  1. in short - google earth in your dub. impressive stuff, i wondered how long it'd take someone to do this although I expected it to come from a opensource project ranther than VW!
  2. I've seen one with a debadged grille, you'd never know it was a vauxhall... unless you 'knew' if you see what I mean. -edit- here it is! bloody horrible colour though...
  3. that looks tidy for £6 and a bit of effort!
  4. glad to hear racepower are being good about it and sorting it out, they obviously care about their customers and reputation! you'll get there mate, and it'll all be worth it. anyway wheres the fun in having it all go smoothly and having no stories to tell at shows?
  5. mystic blue? not sure its got extra value over any other late style bonnet really since unless you're a mystic blue storm owner, you'll have to get it repainted.
  6. if vince says its the ECU then I'd listen to the man! ;) 138bhp is low considering the mods you've done, if you're really not sure its the ECU you could ask vince to re-test it with a stock ECU and see what power you get before forking out for the remap?
  7. do you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted? I got nasty vibrations on my valver after I had a new system put on, although the fitters thought there was loads of clearance between the exhaust and the front running gear, on acceleration that gap closed and caused a really nasty knocking/vibrating which I could feel through the pedals and see in the dash. system off, few extra bends, sorted.
  8. I never even considered becoming a CCGB member during my corrado owning years. I joined the forum in 2003 (or was it 2004?) and even then the CCGB had a pretty bad reputation for politics and in-fighting, which put me off pretty much. I've also heard through various people the story of the formation of the CF after goings on on the yahoo groups, again I never joined the yahoo group. from reading the posts here, it seems the main issue for the CCGB is cash and people-power. Its a catch 22 in that generally one doesnt come easily without the other. on the other hand we have the CF, 'generally' well tempered, free to join and has the mod squad giving up their time to help out free gratis. I know it costs Andi to keep this place going, and he often gets no thanks, but thats a testiment to how dedicated to the cause he is... updating the site on boxing day anyone? if the two combined how would that work? I'm guessing there'd be a fee to join, which may loose us a few members, there'd need to be a combination of members from the CCGB and the CF running the show, ideally some of the mods from here if they have time and obviously andi. I guess that'd be down to you guys to thrash out. so what would we get in the end? A pay-to-join club with (i'm guessing) a newsletter and discounts from suppliers, organised events and the more official sounding 'corrado club of great britain' name, with the forum online for the members to use. It sounds good in theory, I'm sure plenty of CF and CCGB members would be up for it as we'd be getting the best of both worlds, however I think the back-room stuff is going to be the hardest part to sort out. Any past differences of opinion, arguments or clashes need to be burried and forgotten, otherwise things will go downhill quickly. My reservation is that it could go the way of the current CCGB and we'd end up losing the CF too.
  9. could well be... fortunaly i secured on from the bay for the grand total of £7 with a lucky sunday night bid.
  10. i would also question informing the insurers of a chip or remap, unless its a very serious smash I doubt they're going to take the ecu to bits or run diagnostics on it. at worst you could have a 'spare' ecu in case of emergencies? yes i know it'd not be covered and its more than a bit dishonest.
  11. yes yes, i know, its not a corrado; it a fatter, shorter younger sibling but still, i know theres plenty of people with experiance of them. basically my heater blowers died totally, one day it worked fine the next, nothing, not on any speed (which I guess rules out the resistor pack?) anyway, are there any common faults with them like the corrado ones? I'm thinking about just getting one from ebay since heat in the car at this time of year is kind of useful, but I dont want to waste the cash if theres some other probable cause, oh and yes i checked the main fuse! :?
  12. paint looks lovely on that!
  13. ah, yeah i picked yellowbird as it was the only one i could remember for sure!
  14. no i do beleive its all his own hair...
  15. dear santa... welcome aboard! surely that should be rudolf red?
  16. Ruf is a tuning company, like brabus or such, their cars are pretty much porkers, although they have their own names for them like the 'Ruf Yellowbird' Ruf being the manufactuerer and yellowbird being the name of that particular car. you're right khurrado, they are generally sweet!
  17. no you deffinatly didnt imagine it, someone posted it up during a discussion about the effect (or lack of) the spoiler.

    Not Happy

nasty, i bet it all seemed to happen in slow motion too eh? is he coughing up for it?
  21. my mate actually thought about a porker 944, but decided that while he could afford to buy one, keeping it on the road would be prohibative compared to other cars in his price range.
  22. a mate of mine just bought a denim blue LHD 180 TT, not my favorite cars and after being in his I dont really see why people are doing TT dash transplants, it looked a bit cheap and very 'plastic' to me. He reckons the grip is outstanding, and after previously owning a Cooper-S, he says it outshines it by miles. yeah sure they're not a involving to drive as alot of other cars, but i guess it depends what you want from your motor. if you can stomach a LHD version they're drasticly cheaper than the RHD alterantives.
  23. nice! I actually like the lights, i was planning something simular for my silver VR at one point. borbet C's mmmmm! are they the 17's?
  24. report it to ebay and dont pay up, if you have proof that he said it was HPI clear (emails maybe?) and the proof that it isnt, then you'd be totally justified in telling him to feck off! winning an auction on ebay isnt legally binding, no matter what the sellers might say. in your report to ebay all you need say is that the advert was misleading and the seller withheld important information which affects the value of the item.
  25. meh, thats why god gave us knees ;) I think we're probably all guilty of driving one handed, or in some other slightly dangerous way at some point or other but that doesnt make it right. incedentally, does anyone know if its agaisnt the law to smoke and drive?
