garages to fix the minor rust (arch) and the dent. I’ll get it done before winter (funds permitting and all that). With a bit of wax /cleaning, the rest of the body actually isn’t bad at all (except the usual stone chips and parking scrapes from past owner etc). No need for a full respray. Looks great under the sun! Get it detailed mate, the colours awesome and will really pop then... If u dont mind me asking, how much did ur 288 set up cost you? What parts did u need exactly?
-
Whens the car going in for paint then? I dint realise ur mileage was soo low! Lucky bugger, mines double!
-
Bloody hell, why does everything need to come out?
-
Time: no problem... space: none

I dont remember why but someone told me to do this aswell. It seems to work lol. Aj, out of interest, how hard was it to do the heater matrix?
-
Ok thanks matey. Usefull advice there! Anyone had their inlet ported/throtle body ported? Im looking for cheapish upgrades to help the car breath a bit better!!
-
Did u mean Supersport mate? If so they are super stiff and that would explain why. Ive had weitec GT's on my valver which ride the same as KW V1s and tbh they ride shit but handle great. Ive now had FK Konigsports (koni adjustable dampers) on both my mk3 and my rado vr6 and they're both lower than yours and ride great. Id change em for Konigsports if i was u.

They're in pretty good nick i think with decent tyres all round. When i get the car back ill let you know, oh ad yep they're rz's n yup i want to sell em, pm me an offer if u like bud. Thanks for the positive comments mate.

I dunno because i use the same garage for my mot/service/exhausts as they're an exhaust and engine tuning specialist so they can just whip it off themselves when the time comes. Wont be for another year anyway as the mot's going to be renewed on monday.... Does it actually improve the power at all? Hmm im not sure i want me exhaust any louder, its really really quiet as it is... Thanks :) I just just decat'd mine 2 weeks ago. it was already decat'd when i bought it and i never even noticed because it wasnt noisey at all! It depends on what back etc you have on aswell obviously. Now that i've changed it back to a decat it does seem to pick up a tad better. It is a raddo Vr6 btw just to confirm! Hmm, i might get one knocked up and if i dont like the way it sounds etc sell it on, interesting food for thought, thanks dude.

If i can get them to do it while its there without gettin my hands dirty why not? :confused4: I asked how to remove it because i dont have the car here so i cant check!

Karl, you are a funny guy... Aj, ur a lot worse than me mate... i mean coolant top up? Really? why on earth would u leave the cap open on a PRESSURISED sytem when the coolants hitting boiling point? I changed quite a few hoses on my valver and filled it up fine lol and i was at that point the biggest mechanical newbie ever. Mind u, ive heard the heater matrix is a pig to do so hats of to u. Its all a learning curve bud... i had my VR for the best part of 3 hours before it decided to f up so while waiting for it to get sorted i wanted some ideas on how to tidy the bay and all i had to go off was one pic of the bay...

Thanks bro... I think im not going to bother as the system on the vr at the mo just purs along, realy nice and quiet!! I might look for a sports cat later on though. Guys, 6 branch mani's, any good or same as decat; ie pointless lol. Is it worth taking the stock manifold off and wrapping it to contain the heat? Pretty pointless unless you go supercharged imo. You thought about a BMC? I dont want one just because i like the sound the open filter makes over the BMC, i know ill probably lose 5hp over it but meh its worth it imo.

Thanks, i loved it for the 3-4 hours i had it before i had it towed to the garage (nackered crackpipe lol)... Whats the best way to tackle the nastiness on the filler then? I really dont want it to spread lol.

Hey guys, ive just bought a vr and tend to sit in a lot of london traffic. Im wondering if anyone could perhaps give me a step by step guide on how they made their speed 3 fan switch? If anyone wants to make me one pm me a price as thats even better lol. Also, any pics of said switch mounted on ur dash? Next question, are samco hoses a worthy investment or shall i stick with the vag stuff? Thanks, Abdul

Hey guys, ive just purchased my vr but its at a garage at the mo so cant go to inspect again properly but after i bought it i went to fill it up for the first time and when i opened the filler cap there was a ring of rust caked on the opening.... Easy to repair or is my car a complete lemon cos of it?
-
No mate, u were fine, it was the comedians LOL... If i had a garage id have taken the front end off and changed the crackpipe along with all the other hoses and given it a good tidy up but i dont and mum n dad will literally kill me if i try doin it in my drive!!

Gwerkes should be able to sort u out mate...

Fine fine im sorry. Just didnt know if u were trying to insult my inteligence or having a laugh. My bad. Friends? On a serious note though, the crackpipe split on my way home from collecting it on thursday so i had it towed to a garage that im very friendly with yesterday hence saying ill get them to take the covers off and what not. Its free right! Guys, while its there... decat or not?
-
Yup thats how im looking at it, id rather it went now when it did rather then when its already been to the garage and come back! Swompy thanks mate. 8) Danny, your is your vr running right?

Cheers mate, will have to look into getting the inlet painted... Thanks to everyone else who decided to make a constructive comment.
