Great Weekend! SciroccoRegister nats Day and Tatton
STU175 replied to Tempest's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
ive allways fancied a scirocco. i was looking for one years ago after writing off my mk2 gti. my dad called me to say he had seen one for sale not far away so i went to have a look. it was a corrado! LOL i brought it and is the one i still own now.... -
hard to see from photo but could be either- the 2 rubber seals that go between the reservoir and master cylinder ( if it is replace with genuine vw ones ive had problems with brand new pattern ones leaking) or the hoses comes out of reservoir split not sealed wipe it all dry hopefully it will be apparent:thumbleft:

i couldnt track down a new one so covered my one in heat reflective tape given to me my mate whos a heating engineer. he use it on boiler ducting and flumes and has no idea where he got it im afraid it tidied it up and you can hardly see it when engine is in. i believe the vr6 one is alot bigger/taller than the g60 one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOLT-ON-PANEL-SEALER-BUTYL-TAPE-ROLL-STRIP-SEALANT-BONDING-CARS-BOATS-VANS-/221533973105?hash=item3394742a71:g:nwsAAOxyA9dSZki0 this looks like the same stuff we use at autoglass to stick membranes on. it is reuseable if attempted on a coldish day, as when it is warm it can be a pain as it softens and wont peel off easily. its a bit like a roll of really sticky blue tack lol

same here wonder how hard they would be to reproduce? be good if some one made a batch

Anyone fitted samco LHD coolant hose kit to a RHD G60?
STU175 replied to STU175's topic in Engine Bay
Come on someone must know? -
ive got a rallye u bend and plan to fit a wagner golf g60 intercooler. has anyone used the LHD rallye hose kit to do this? samco only list a kit for the US LHD Golf g60 that has the small intercooler so that wont work the rallye has a bigger intercooler so im worried the hose will be to long when fitting the smaller golf g60 intercooler. is it possible to use the rallye hose? does it need cutting down to fit? does it still fit ok if you have to cut it? Help LOL
-
as above samco only list lhd? as far as i can see all hoses should be the same apart from possibly the two hoses that feed the heater matrix? will the lhd kit fit?

or maybe the guide thats glued to the glass has come off and/or been glued in the wrong place?
-
i had the same problem after i swopped doors a few years back with the gap near the handle end. it was a bit crude but i "tweeked" the top of the guide rail that the window runs up and down in so it held the glass closer to the window scraper i remember a large flat screwdriver being involved LOL but looking at the diagram below perhaps the pop rivets could be drilled out and washer added behind maybe?

i need to win the lottery NOW lol ive followed the build on dubforce forum its a work of art!

LOL a little way off but progress is slowly being made. i finished fitting the s2 front caliper upgrade last night so just need to get them all bleed tonight lack of funds halts getting it finished really. still got to buy intercooler, oil cooler, rad, and hoses before i can see if it runs... -
i fitted the ASD box to mine. its a straight fit apart from you have to swop the shift tower over from the g60 box as the ASD box had a rod change setup originally.

i had a similar problem i cut out the rusty bit then got some steel and put a 90 bend to form the lip then bashed with hammer on a sand bag to get the shape right using the part ide cut out as a template. not easy but doable hope this helps mate! oh also i filled the lip with under seal slightly higher on one side to stop the water sitting there and rusting it again. it should drain out nicely now
