those rims really look the part, i wouldnt change them if i was youb*rd> ;) looks like a good solid VR mate, the OZ's will set it apart from all the other raddo's on 301's.
-
the rear lights work REALLY well with that colour, very nice!
-
yup, they're 299's, look very nice on the corrado! you should just be able to use the bolts off your current wheels really!
-
reminds me of a father ted sketch... "see dougal, this cows small, and those are just really far away...."
-
its probably the perspective but furk's car looks dinky next to daz's rat in the side-by-side shot! seriously impressive cars all round, well done guys, mucho respecto
-
yours is a valver right? et35 standard, probably something like et30 would get the wheels right inline with the arches, but i'd go for 'slightly' less than that if you can, less rubbing issues that way! I got some spacers from euro car parts which werent great, but were only about £20. make the wheels wobble like mad! try and find hubcentric ones if you can.
-
i reckon it'll need to be lower than 40mm to look REALLY good, but should look nice all the same. ET50 isnt going to go directly on :? and to get it down to acceptable VR offset you'll need some fairly major spacers, which I've never liked using.
-
actually i just realised, all 3 of those cars in that picture are down about 60mm on 17's! :D
-
thats H8RRA's car not mine, but I think thats around 60mm drop? he can confirm.
-
thats just the gearstick on a CTR kev ;)
-
60mm over bk299's should be ok if you're running 205/40/17's, they're 7.5" wide arent they?
-
i wouldnt have thought the leon was as aerodynamic as the C, giving you a slight advantage at speed.
-
wheels? no mate, they're pringles tube lids painted to look like wheels...
-
yep, less than impressed cant see that looking good on design 90's! I actually quite like the 'fox' name for its retroesque feel, but the new design looks like a micro MPV. when will car manufactuers realise WE DONT ALL WANT CARS THAT LOOK LIKE MPV'S!!!!
-
i think i've got some photos at home somewhere of my VR when I got it, 17's on the back and speedies on the front! looked like a flipping dragster!
-
any specific actions that provokes the noise? over bumps? changing gear? pulling a straw though a maccy d's cup? ;)
-
yeah i was worried about lawnmower sounds too, but apparently if you stick a 'race-can' on you can disguise the weedy engine note quite well 6ft 3 rugby player on a mito might look a tad odd, has to be said!
-
I looked into this a while ago, you're limited to a 125 while you're a learner, although there are some pretty nippy 125's out there! I was looking at cagiva mito's which dont look like a small bike really, so no pointing and laughing from other bikers  ;) never went through with it in the end since I worked out I'd have to rebuild half the back yard in order to keep it securly.

9x16 would look a bit wrong without a bigger drop IMO, you need the arches as close to the tires as possible to pull them off (the look, not the tyres!). Offset is also a factor in this, as you could have 7.5" wide rims which have a low offset and hit the arch :? for referance, I had a set of 8x17's with an et of 32 on my old VR which was dropped 60mm. it 'looked' right at that height and the tyres only scuffed the arch liners over big bumps. I wouldnt go much lower than et32 and expect to get away with standard arches since my tyres (205/40's streched a little) only just cleared the inner lip when they caught. I keep meaning to put those wheels up for sale, need to clean them up first though since they've been sat in the shed for a bit!
