    21MPG

i regularly get under 20mpg from mine, according to the MFA at least but i know i get about 300 miles out of a tank full, IIRC the 16v tank is smaller than the VR's isnt it? £40 a tank....
  3. liked the angel-eye headlights so much he bought the whole car! * very nice mate, has it been fiddled with in any way? * yes i know, it probably doesnt have angel eyes but poetic licence is a wonderful thing...
  4. i take it the tippex was just used to colour-code, not do the whole car!
  5. i thought it was some unlikly company, a Kia Elan just doesnt sound as cool as a lotus, not something you could shout about down the pub! what do you drive? a kia elan (then shouting over the laughter) THEY USED TO BE MADE BY LOTUS!
  6. I have a vauge memory of some other company taking over production of the elan when lotus stopped, anyone know who it was, what they called it and if it was any good?
  7. oops! is it defiante whip-lash as confirmed by a doctor? if it is i'd be putting in a personal injury claim mate! like you say at least it wasnt your C
  8. They do mate, I nearly had one on mine but there was a serious design problem in that it made contact with the boot floor. The shop i got it from rang scorpian and apparently they're all like that. I'm sure when i posted about the problem there were some other 16v owners who'd sucessfully managed to get it to fit.
  9. while on a boredom killing trip over to carlisle i saw a big mean blue C coming in the oposite direction....I knew i recognised it! i'm sure it was trippy! Car is an intimidating sight in real life, and looks a damn sight better than in the photos. 8)
  10. yup i think i have seen you , i've definatly seen a moonlight blue C heading towards sunderland on the A19 a couple of times...
  11. sounds like you were really unlucky there mate, but at least its sorted now and you know where to go back to if you have any more problems! i'm not far from you over in gateshead, whats your C like? i might have seen you around....
  12. nice to see they've put a handle on the top to make it easier pushing it off a cliff Its a head turner alright, which is probably what the owner wanted, but i'm sure the pointing and laughing wasnt quite what he planned.... also, what does it say on the back window under the big M's? i'm sure that says 'muppet minibus.com'
  13. cant really see me going the turbo route, so the torquier (spelling?!) abf sounds like the one for me! just got to get my hands on one
  14. well it worked 8) erm...what do the numbers represent though? lol
  15. which of the two is likely to give me better results then? or are they both about the same? I'd have thought the mk3 would be a better choice being newer and likely to have less miles on it....?
  16. While out for a spin with chrisVR6NOS yesterday we were trying to get my MFA to show the extra info, but couldnt get it to work! how do you do it on a 1.8 16v?
  17. i've heard this is a good mod, and a 2.0 bottom end should be fairly cheap, so what should i be looking for? and is it worth the effort?
  18. I dont really remember when i first became 'aware' of corrado's, I've been in to cars since I was a kid but I cant honestly say i drooled over them specifically in my youth. I used to have a mk4 astra SXI which fell foul of a combination of a tight bend, diesel on the road and a large metal barrier. After it was written off and I got the insurance payout i decided i wanted to look for something, fast, fun, but cheap (compared to the 12k i paid for my mk4!!) I looked at a whole range of things, 200SX's, MR2's, BMW's....then eventually i remembered the C! looked on autotrader, checked out insurance and found i could only afford the 16v, looked at autotrader again (this time ignoring the VR's and g60s! ;)) and spotted a nice looking red 1990 about 30miles from me. Went for a test drive with my dad (moral and machanical support!) and we both fell in love. Dad's normally sensible about these things and had been suggesting a fiesta or corsa, but as soon as he drove the C he was asking if he could get insured on it too 8) 3 days after i test drove it, i owned it and i'm still loving it! In a way its made me glad i smashed the Astra, the C's 12 years older but it just as well equiped and a million times more fun.
  19. got to say i like the sebrings and not just because thats whats on mine! they could do with being a bit wider but i think they really suit the C.
  20. just been out in the dark, cold and very windy keilder forest wastching the pirelli rally, quite good would have been better if it wasnt so dark though! someone rolled it up the hill in front of us which was exciting, disapointingly i only got one decent pic though :( on the way back i had a guy in a mk2 golf on my arse for quite a while, i tried to be good and not rise to his blatent callenge but that lasted all of 5mins  couldnt really see what it was, but it had a gti grille, and kept up with me very easily, if I'd been behind him i think i would have struggled!
  21. well i know it drinks the stuff and i've not checked it for a bit, maybe the bulbs gone too....
  22. £350?? did that include labour? I had a full custom stainless system fitted to mine for £300 to be fair the company was just starting up and wanted to get a good name so there was maybe a little discount in there but still! I'd look into options for custom systems mate, unless you want to keep it standard.
  23. this happened three times today, each time while doing a hard right at speed, twice while on roundabouts once while turning into a junction. I get this little 'beep beep beep' noise thats very simular to the sound the imobiliser makes when it arms, but louder. Its only started happening today, theres no warning lights on the dash, oil temp looks fine....i'm really confused! :?
  24. are you taking it up with ebay? they have plenty of buyer protection on there. You could also try taking it to 'squaretrade' http://www.squaretrade.com/cnt/jsp/index.jsp
