  1. Respect if you do this without taking the dash out Carrots........
  2. Nothing boring at all about that Tom its the best thread in a while. Dont know if you can upload to You Tube but i dont think i would be the only one to be interested to hear how this Rado runs. Enjoy the weekend!
  3. Cheers Supercharged, you know how it goes, you think its clean but once you get started.....Would recommend the Glip to anyone it pulled up dirt that others have failed to do!
  4. Thanks VR6, did the interior today, a full 4 hour assault with Gliptone 11 and 12 and turtle wax carpet cleaner, was well worth the effort especially as off to the Alicante classic show tomorrow......first photos show the seats with 17 years ingrained dirt then the post Gliptone effect!
  5. As the interior gets assaulted by Gliptone's finest here are some new photos!
  6. Great stuff Tom, you are moving at a rate of knots. The Corrado database is a a big website over here in euro-land but nothing beats this one in my humble opinion. Anyway, reading all this has inspired me to attack the seats with the Gliptone i got at Essen last week, this is the start.....and the completed front seat. Keep up the great work over there
  7. Just bought one of these at Essen they are good quality and sit nicely on the parcel shelf!
  8. Burning the midnight oil Tom, this is a great thread keep it going mate, more photos if possible!
  9. Me neither, its probably a way of getting punters to watch the film....Had a look on the imdb.com and the profile (ha ha....) goes like this.... 'When Robert, an inanimate tire, discovers his destructive telepathic powers, he soon sets his sights on a desert town; in particular, a mysterious woman becomes his obsession.'.............................
  10. What the..........will look at the next crow i see with sympathy.......
  11. Sadly this is the only Karmann worthy of space on the VW Classic stand....
  12. Hi folks just got back from Essen and its classic car-fest. It was my first time there and i can safely say that i have never seen better, i needed every minute of the nine hours there to see it all as you can see from my pictures (http://www.flickr.com/photos/udaltea). What is noticeable is the lack of any Corrados save the model i bought for my parcel shelf! VW themselves put on a huge display (although not as good as the Mercedes one....) with Golfs, Passats, T4s etc etc but a Corrado free zone. Am i being over sensitive or do VW have a problem with the Corrado? No mention at the launch of the new Scirocco, the only place it seems to get recognized is the ETKA when its spare part time. I would be interested to hear what you think, especially if any of our German counterparts who read this website think the same as well.....
  13. Another victim of the matrix of doooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmm!! Best of luck and welcome to the forum, there is a wiki on here somewhere as to how to complete this baptism of fire!
  14. Great thread Tom, have you checked out the Corrado database, there are loads of Corrado TDis over here in mainland Europe...http://www.corrado-database.nl/index.php?item=search&resultset=corrado&motortype=7&bouwjaar=&kleurcode=&info=&verlang=
  15. Samaj my VR6 has factory fit AC (was bought in Germany) and i can tell you that here in Spain its up to the job no problem. It is a simplistic system in comparison with the climatronics of this world but i was in Seville last year when it was over 40 deg and car was nice and cold inside (engine wasn't tho!!!). get it re gassed mate and you will be ok.
  16. Dishwasher does a decent job, better on the washer reservoir tho. I went and bought a new expansion tank as it wasnt expensive (for once). The colours you have chosen will be a good combo, looking forward to the pics. Glad this has turned out well after a bad start. Only prob is that now i want a nugget!!!
  17. Beautiful Rado well done mate, am enjoying this thread. Try washer fluid reservoir and expansion tank in the dishwasher - the pink and blue makes a big difference to the engine bay! Great job so far keep us informed!
  18. Yep they have done a top job there...
  19. Top hose for an automatic here in Spain €235:scratch:
  20. Its a simpler system than the climatronics of this world but after 10 - 15 seconds you should be wanting to take your frozen hand away from the vent, sounds like a re-gas should be your first point of call as its the most likely - and the cheapest!
  21. Good point, people forget about the depreciation, what big Citroens and Alfas lose in their first three years is terrifying. Will think of this next time i have a problem, and while it can be depressing and carrots is having a bad run i still think these cars are worth it....OK, just looked this up, new Citroen C6 3.0 £38k, auto trader have a 2009 one for (wait for it........) £19k. My new €325 radiator doesnt seem so bad now.........
  22. Mine is in l/100km but i would say that is about right. The difference when i drive it around the narrow streets of the pueblo (and the locals love the exhaust note......) and the autopista is probably in the order of 30% or so and that 'warm up' to its peak i reckon is about right.......
  23. If it were the HG the car would run like a piece of you know what and there would be more steam than the Flying Scotsman in its prime. VW say a VR6 without an oil cooler???? Hens and teeth spring to mind, maybe you would like to show them this http://www.corrado-teile.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p2073_Oil-Cooler-Hardware-WITHOUT-Thermostat---VR6-Engines.html these guys may be in Germany but they are bloody quick (they sent me mine and it took 4 days to get to Spain), if not try Euro Car Parts or if in a hurry another VW dealer in your area (with someone who knows what they are talking about........). Dont worry its the oil cooler, my €10 are safe.........
  24. Hi Joe, well done on the matrix of doom first of all! OK, i had this problem in december (http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?52323-VR6-Head-gaskets-and-rip-offs.....(allegedly) ) and i would go for the heat exchanger/oil cooler as the first port of call as if not, its the HG altho judging by the symptoms i dont think it is as you say the car is running ok. When the oil cooler goes oil gets into the water. Period. Have a look in your header tank i bet there is some orange poo there which again is the oil in the water. If you can do the heater matrix then this is do able but while there some preventative treatment is advisable namely the crack pipe and the two tiny pipes which go down to the oil cooler itself, and also a full system flush to get rid of the poo. I will lay money that this is your problem mate, the oil cooler is not too bad (about €75 here) but there is a fair bit of labour. Hope this helps, €10 its the oil cooler/heat exchanger!
